History has also proven that kills you a lot easier, otherwise we'd be sending our troops in wearing seashell bikinis and fruit hats.

In former times everything was better, even war ;)

I'd say bloodier and more gruesome, but I guess that means "better" for some people.

I'd say still better then some gas war and atomic bombs with weapons of mass destruction also available to every force

I don't hate the idea... it's just unnecessary dead weight.
Or in these cases the wish for lack of weight to be exact.

And please don't even start feeding me "real life" or "realistic history" crap.
If you want that female chars would have to stay pregnant at home... or following behind the armies as washerwomen/cooks/*** while the man have their fun out on the battlefield.
End of story for "female armor".

For the most part nowadays both are just as effective. Anything but small arms fire is going to get through.

Also consider this... Light armor is just cloth and medium is simply leather armor. In theory you should be able to just stab people and kill them in one hit. So debating the practicality of the cosmetic appearance of the equipment is useless.

Additionally, as previously stated. Old armor was useless because the backs of the knees, underarms, etc. were still unprotected. If we are going to get into this discussion, then they need to add the ability to trip, grapple and then coup de grace heavy armor wearers to even things out.

Kinda why in general people don't wear it anymore. Typically only just a vest to prevent small arms chest shots.

I wish the devs had excepted that M rating. Gimme all the M rated stuff I deserve, dammit!

I'd love to see more revealing armour again. Even if it is just in the light armour rating.
As to the game rating I don't know about anywhere else but in Australia the game already has an M rating.

    Really??

Now don't get me wrong if that's what you want then that's your opinion.

But IMO there's enough sex making its way into modern games as it is do we really need more revealing clothes for our characters??
Which leads me to my next point.. Everything I've read or seen (besides 1 comment) on this thread has been about giving female characters less clothes..
While I agree that I don't want to see my khajiits spaghetti and meatballs dangling all over the place it just goes to show the mentality of some people.
"Huh huh huh.. I wanna see boobs when I play. Huh huh huh".. Grow up man!! and if you want sexy clothes for females you'd better be ready to cop sexy clothes for males aswell

I think if you want "sexy" clothing in game (cause let's face it some of the pictures above can't even come close to being classed as armour) I think it should come with fairly major set backs, as some have mentioned, like 0 armour rating. If you get hit once or twice that's light out. And a major weakness to fire and freezing. Since your skin isn't protected AT ALL.

OR.. You could just run around in your underwear like I've seen several special individuals doing.

I seriously don't see the point in "sexy armour" AT ALL besides having a perve. In which case your perving on someone's character design, an imaginary character made of pixels, colours etc. and if that's the case I personally believe that you need help.

Guys- tear your eyes off screen for a minute and check out your girlfriend (or Google one lol :p)
Girls- again, tear your eyes off screen for a minute and look in a mirror. Or flick through them glossy pages that depict women as fake as the ones in game.

Stop hardlining judgments of people who want more "fantasy" in their fantasy game. To say that they have loose morals/will be judged by God (SERIOUSLY?!?!)/ need help is going WAY too far. They aren't asking for copulation simulation in ESO or to have strip clubs. They're asking for attire that would reflect THEIR personal sense of style.

People who have it in real life want to flaunt it... same in virtual world.

So go check out real life examples and leave your smut out of the game. Google is really an amazing thing in that regard.

Don't you find it even slightly amusing that everyone here seems to only want the females to "flaunt it"... Even the women that have posted.. Talk about sexism taking a step backwards when you've got women complaining that virtual women aren't showing enough skin..
Maybe my point of view is simply too old fashioned. Maybe I'm seeing things wrong but IMO this thread reeks of sexism.

This is 100% it. You ARE seeing things wrong.

If I want my male character to run around like Conan the Barbarian I should be allowed to let him do. Men and women BOTH deserve the option to run around how they would like.

Now that being said, I do NOT think that I should have as good armor as my full heavy armor characters. The armor rating should be appropriate to the coverage and material.

If me wanting to have my characters wear scant armor makes you think of pornography the problem is entirely, and immaturely, yours.

    Style isn't necessarily appearance.

You're right about that... but all character models in ESO have the same walk, same stance, same "style"... but that is a different discussion.

There is some sexy stuff in game. The problem is, is that most of it was either patched away, or not available in the upper armor tiers (in the case of being patched away, it may have been simply shifted to other tiers).

I remember finding some Argonian leather at release in level 5ish areas that sported a midriff and kind of reminded me of Kiera Knightley's costume in "King Arthur". I kept that armor through many tiers simply because the higher tier versions of that armor had covered up the exposed areas.

As a female player who likes to play female characters, I was rather glad the armour I've picked up or crafted so far looks like it would protect me in combat. However, I wouldn't object to something a bit lighter, or more revealing, for wearing when I'm crafting or just relaxing in game. Give players a choice over how much skin they show, both male and female characters.

The Golden Saint costume looks pretty BA on my vamp Dark Elf chick.

Admittedly I would be playing a Breton or Nord Wolf/Bear shaman if such things where available.

+1 for culturally accurate costumes regarding Celtic and Germanic peoples, ty.
