ZOS, Why all the hate on sexy armor?

I mean im not asking to star in a *** or anything, I just dont want to look like I live in a convent! So why is it all the NPC's get great looking or cool sexy looking armor and we are left having to cover every inch of skin?

The "wedding dress"? Nope, super terrible. The "evening gown", even worse.

Some Examples of something the woman in Tamriel Might light to sport:

Anyone else come across a scantily clad NPC and wished they could take their outfit?

I am a female gamer and I do wish i had more feminine armor or clothes because we flaunt it. But, in part I believe its the female Devs which we know are many and the fact most modders made Skyrim pornography happen to a certain extent (and yes i dont mind i have mine modded :) ) so ZOS wants to keep it conservative. They don't want to develop a rep in that aspect.

For the most part characters running around half naked was never my cup of tea.. Because let's face it, you should probably be sticking in an inn somewhere serving drinks and not trying to battle the undead hoard. But if they do eventually make more, eh, revealing outfits for females, I demand they also make scantily clad male armour and / or clothes to show off my Imperial's goods.

Personally I enjoy thje way how armor in ESO looks like Armor, looks like it is actually supposed to provide protection. And I always dislike those who would want "sexy" armor, with the same protection.

    That stated...

I would really enjoy more non-armor clothes to be added for roleplaying purposes... and that includes wishing for "sexy" versions (for both genders, of course). And if it was non-armor clothing, then people would have to choose between "looking sexy" and "being well protected for combat" - which is as it should be.
(and of course I'd also love to see those clothes to be not only obtainabe through burglary, but also purchasable from tailors and research/craftable by clothiers)

Personally I would also love to have the costumes in ESO being divided into two types... combat costumes like the daggerfall armor sets or the ordinator armor, and non-combat coasumes that automatically unequip if you take damage, which would be stuff like jesters costume, wedding gown, etc. Just to keep the battlefields immersion alive...

Well, you're protecting your virginity like a boss already. ;)

And talking more serious. This was the actual reason to modify Redguard female Light Armor around 1.6. Yeah, bare cleavage and a bit of belly was just "too much".

    Here's how it was changed:

as i can understand the wishes for those more revealing armors they entirly fail the purpose of armor.
but as i like deversity just add them, but couple a new stat to those armors, for 10 pixels of exposed skin you have 1% chance to be oneshotted as your armor is completly bypassed and some of the most vital body parts are opened to attacks.

ZOS is afraid that if they took the "M" rating on this game and applied it they would offend someone and back thier own code of conduct.

But on a less trolly point, it's silly that they don't offer something to the players that want it.

I'm female (and straight and happily married) and I'd like to see more options for revealing clothing too.

No it wouldn't make sense for heavy, or even medium, armour where the material is supposed to protect you (along with the design, like having plates angled to deflect a blade).

But light armour is just cloth, it wouldn't protect you any more than the jeans and t-shirt I'm wearing in real life would. (The jeans may slightly reduce the damage from a short bladed weapon, but that's about it.) There is even a book in-game acknowledging that mages robes won't protect them at all and stating that they shouldn't need it because their magic should be enough to protect them.

As someone else already pointed out we also have clothes with no armour rating at all which could be another option.

I don't really care that the armor isn't revealing but I really wish they would bring back the low level redguard light armor as clothing. That was perfect for roleplaying while in town.

I do feel like my Sorc has only the 'dressing gown' look , s'posed to be based on magic and the ability to move quickly (light arm) so why is my only option a long dress?
I also have a v5 battle mage with heavy arm with spikes and plate which is as it should be , but a few more options for magica light armour would be nice (and I'm not talking 'Tera bikinis' , just something more appealing within the lore (as the OP showed)

Hello this thread again! Totally NOT a slam by the way, the fact that this subject keeps resurfacing tells me that a significant portion of the player base would like these options and, as usual, ZOS seems not to be listening. I'm not a fan of "lingerie armor" but I DO feel there should be some variation available in light armor, which 1. doesn't provide much in the way of protection in the first place and 2. what protection it does provide is largely through glyphs, as in, MAGIC! Since ALL armor has the potential to really derive its protective qualities from magic I think there SHOULD be some cool, more fantasy oriented, options. I don't want it to be ridiculous but why on earth (or Nirn!) can't a cloth robe have a neckline like THIS one, which is available already in game as MEDIUM leather armor???

    6eafdb9b-aed6-4bd4-923e-09a7ff57129e_zpsvnk4eayc.png

And this is supposedly "light" armor, though it is clearly made of leather also. How I would love to see something akin to this in CLOTH without the giant neck piece!
    Morna3_zpsschuhkra.png

Maybe some more THIS without making it one of the most difficult things to obtain in the game?
    c9713af1-e826-4722-aef8-69fa5710dd85_zpsvwdvmhsd.png

    Oh look, more "medium" armor!
    71bf9bfc-1e2b-4896-831c-9cdd456362b1_zpsphkaxyfc.png

And this one is supposedly "heavy" armor. Would love to see it as light without all the neck gear.
    27643bb0-b411-47cd-a0d4-332a2c955b8e_zpscd08nut2.png

    And finally, more "medium" armor!
    bcce67a9-d061-45b8-b251-7b12c6bdcd2d_zpstddnlkqh.png

So the take away from this lesson is that you CAN have some "sexy" armor looks...but only if you ALSO have a leather fetish.

Yes, wearing a robe will protect you against arrows easily /s.

When it comes to light armor, what is the difference anyway. It is MAGIC - so you can't justify it by it's practical protection.

As a female player I would love to have some "sexy" armor. Nothing stupid and outrageous of course.
To the people who have such a HATE for this idea... Look at Real Life Ancient history. Some of the most fearsome warriors of the time wore very little (Picts), leather (germanic, celts) to the Greek, Roman skirts. So there are options out there to stay somewhat realistic in our world of fantasy for us female players and the males.
