Imperial City will kill PvP

Just to keep this short and sweet from what I understand your Alliance needs to hold Emp to gain access to The Imperial City but It will be mostly PvE if not all PvE so once an Emperor is crowned all the PvEers will flood to Cyrodiil to both explore and after they play all the content Role Play in the City till the Emp is dethroned with PvE focused gear and powers not being as good in AvAvA they may not even help hold Emp. But no matter if they do or do not they will still take up a space in the Q for PvPer who can only PvP in this one Zone.

Lets but real Role Playing is still happening in PvP it's no where near as bad as it used to be but The Imperial City will kick this back into over drive The Alliance that holds Emp will be hit with a flood of PvEer that will go to the City while they will mostly likely make it easier to dethrone as less spaces for PvPer and not all PvPer will rally to hold emp so that will cut the number of defenders somewhere (last emp keep or Scrolls) by a lot depending on the number of people in Cyrodiil not taking part in the War so PvPers will be in Q will be in line with PvEers that will not help in the War but still full the Camp see the Problem here take Emp open the city as a byproduct and hot less people to hold a penalty on emp if you will and the line for PvP goes back to the hour wait times, in the words of my people "ain't nobody got time for that" Ok so not so short but still sweet

    If one whole year of neglect, miserable balance changes, miserable gear, single digit framerates, and no response to exploits/cheating didn't kill this game, then the imperial city wont either.

    It will continue to be Mediocre Scrolls Online.

    We don't know enough to really judge it yet. Warhammer's version of the Imperial City certainly had all those features, it was a massive PvE grind, a failure and one of the reasons the game went to the deathbed within months and never recovered. We can only hope ZOS learned from Mythic's mistakes.

    Then again, according to the average life expectancy in my country I have about 40 years left and at the current pace of content updates I won't live to see the Imperial City.

    Holding my judgement on it. However I feel like Imperial city should have been completed separate from the population of regular pvp population numbers..

    I don't remember that Darkness Falls and Shadow Lab killed PVP in DAOC. It was an enrichment!

    The problem is not Imp City the problem is the non challenging PvP objectives like becoming Emp.
    Emp changes several times the day because AvA doesn't require skill or tactics its just Mickey Mouse PvP as well alliance hopping kills AvA concept because no one is committed to his faction.

    There is nothing wrong with Imp City concept but the campaigns need to be fixed asap.

    I keep telling you guys, TESO just keeps on trying to copycat GW.

    What other game has the dodgeroll concept.. Oh ya GW2.
    What other game is heavily WvW? Oh ya GW2.

    This is, this game is missing stuff Guild Wars has.

    But again, the whole cyrodiil only open when your winning PvP..
    Nothing but same concept GW runs with Underworld ONLY being open to particular world when they control the Halls of Heroes.

    Also, highly doubt it will boot you out when you lose 1 of the 6 central keeps.. Its hard has heck to hold all of them....
    Yall must not PvP or something because... You still are emperor all you need to do is ensure you don't lose access to 1 of those 6 central keeps AFTER you get crowned emperor.

    I guess initially each faction takes their IC server just as we had buff servers. I think OP is right. I am playing PvE and probably ignore Cyrodiil otherwise and just head straight into the city to take a look.

    We shall see what the "PvE" means there. Anyway, if the PvP starts bothering too much, we probably abandon the place and hand Cyro back to PvP players and IC turns to ghost town.

    I don't think ZOS are going to sell us a product like Imperial City DLC that you can access based on what's happening in a campaign in cyrodiil. It may have the same campaign name and rules but it's got to be a separate PVP zone that you can get to when you've paid for it.

    You might wanna check on 'DAoC' and 'Darkness falls'. That was way before GW, and some of the devs on TESO team worked on DAoC, so if anything, it is GW who is copying their earlier work.

    Sorry but just because a minor part of Mythic Entertainment DAOC developers working on other games in their career it doesn't mean they responsible for the design. If this would be the case where is the Kick ass pvp in Warhammer Online, GW2 and SWTOR?

    As RvR/AvA fans we only can hope that ESO will improve campaigns and PvP objectives or wait for Camelot Unchained.
    Sure, I like Matt, Brian and Mark Jacobs but they did a lot for DAOC and I still appreciate this as a gamer during a time where no one believed its possible.

    This is exactly the point many gamers don't understand today because we had revolutional kick ass PvP 15 years ago and nowadays everyone in this damn industry is turning around 180 degree. We don't want old games back but the creativity of their makers and their passionated enthusiasm why they make games.

    No new content for a year and a half will/has killed pvp. So no, Imperial City will not kill the already undead ESO pvp.

    Somewhat but you still will be taking over city sectors form mobs and defending them from other players and even more mobs and such, so will be a mix and such, gankers will love it most from the sounds of it, but if there are alliance perks for holding certian city sectors you know zergs will be going in at times to take them over, which means teams will need to be ready to take over the least defended of home keeps to shut them in

    Because what zos made compared to them is better.

    Rofl, of all the things TESO copied from GW, it didn't copy WvW, it copied DAOC, the game before GW came out...Imperial City itself is a bloody copy of Darkness Falls from DAOC as well.

    As for Dodge Roll, while this game does have dodge roll, lets clear something up, GW2 had an Endurance Meter for Dodge, and so classes didn't necessary rely on Dodge as much as you think...you couldn't spam it like ESO

    You also didn't have the Blocking/Shield Casting system like this game does as well...which makes up a lot mitigation in this game also.

    While GW2 did have mechanics similar to these, Most of what they stole was from Previous MMO's.

    Imperial City is a concept taken from DAOC Darkness falls, I am looking forward to this, and hope it breaths some new life into pvp, but time will tell.

    Darkness Falls was one of the few great additions to DAoC. On realm took control. PvE'rs and small man PvP'rs flooded DF. PvP'rs cleared out the other realm as best they could. DF changed hands. Rinse and repeat.

    Of course, DF was not accessed from the PvP zone, and there were no PvP zone caps.

    The Underworld system, big idea came from GW.

    What you guys are saying is... The whole turret defense game... Started off with StarCraft (USED MAP SETTINGS, Taco Bell, and others)....

    Just like how the Underworld system REALLY shined in GW... NOT DAoC.

    Just LIKE World vs World.. SHINED in GW2... Not in EvE or any of those other CHUMP CHANGE games.

    Yall must be on of those.. Ultima Online started the whole rise to MMO's.... Nah that was Everquest. Everquest is when it truly shined..

    WoW is the only game to outshine a shining game.

    I don't give a hoot if these developers came from DAoC... All they'll understand is that GUILD WARS #### em up when they was working for DAoC...
    Now GW2 is #### em up while they work on TESO.

    If GW2 can afford to spend $$$ on PvP championships, its winning.. Bug free too might I add. GW2 afford to make NEW WvW/AvA battleground... PvP maps... LIVING WORD CONTENT (new content like 5 new zones FREE). Coming out with an expansion STRONG (Living world hyped up its expansion Hearts of Thorn).

    Don't tell me this makes TESO drool with jealously and wants to mimic GW2 every move.

    Don't be surprised if the next AvA map... Is called Edge of the Mists.
    Best place for fastest AP!!

    One thing of note to mention.
    GW2 is looking for the long run
    TESO is just getting by in the short run

    GW2.. Achievements require you to kill 500,000 players.
    Capture a keep 1,000,000 times.

    While TESO online.
    Avenge someone 10 times... Done in 5 minutes after a zerg.
    Kill such and such 100 times.. Done in a week
    TESO online achievements all done in short period of time like up to a year tops.

    Meanwhile GW2 achievements.. Takes YEAR((S)) to accomplish. It is in it for the LONG RUN.
    GW2 is looking to be around for a LONG time.. Just like GW.

    TESO.. get full gold. You beat the game.
    GW2.. Get full exotic.. MANY MANY more to do.. ASCENDED GEAR. LEGENDARY GEAR. MAWDREY. all those other miscellaneous yet VERY useful items to get too.

    TESO... Miscellaneous yet very effective? Nada. Legendary gear? Nada. Ascended gear? nada. Nada Nada Nada
    Titles that are VERY VERY hard to get?? CHAMPION of the ARENA?? Nada
    Unique Skins? People don't even use them because they are ugly... However in GW2.. People use them.
    Everyone and there mommy runs around with DragonStar Arena, Beothic Scythe, Former Emperor..
    Yet in GW2.. ONLY the BEST of the BEST players run around with Champion of the Arena.
    ..
    Just because you stayed up all night. Told the best to leave so you're highest ranked... Got your Emperor title..
    Doesn't mean jack..
    You cant do that in GW2.. You have to actually be the best to have the best titles.

    Games have similarities, music does , cars have 99% the same design etc..
    Human feel comfy with habits and proven concepts.

    But that doesn't mean existing concepts cannot be improved.

    So what are you trying to tell us?

    The 6 home keeps aren't the emperor ones.
    They are Drakelowe, Arrius, Farragut, Kingcrests, Chalman for the Pact, then Aleswell, Rayles, Glademist, Brindle, Dragonclaw for DC, the rest for AD.
    So we will be able to enter the I.C. at the same time with other alliances.
