Campaign Clearout?

Hi,
I am new to campaigns. I waited until I was level 39 and hit the 5 day non-veteran campaign of Blackwater Blade. I entered later on day 2 and ALDMERI were well in the lead but we (DAGGERFALL) had more potential, with EBONHEART last. Over the next 2 days/48 hours ALD. went down and EBON. climbed back. We however gained more scrolls and pushed back to get closer to the lead (probably an unassailable lead however). With a day remaining and both EBON. and ALD. improving I went to bed....
Awaking 6 hours later I find the Cyrodil map coloured red and yellow with 1 keep to our name (we had 6-10 yesterday). Everytime I rode out and in any direction I met either (1) an ambush of 20 v 1, (2) 2-4 allies who joined me in an attempted anything (attack on enemy players, siege, ride) which at best lasted 10 mins (in a death) and at worst lasted 10 seconds (in a death), or (3) an enemy farm/mine whereby I pummelled it with a war weapon, NPC enemies run at me, I fight and they auto.return to their default place (in retreat they are impossible to damage).
Now, I have done well previous to this, climbed the Emperorship, received several items via email, taken many keeps and farms, etc. completed several quests, killed players at a ratio of 1.5 to 2 (to my own lives), healed, defended, repaired, sieged, so I'm only a partial noob.
I cannot be sure but I am guessing the player in the game right now are 50 DAGGERFALL (with 20 or so on solo quests), 300 ALDMERI, 150 EBONHEART. I see the same players (very few of them) at every respawn.
The long-winded build-up give way to my question, is this normal, do people clearout?

RobbieRocket✭✭✭Oh, and the excitement, enjoyment factor went from VERY HIGH to EXCEPTIONAL to PAINFULLY REPETETIVE.
It's not abou winning or losing, yesterday I lost a few but it was varied and fun. Today, it's like being a group of 5 in a world of 500 aggressors - a pushing respawn way too often, after the same thing happened.
Do I play the main story (like everyone else seems to have decided) and leave the last few to fadeout and repeat?0 -

✭People (individually or whole guilds) probably decided to switch factions for the next round (the round being either next campaign period or their next incarnation, because quite a lot of them keep playing BWB repeatedly and create new characters when previous out-level it).Edited by JamilaRaj on July 3, 2015 12:20PM1 -
RobbieRocket✭✭✭Thanks for the response. If that is the case, it's disheartening and sabotages the enjoyment and realism of the game.
Some people shoudl just play with binary at home if that goal is a stat fix.0
