You should write to your member of Parliament, asking they do something to pump up the value of your money.
    It's called a "Loon", right?

    ps: still like my horse

    One google search later

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_dollar

You just used the 3 letters. I'm sorry but the Canadian Loon or Dollar or whatever isn't a global juggernaut.
Try googling CAD and you'll see all of the first few dozen results referring to Computer Aided Drafting or Computer Aided Design.

Clearly my fault because I didn't have my mind reading hat on when I read your post.
He was clearly talking about prices, so CAD referred to his currency or country. Googling "cad currency" or "cad dollar" returns Canadian dollars in the first result. Googling "cad" returns a Wikipedia page for computer-aided design with the following note at the top:
"CAD" redirects here. For other uses, see CAD (disambiguation).
For the currency, see Canadian dollar.

Don't blame other people for your poor Google skills.

I'm in Canada and bought 1500 crowns for 17.99, my horse cost 900 crowns. Didn't see the need to spend on one of the more expensive mounts.

I don't care what you're riding and I don't care what I'm riding to be completely honest but the idea of ONE in-game item costing more than the actual purchase of the game in a b2p model is insanity.

Don't buy this garbage as it sets precedent for things that I actually might be interested in.

"Oh, that guy/girl bought a $30 mount. They must be ok with a $60 DLC that is 2 hours worth of content".

I paid about US$79 for ESO back when it was pre-purchased (Imperial Edition).
I paid US$25 for the horse.
Lemme do the math.... Carry the one....
yeah, so I paid less than a third of the price of the game for a novelty item.

You sure did but that's because you pre-ordered. Pre-orders didn't know how bad the game would be at launch. I was among them lol. Sure, we had a rough estimate but man they blew us away with those rollbacks and bank emptying bugs! The game is sitting at $33.20 right now. Just a bit above the cost of the Crowns required to get the chilly willy horse.

I'm glad that you find honor in paying for something that you don't have to but I guess charitable donations to cash cow corporations make some people who have a sense of value cringe. I have some toenail clippings that I'll sell to you for $14.99 a month. I can send you a full batch every 4-6 weeks! I'll assume the check is in the mail. Thanks!
They also have a different team developing content for DLC and other content.
I loved this part! Could have fooled me bud! :smirk: Where is it for the last year +? ESO releases 6 pieces of content. A f2p mmo with a smaller studio that is it's direct competition on PS4 releases 28. Want to know how many months they had to delay production when they launched on PS4? None. Business as usual. They even upgraded some of the graphic fidelity while they were at it.
And there is an entire "gimme gimme" attitude in the teens now-a-days.
In a time when people won't go to the store to buy a tv series or movie - they'll just download it for 'free' (i.e. pirate).
Same for an expensive program. "I want Office 2013 - I'll see if I can download it from a Warez site..."

When you say teens I'm assuming that you just mean young people in general as I doubt the game really has that many teens in it's midst. I could be wrong though and that's fine. If not then my bad but if that's the case do you want me to get off your lawn too? Sorry I'm not going to pay for something from Zenimax before there are any solid details about it. This has nothing to do with age, generation, occupation or whatever. It's smart consumerism. They have burnt me once already. If they burn me again then there's no one to blame but myself and I'm not stupid.

I also am confused by the movie pirating generalization. I'd say a good majority of my friends enjoy Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime among other streaming services. There are a lot of options out there for movies and especially for music. There's no need to pirate so I'm not sure I understand your demographic generalization.
People in random dungeon and raid groups KICKED people from the group if they were wearing a hat. That is just stupid crazy. Sounds like the same kind of mentality going on here.

I'm not disrespecting anyone that bought the horse if they enjoy it. I take issue with this mentality that we owe ZOS something beyond purchasing the game where they have not earned it. (See toenail clipping example. My toenails are not worth $15 a month.) Sure, costumes, mounts, services and future content like dungeons or trials should cost something reasonable and those purchases contribute. I have no problem with that at all but I want to make it painfully clear that I wish for this not to become precedent for charging far too much for content DLC which is a very real possibility. Hopefully that won't happen.

I'd also like to see some quality updates every 4-6 weeks. That was one of many commitments that ZOS made and broke. Every now and then I have to check my calendar to see how many weeks it's been. I could have sworn they said 4-6 weeks but it's starting to seem like they fibbed to sell me a game. /sarcasm :smirk:

I was pretty astonished when I saw the price. Only just the other day I was ( thankfully ) comparing the fact that ESO horses were only about 900-2500 crowns, compared to something like, some of Neverwinter's mounts, some of which are upwards of $40 ea (AUD) which is about 4000 zen.
Then I logged in this morning, saw the ice horse price and sighed.

If people like it, and buy it, then that's good luck to them. But I'm not going to, and it is definitely way overpriced.

I laugh at anyone i see riding these overpriced mounts. I wish people would stop buying this garbage. There is no incentive for ZoS to create content if people are paying 3000 crowns for a bad looking horse.

3k crowns is really steep for a mount, so I had to say no. People will pay it, but that doesn't change the fact it's an absurd price. As others have mentioned, that's half the price of the game itself, and twice as much as the monthly subscription. It's especially not a good price for the new mount, which is basically the nightmare horse with a different color scheme.

Yes, I think it's fairly priced, why? Because for one, they're trying to not flood the server with the mount, because lets face it, not everyone is going to dish out the money to buy one, so they make it cost a little more and make it have a short amount of time to get one. Will I buy one? No, doesn't fit any of my characters, would I buy it if it did, yes, in a heartbeat. Why? Because they need money and I don't mind helping them keep the game running.

No, but some of us still pay for a sub. In some cases more than one. I think most people are well aware that the game can't survive on "bubble gum and duct tape", without needing to have Zeni resort to overpricing store items.

    Yes
I think it's fairly priced because 1. It's limited (we'll see if it's truly limited in the future but for now I'm willing to bet it will be truly limited.) 2. It's a completely cosmetic item that has no bearing on gameplay. 3. The game is BTP you pay once and if you don't want to you never have to pay another dime for out of the box content. 4. Paying for content like this helps fund the game and keeps the doors open at the studio securing jobs. Really at the end of the day Zenimax Online is a privately owned company that can charge any amount of money they want for items like this as long as they don't force people to buy it. So yes in IMO it's totally acceptable.

In WoW, mounts go for US$25. I just bought 3000 crowns for exactly AU$25 (about US$20).
I feel the dollar values you put in your vote/poll are biased and misleading.

    I just bought the horse.
It doesn't make me do more dps.
I don't earn xp faster than someone else.

    I just liked it.

It makes a crunching sound when you ride on it.

Yeah but in wow they are special mount with unique desing. They arent recolored horse . If there was any effort put on zos part for that mount I would voted Yes but thinking its only a special colored horse. I go for a nono. way to priced for that.

I remember guys warning of this before launch when Imperial were found behind a pay wall. Then everyone said they were crazy, that ZOS wouldn't ever go f2p or b2p so it wouldn't happen. Well, hope yall like the pay wall.... Cause it's a cummin quick.

I don't see a problem here, except for people whining about "it's not fair, I can't afford one" .. how folks like that get through real-life is beyond me.

I have no intention of buying this entirely lore-breaking mount, like I didn't but the firery one, but if ZOS insist on doing it then I'm fine for them to charge a lot of money for it, it'll limit the number of the damned things I have to endure and make a bit of cash to help them making new content .. er .. yeah, okay, give to their overlords at ZM.

That being said, for the amount of money I earn from my salary, I cannot justify the expense for this Horse but I am sure there are rich players that can pay 3000 crowns for something which offers no real satisfaction. (Asides from showing off to others that you have a blue horse)

I think it's a very high price, but then on the other hand, it has no balance effects and there's absolutely no game effect to the item, so if they can find people that are willing to pay for it, why not. Milk them whales!

I have more issues with the pricing on some of the items that ARE beneficial, like the XP pots or horse training pots, because those actually influence the game. The horse training being the biggest offender since horse speed/stamina directly has an effect in PVP, hence more money = better odds in PVP.

The ice horse cannot smite my enemies, it cannot carry more, it cannot go faster, it cannot lay golden eggs.

I might have bought this if it were half the price. I'm not lacking in crowns on my account but I will not buy it. I don't want to encourage ZOS to think that this sort of pricing is acceptable for anything.

I voted YES, because The Frost mare mount is on the edge of being sort of Immersion breaking. I find it very cool, and well done, but in all honnesty, it clash a bit with everything else (same with the Fire Horse).
As the Frost Mare is a bit "clashy" - "immersion breaking" - "too WhiteWalkerish" I think the price and the fact it's a limited edition compensate this.
