What to do when people insist on griefing

So let me get this straight. OP, after grinding Goblins for hours past 2AM, takes serious offense at others of his faction barging into "his cave" to which he has laid claim.

So he takes the time to log onto an alt and get into the same campaign, and then proceeds to try and grief said person for an hour or so. Then takes screenshots and makes a long post about it here.

Somehow I sense there are much, much deeper underlying issues going on here, that have nothing to do with a game.

at the end i will like to spend one more word: is just a very bleak fact to change faction in pvp to get this kind of revenge.
be at the top food chain in a game is like to be a drop of water in a ocean. another good reason to leave this game.

    good night, good luck.

This is not what I expected when I signed up for a RvR game.

Things like this make me wonder if there can ever be "realm pride" like there used to be in DAOC. I just don't think it's possible with a megaserver. Logging on another faction's character to kill a realm mate... I guess it is a solution, but two wrongs don't make a right.

Unfortunately, this is also why Imperial City is going to pale in comparison to Darkness Falls. Why work with your realm to open up IC, when you can just jump to new campaign where it might already be open.

The entire idea of putting megaserver + RvR together is badly flawed.

So I was at cracked wood cave working on getting my AD sorcerer to v14 when a large group of AD kept showing up and ruining the xp. We asked them kindly to leave, and when they responded back rudely, I got on my EP sorcerer and killed them all. This continued, they would keep coming back and I would keep killing them until it was down to just two more AD that kept coming back relentlessly, just trying to ruin our xp.

So, instead of killing them every 5 minutes, I decided to get to the "root" of the problem
    My%20Swamp.png

After holding them there for about 40 minutes, they both left. Something tells me they won't be bothering us again for a while.

If either of them are reading this, then all I have to say is thanks for playing! It gave me quite a good laugh :kissing_heart:

This is glorious. But you shouldn't get mad when you're PvE-ing in a PvP zone and somebody kills you.

You could have just left to go north to Vahtacen or south to Bloodmayne Cave. Instead you chose to grief players for 40 minutes because they didn't leave at your command?

98% of the time the ESO PvP community is great, but it's the 2% who do things like this that make me shake my head.

If the braggart is blatantly showing his use of that spears snare to immobilize people in water, that's pretty close to being bragging about exploiting.

Lol funny thing is that ZOS probably doesn't even know that if you get snared/immobilized in water you can take no actions whatsoever.

I loved reading through this thread, and I will admit what German is doing here is quite genius. When I finished my grinding last night I did the same thing but a bit differently, I "Multi-faction Grinded", AKA had an AD friend (I'm DC) grind with me, so we were both getting XP, but he was killing the DC for me and I was killing the AD for him, its a wonderful system, I highly recommend it for private cracked wood sessions lel.

Edit: If only they had been argonians

Yeah I am pretty much done with any input here, I could keep defending my position but it's apparent that people will take it however they want, some will get angered and some will laugh (like I intended :) )

Now I am just sitting back and basking in the salt this thread has unearthed

Its fairly obvious that this is an exploit and ought to have consequences for the guilty parties. Willful and deliberate abuse of game mechanics.

    ...

Using it is not an exploit. It provides a concrete advantage in killing an enemy that let themselves end up in the scenario.

    However,

Most companies would probably treat using such a mechanic to lock players out of being able to do anything for 40 minutes of game time to constitute griefing and unintended use of game mechanics.

Fortunately though, ZOS does not enforce anything for the worst of offenders, so something as low-grade as this is good for a laugh without repercussions.
Doubt that either player in the screenshot reported OP, or that ZOS would have responded even if they did. abJKAbW.gif

ZOS probably doesn't know it works this way.

It's obviously just another broken thing.

Not only does ZOS take no action on even the worst of offenders, they let them post of the forums bragging about their exploits. Well, by exploits I mean their truthless version of what happened... and you can't call them out for it.

Like if let's say a certain color used lag exploits to make an entire map unplayable last night and make it so no keeps could be taken from them, they would be here claiming they won heroically. If you dare to say something like "you lagged the entire map intentionally until people just quit the game (and some probably quit for good)" you are the one ZOS takes action on. It's so laughable.

Before buy to play I got stuck in the waters outside Bloodmayne. Usually you can type /stuck, but I had a player light attacking me.

I submitted a ticket when it became apparent he was griefing me. Within a minute I had a whisper from a GM and a few seconds later the player fell over dead and I was ported to the Northern Morrowind gate.

All the players had to do is /stuck or better just transfer to your guest campaign. You can do this while in combat.

Then just port back, go in the *front* door and (try to) exact your vengeance.

I had a terrible VR14 NB trying to gank Cinn and I on our lowbies in CWC last night (how the hell do you fail at ganking people with 20K hitpoints as a VR14 nightblade when they're engaged in AoE grinding dozens of mobs?). After dying a half dozen times and crying to her that he was being "teamed up on" by us he proceeded to call in 4 other players to help.....and got wiped again. I think ESO wouldn't be half as fun as it is without the typical nightblade player that comprises 80% of the whine tells you receive from players.
