and that is my problem with the game..the entire time line of the game( end of second era) is wrong and we already know what is gonna happen not just to factions but also major characters like mad god and king of worms(ES oblivion)..so basically gold and silver are just put in the game to increase the play time and that is it.

Yep, this game really should have been set in the future, not the past. My suspicion is that Bethesda wasn't willing to sign off on that though so that they can keep making TES single player games without having to take into consideration anything at all from ESO.

I, for one, just can't do that. The story and the lore actually matters to me.

It's a stupid game mechanic, IMO, and I refused to participate in it.

Once I beat Molag Bol, Sir Pot-on-Head invited me to become some nobody to fight against the folks I'd spent all that time championing.

I invited him to pound sand, logged off, and created an alternate character.

And I salute you! Seriously, even the people who "like" it only "like" it because they don't have to make a new character to experience the content but I've NEVER heard anyone say, "Yeah it's a GREAT and totally logical storyline! Makes perfect sense!" At best you get, "I like that I can see all 3 factions on the same character but it's a stupid idea and why can't these areas just be cross faction?"

Pretty much same thing here. I play the other factions with alts.

To be fair, he says "hey, would you like to know how it would have gone had you landed in with another faction?". So it's more like a "what-if?". Granted, it would be nice to have another avenue for people who don't wish to do that. Also a way to snag all those skyshards and skill points waiting to be had too.

Now as far as fun-ness goes, my main is VR10 and tank spec, and it was pretty much a grind to get where he is at now. My stamina DK I am having so much fun playing, I am just enjoying the content more, and will even go around "grinding" a bit because killing mobs with him is the best I've had with any of my characters. Heck he might actually just become my main...

It would have been much more enjoyable if the majority of the side quests didn't feel so copy/pasted between alliances. How many times will our heroes help an npc only to discover they were the bad guys all along?

What I didnt like about Caldwell's Silver was when I was ask if I wanted to see how it was with another faction,I wasnt given a choice of places to go. I wound up in the one place I cant stand the most.Glenumbra.May the Gods forgive me,but I really do not like the place or its quests. Its hard to get people to group with you there for some reason, though they love to gather in the city and bounce around showing off their armor and pets and mounts, etc. (and many of them do look great!)
I wish we were given one of two things:
    1. A drop down of options as to where you wind up.
2.The ability to go to any area on the map you would like to go.Open it up,period.

(I wonder what happens if you decline the offer.)

That's so funny since I'm DC and feel the same way about AD. :) But yes, I really wish there were a way to answer Cadwell with, "No! I have ZERO desire to see how it would be for the other side! Back to Coldharbor with you, ya nut!"

I wished for this also. I have, since, taken up the challenge and am in my final Gold zone... but it has felt uncomfortable, forced... contrived since I left Coldharbour. I truly wish that you were offered an option after completing the main quest of either (in reverse order of preference):

    1) Choose to go on Silver & Gold but with the chance to choose which you went to first.
    2) A completely open map.
    3) The ability to stay in your own faction and assist the people there with their calamities and, possibly, the war effort.

Any of the above solutions would be better than the railroading we have at the moment.

If they opened up cross faction for Gold and Silver I don't think most of us would complain any longer even if we do think the whole Gold and Silver thing is the stupidest cop out excuse for end game content ever. You hit VR1, you can go anywhere, and the quests just scale to level. And you FINALLY get to play with players from the other factions. THAT would be AMAZING.

I don't mind them for the most part. But then, I haven't gotten around to making my characters for the DC and EP factions (I want one in every faction, eventually). I'm guessing the quests are all the same? I would hope they would be at least a bit more creative than that, but then I honestly wouldn't be surprised. It will probably get repetitive, though, doing the same quests three or more times. If that is the case, I will most likely not level my second and third characters past their starting faction.

Someone else brought up an excellent modification that could work in Sir Pot-on-Head's jewelry quests, so I'll paraphrase it:

    1. When you get to the point where the prophet currently prepares you to face Molag Bol, he laughs in your face, reminds you that Mr. Bol is a Daedric Prince of immense power, and you're pathetic in comparison and nowhere near ready to face him, even with uber-infusion of superpowers.

    2. The Prophet then steers you to Sir Pot-on-Head, who tells you that the other two factions have seen the light, understand Mr. Bol is a clear and present danger, and they've agreed to help ...

    3. ... if you join them in their current quests to quell insurrection, zombies, bad guys and such in their own lands, quests becoming significantly tougher, since Mr. Bol is personally involved in thwarting your every move.

    4. After completing Sir Pot-on-Head's now updated versions of Silver and Gold, you are then ready to take a Special Forces super-team composed of the best of all three factions against a now weakened Mr. Bol

... resulting in an epic battle against Molag Bol, wherein you can group with up to three other players (scalable difficulty with each additional player), and a true endgame you can then say, "Oh heck yeah!"

I haven't rolled toons for the other factions, which I originally thought I would do. But because I'll have already played all that content on my main I feel no incentive to. If "end game content" is going to consist, even in part, of doing quests then they need to get their writers to work and start developing NEW quests that DON'T make you go on to betray your own faction in some strange alternate universe that is supposed to do...what? Make your character grow as a person? LOL
I'm having difficulty motivating myself to play my main precisely because I want to level a faction appropriate character through those storylines.

I've done both. I had gotten stuck on Mannimarco with a Sorceror before 1.6 so I'd levelled a healer Templar up past him and into Silver. Then having learnt how to fight Mannicrappo I levelled the Sorceror past him. Once I broached Silver with the Templar I wondered how well the other two classes would handle the content so I've levelled one of the DK's and one of the NB's up to Region 4 each and as soon as I'm finished with Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 I'll get back into levelling them (ROFLMAO yeah, right, that'll be this time next year :D )

    You don't, no.
You can spend you time grinding in Craglorn, Cyrodiil, or dungeons to level up your character. And you get plenty of skyshards before level 50 and in those places I just mentioned for your character. There's no need to complete any of the other alliances if you don't want to.

I think you misunderstand the OP then. It doesn't ask you if you don't want to be able to explore the other lands. It asks if you like Cadwell's Silver and Gold...which is the way that exploration is implemented.

I've just started Silver for the second time and ye gods is it horrible. And here's the part that really sucks, even the XP scrolls in the crown store won't really help you get through it any faster. Why? Because you have to do all the main story quests no matter what! So it's not like you can outlevel a zone and just go on to the next one. Noooo.... you're forced to do ALL those quests! Nightmarish I tell you! Let me just grind WITHOUT doing the darned quests ZoS! I'll buy your darned XP scrolls just to get out of there!!!!

I played through every quest I could find for the most part on my first character. I did gold and silver all the way through. But once that was done, I just try and blitz every alt through the main story line as quickly as possible to unlock Gold and then go grind the rest of the way to VR14. It would be nice if we weren't locked into one alliance when we're given silver. I'd like to travel wherever I want in whatever order I want once Molag Bal is done.

I don't think that would be such an issue if you didn't have to do any of the quests to gain access to the last set of zones. I'd rather they didn't remove 172 skyshards from the game (and they can't redistribute them because then there would be too many in one zone).

Yeah, i think thats the thing that could be improved.

When you finish your own faction/storyline/fighters'n'mages questlines you can travel to both caldwell silver and gold areas (using caldwell in harborage) but the zones will be of appropriate scale. Caldwell silver will still be VR1-VR5 zone and gold will be VR6-VR10.

Players will be able to travel there and discover locales, do any quest BUT when VR1 will travel to last area of caldwell gold with VR10 mobs there is a chance he will be getting slaughtered.

Smart players will do their businesses and when killed, they would just move along and eventually get to higher lvl to match zone lvl. This way every player will have access anywhere and wont be obligated to do any quest in caldwell zones. And if they choose to do so, they will grind experience somewhere else

The opposite group of players would immediately start whining and crying on forums demanding to nerf caldwell silver/gold or introduce some stupid scaling, because they 'couldn't expect' that in VR10 zone VR1 might have troubles. Add to that whining that they must grind monsters to lvl up and it takes them so much time (but of course they didnt do any caldwell silver/gold quest).
