A Polite Request to Mr Wheeler and the PVP Team

Gents & Ladies & @ZOS_BrianWheeler

A small request if I may.

Would it be at all possible, for the sake of sanity, that you wonderful people could or would consider, for the next update, adding a very small few lines of code, that would allow the Ballista's and Trebs to actually stack like the Wall Repair kits?

It would make life a LOT easier when swapping characters around within PVE to PVP?

I ask for next to nothing here in ESO and the forums, but this would make many people exceptionally happy if you think you could manage it :)

Many thanks for reading.

This was talked about once before. The fact that siege has health makes the stacking of siege a lot more difficult than "a few lines of code". Brian Wheeler doesn't have anything to do with item stacking, you'll need to address someone else. Also i believe ZOS"S answer was that your suggestion is not going to happen.

We had them stacking at one point but the way the stacking rules work and how Siege engines have health, it would completely change the health of the entire stack when restacking, or auto-heal the weapon. Both of those situations are not what we want. It has been brought up again recently, but no dice on getting those issues fixed at this time.

As Brian said, due to the nature of siege weapons there is no viable way to stack them. However, @ZOS_BrianWheeler , have you and the team considered implementing separate storage for things such as siege and repair materials?

Or just have us have one and rely on repair kits, like real life.
Or make them a once dropped they are used untill destroyed and can never be picked up.

What about only being able to stack unused ones?

EVE Online style with assembled and packages items?

You once an item is used for the first time it becomes one which doesn't stack prior to that they're stackable.

To friends and opponents as well, this one offers some advice, when switching to PvE, mail your siege items to a friend with a subject line "return siege" or "return PvP" or . . . .

If your friend does as you ask, and you use the mail within 30 days you are good.

This one is glad to help.
Please come and enjoy the PvPs! Join your friends, scrimmage against my friends!

@TheFelidzeb In fairness, we can always create work arounds. It's not hard, but it's not a long term solution.

@Pecivilis Good question. Although the thought of building that into the present system has probably made a few Devs and coders shake their heads and jump out of windows :dizzy:

Something I have noticed @ZOS_BrianWheeler is it's the same problem with the Blue Pots you can buy with a "Random Item" in them. They do not stack, yet, they have no health attributes either. Once opened, and you have removed the item, then it does actually stack if you have 2+ of the same item.

Would it not be possible to have the Sieges/Ballista's in a similar "Pot" and have the pots stack - so when they are opened to be used....cool....they are individual items with their health.

Are you trying to carry 30+ siege or something? I tend to keep about dozen assorted types on me in Cyrodiil. It's easy enough to restock as needed.

For PvE, you can store your extra siege in the bank. There's a banker right in Cyrodiil.

its fine, there is no need to be able to stack multi copys of several ton weapons of mass midevil destruction in your magical blackhole of a bag.

the bag is silly enough as it is but its a MMO so that can slide, if you managed to at least let full Health seige stack that would still be a bad idea as the inventory constraint is one of the few things that counters excessive seige use, and does a pretty good job of that.

Agree entirely. It's a good thing that people can't stack siege.

Would it be possible to at least see how damaged siege is when mousing over it in our inventory? Seems like a simple quality-of-life thing that would make people be able to better manage their loadouts for Cyrodiil.

How about a seperate bank stash for pvp items such as siege weapons, repair kits etc so a seperate part of the bank that can only be used to stash these pvp items.

How about adding a new bag just for alliance war items that has a different bag space and does not affected from your normal bag? Just like quest items.
Sounds like a middle way, good for everyone :D

I kinda like the fact that they dont stack, sure it takes up alot of space in your bag but at the same time this generally prevents one player from carrying around a portable armada.

Ya I agree with this, proposed it at one point but never got traction. Give us a seige sack let us grow the inventory space with AP or have it grow as your Alliance Rank increases. A General or Grand Overlord should be able to carry more seige than a Volunteer.

@ZOS_BrianWheeler Why not just stack the 100% SW and anything below 100% gets moved out of the stack? Wait... I know. You're busy working on pve content for the Imperial City.

Or you could just not allow used seige to be stacked.

Thanks for popping in here! I saw a brief time or two that they would stack on the test server, but that explains why it didn't make it live... sounds like there's enough work involved in making them directly that some of the other thoughts in this thread might be good solutions?
I kinda like the fact that they dont stack, sure it takes up alot of space in your bag but at the same time this generally prevents one player from carrying around a portable armada.

With 170 bag slots, it really doesn't have that effect. It's just an annoyance/QoL snag that makes you have to vendor before going out to fight, or grab your siege from the mail and bounce it. People would still carry around the same number of siege they always did, but just have less hassle as a result.

I do like the idea of packaged/unpackaged siege as a relatively easier to implement option, as it can essentially be (on the game end of things) a consumable that then gives you the appropriate siege weapon when used, and the consumable would be the only stackable thing.

Longer-term, I'd love to see separate crafting materials, consumables, and alliance war item bag slots that can be expanded and/or unlocked with more and more space as you do crafting/pvp/etc. in addition to the normal ones. It was a suggestion a few of us made way back when and would still be a nice improvement today :D.
