I am an Imperial templar. I want to heal. I can't heal because I'm Imperial. I have to be Breton to heal. The difference in effectiveness is that of two full pieces of legendary gear.

Give me my race change option. I'll pay 2500 crowns.
End the tedious inventory management game.

im pretty sure its not that extreme. i have a Imperial Sorc mage and yes i notice the differance that a exact same setup can get with altmer, but i can still manage high DPS.... and Altmer is better than breton honestly... unless you intend to offtank?

anyways i would love to change that Imperial sorc to a Altmer.... it was fun as stam and was definitly top teir for stam DPS sorc... but as a mage its subpar.

Race change should not be allowed, even for crowns. It removes the huge impact of being a specific race. There do need to be body/face changes though

This thread title is deliberately misleading, and frankly untrue. Please refrain from doing that. Seriously, rumor-mongering is not helpful to anyone.

To clarify, we have not said "No race change, no racial re-balancing." We have stated (both here on the forums and in ESO Live) that we are starting with small adjustments to existing racial passives, first.

I hope race change will never be an option. It's just too ridiculous to contemplate.

its in the lore dude, there are in game quests that deal with it, so obviously not "too ridiculous to contemplate"

I'm sorry. Let me rephrase that. It's too ridiculous to contemplate that race change will be turned into a commonplace thing. Just because there is precedent in the lore is not an argument to devote a game mechanism to it.

You're not an Imperial templar. You have a character who is. If you feel you need to have a breton as a healer, roll another character. Choices have consequences. Deal with it.

That's what I'd say to someone who genuinly meant what you said. But you were being sarcastic, right? Please say you were!

The problem is the tooltips. When you make a character for the very first time, you had no clue what it ment. I made an orc, and all I saw was good in heavy armor.
15% more experienced with heavy armor have nothing to do with end game. All 3 armor types are level 50 when you are about veteran 3 or something, if you level it right.
The reason health regen isnt overpowered atm, is because the current meta have 1 or more healers in whatever group. So you will get a burst heal too 100% when you lost some health.

Stamina and magicka regen does not have a burst recovery other then shards, magicka orb, maybe heavy attacks or redguard passive etc.. Thats why those regeneration are more worth.

If you do content solo, or are a tank without healer, the health regen is really really good.

Why do you need to be a breon to heal? the 3% reduce cost? You get that amount for investing 5 champion points or something. Health is good, too good.. stamina is good, you need it for break free and blocking even when you heal. A friend of mine is redguard healer, and you really notice bonus stamina as a magicka user as well.. But I didnt mean to lead this to negative, just wanted you to know that imperial healers can be really good, and no need to reroll because of that.

I wish they would remove ALL racial passives; then the continual crying about nerf/buff/race change would stop.

No, that is a terrible option. Rift did this and it ruined the game for me. During beta it was awesome when my dwarf could cast a really small heal over time. On launch they entirely removed using any racials in pvp combat and it was a stupid decision. Not only that, but they changed the dwarf racial to be lowered fall damage instead??? That had me scratching my head. From a nice, useful racial that was on par with others, to the most useless racial in the game.

Racials add a lot of flavour. They need to keep them.

It defeats the entire purpose of playing the game. If you can pay to change your race - why not make it so you can pay to skip 50 levels?

I have the goal of creating the ultimate character. Every skyshard, max every class ability (And BOTH of it's morphs), max every weapon skill line (And BOTH of it's morphs), every armor skill line, all the mages/fighters skill lines (And BOTH of their morphs).

I'm a Breton and it's fairly apparent that even with the Best In Slot Magic legendary gear setup I have, stamina is still a superior setup (For the moment).

I don't want to have to re-level another Nightblade just to have one who can be specced for a Stamina build simply to remain competitive.

Not to mention then I would have to split my pvp experience across two characters. Talk about a total nightmare.

I didn't make anything up, though. There are no race changes or rebalancing in the next major update. What's inaccurate about that?

Also, before they made I seem like they were going to include race change when they rebalance the racial passives. Now, that's no longer the case. Now, it's something they're still thinking about. To me, that's a change in their message on this issue.

Thank you! You get it. It's a huge pain to have to do everything over. I don't get why people feel like we need to be punished for a choice we made in a game, in many cases, a year ago when the game launched.

The real issue for the people against it is that they don't want to lose their advantage. Why else would they be so against it? It in no way affects them. How would they even know if a character had once been some other race? There's really just no good argument against race change.

So ZOS has decided to bury my topic by not allowing it to bump to the front page after someone posts. Is this thread really such a PR nightmare or is my assessment of the situation corrrect?! The latest comments are a departure from what we were told before. My conclusions were correct! It is a flip-flop!

I doubt they will become flying unicorns or be able to summon Molag Bal. However......

Who is to say that Argonians don't become some crazy reincarnation of Molag Bal.....

    Introducing the new passives:

    - Restoration Expert: Argonians receive all major and minor buffs when consuming a crown store potion.

    - Amphibious: Agonians receive 500% boost to swim speed and ignore all damage taken while swimming...including Slaughterfish damage.

    - Argonian Resistance: When hit with Jesus Beam, Argonian fragments into smaller pieces blasting caster into the air and backwards for 1 million fall damage.

    - Quick to mend: At 50% health, Argonian vanishes from sight to recover health while summoning an army of Daedric Titans to rampage his enemy.
