What About A Roleplay Server?

May I ask - and I mean this sincerely - what you would expect from a roleplay server? How would you expect people to behave? What would you do if someone "acted out"?

If you want suggestions, then perhaps you should begin by defining what you feel roleplay is and how a roleplay server would operate. Several people dancing without armor in the Daggerfall fountain could be "roleplay".

What if you have someone who's roleplaying killing all the mob? Or roleplaying a cross-over from WoW or some other game?

I'm assuming you'd want restrictions and rules, which begs the question: who makes the rules? AND you want an entire server of this?

I mean this is sincerely and in the nicest way possible: the fighting would never, ever end. And I don't mean fighting mobs.

I don't understand the notion that I single handedly want some sort of server all to myself to control or something. This is simply an attempt at a discussion of what the entire community would like to see out of something like an rp server or channel or otherwise and how WE ALL think, collectively, how it could run. Asking my opinion on what I strictly believe does nothing but instigate a debate I am uninterested in starting. I like the ideas people have thrown around about instanced rp and rp channels. I also welcome the information that role play was one of the promised topics discussed at pc launch thank you for the information though I am saddened it is no longer a priority, this game has great potential and I would be sad if they never breeched the topic again

I am not here to dictate how I want things done. I simply want a discussion on what YOU guys think.

Wow calm down. He was trying to explain to you that this is a megaserver setup so it's not possible to do.

Rather than a separate server, which I also imagine would be too costly, I think that your idea of a separate role play channel could work nicely. That, coupled with an ignore function to silence the trolls, would server your needs i think.

A lot on the forums use every opportunity to post vacuous comments to put down other people's ideas. Gotta ignore them. The worst thing that you can do to a troll is to ignore them!

please stop rehashing these comments thank you. The comment was directed at another poster but I had forgotten to use the quote system. Human error but the point is still there. Please stay on topic. I cannot ask in a politer fashion. Comments like these do nothing but clutter and I do not feel Iike continuously defending my thread. I would like to stay on topic. If you have any ideas pertaining to the topic feel free to provide some constructive criticism on that.

Yes. Please. The creation of an RP Megaserver (the current labeled a non-RP Megaserver) and an opportunity to transfer current characters would be fantastic.
