On topic, I think that the WoW groups trinity thing has gotten even worse over the last year. A lot of people flat out refuse to adapt to changing circumstances these days. Often times if the group wipes just once or twice, or even if the only issue is the boss isn't dying in ten seconds, I see somebody rage quit because "you guys suck we dont have the deeps for this". Well, yeah, that's what happens when the DPS people spend more time dead than alive and fighting, or when the tank drags the boss everywhere except where he needs to be, or when the healer suffers a crash to desktop mid fight, or when boss mechanics are just completely ignored because you think overpowering him with damage is the only way to succeed.

Interestingly enough, the groups I've been in that are willing to adapt and work with what we've got have a MUCH easier time than the groups full of min/max trinity types.

This whole tank business is just, well.. crap.

What I'm saying is that having one player that can pull all threat is silly. The world just does not work like that.

I agree in the sense that no one person could realistically hold aggro on a whole group.

However for an experienced group in ESO the tank tries to get the major groups/baddies and mostly keep them focused away from the rest of the party.

Same as a healer tries to keep everyone alive, but when people don't "get out of the red" and use potions - it's not going to be enough.

Great thing about eso is you can play how you want but behind every mmo tanking means dealing minimum damage and taking tons while holding aggro. It's a job everyone chooses to take for the good of the dungeon and when everyone is dedicated to their roles it makes the dungeon go more smoother and knowing these roles makes you even more useful in a raid. If you're off tanking or off healing just you can get into the action and do a little dps then you're not doing your group any good. It's a team effort

Young people. No stamina for the long haul of discussions.

I think that pulling up an old thread can give some insight into how folks have reacted to, dealt with and made suggestion about past ideas/discussions. I think those things are valuable.

And I do think that ESO has a hard time being compared to such different games and titles as WoW and Skyrim.

I know this isn't wow, but I can tank mobs properly with taunts, blocking and no trying to be top dps. The mistake I see a lot is the tank thinks they can't hold the aggro of more than one monster. You can tank it like wow and have everything attacking you no problem. Just because this isn't wow doesn't mean you shouldn't be taunting your balls of vs trying to do dmg.

@newtinmpls Nope, im the anti-necro guy. Its my job to complain about necro threads. Good try though.

(Check the pc thread btw, i actually suggested rezing every thread that is echoed by current console complaints. I would still complain about it though...)
