Controller Disconnect = Zero Character Recovery

DARKNESSCHAINED
Twice now in my experience I have had my controller disconnect while in battle and unable to utilize my controller once reconnected death being the result. I lose ALL control.

Are you sure your not just lagging? The game can behave just this way if you get "disconnected" from the server. Even on the PC it acts like this when lagging or disconnected.

The way I fix it is to reload the game, and accept the death if that is where I am at the time. Note your armor does not degrade all that much from Deaths, it's the mob/quest experience your getting that does most of that.

You should probably mention which console for starters.

I have never seen this on PS4, and I have been playing A LOT since launch. Have not heard of this happening from other guild members either.

Controller disconnect, not server disconnect. The servers do just fine. My internet does just fine. It is simply my controller that once disconnected will NOT activate any character movement nor selections after reconnect. Home button works. Everything works then, but select ESOTU still with NO control.

Xbox? If so controller disconnects have been a consistent problem with Xbox. They did a Xbox patch to fix it several months ago, but everyone I've spoken to still encounters the problem.

I apologize. I did forget to mention that I am utilizing the Xbox One.

Try this, change the batteries or charge the controller. It might help, but maybe not. Of course if your using a wired controller, then batteries are not an issue.

I use official Xbox One controller with regular batteries, I hate those battery packs. I never once have had any controller disconnect issues since I got my Xbox for reasons other than battery power running out.
