Ep just needs more people with that mindset and an option to change factions could work.

I'm as casual as it gets. It just so happens I'm good at being a tryhard. And J, you're awesome. Yeah, I rolled DC because there was nothing left for me on EP. There are plenty of zer.. erm. I mean organized guilds running around already. They no longer, or ever really, needed my help. I've been emp, I made a name for myself, whether it be good or bad. So now I'm moving on, and I'm bringing friends with me. I gagged at the thought of having an AD toon, so figured that being the underdog in just about every server would be the most fun. I've already made plenty of DC friends and look forward to crushing skulls with my enormous sword.

A lot of ep would refuse because they intuitively know they can't play solo or in small groups without their humongous zergs to back up their big talk. I know. I know these guys. I have seen their fragile egos first hand.

I've crushed their egos with my sword. Tore one of the most notorious pug wranglers a new one then challenged him to a 1v1 that he turned down. My first kills at v1 were 2 members of the supposed best guild there is(was). They were separated from their zerg and I was able to flip them like pancakes. Playing against your own faction can be pretty satisfying at times. Of course, I'm usually just being roflstomped by 23904509345 of them. But every now and then I get a good fight in.

I've rerolled a DC DK to try out another class and another side too, but its not just the level and VR grind. If you grind - you miss a huge number of skill points on the way, your horse is unlevelled (unless you pay a stupid amount in the crown shop) and you lose all your alliance skills, and undaunted skills along the way and have to level them from scratch. I'm finding it a bit of a slog to be honest. I'd pay $100 in a heartbeat to transfer my EP sorc over though.

Good point. They can make a LOT more money by getting us to pay for subs (10% bonus) and then buy XP potions to get maximum XP gain.

So why bother trying to solve all those "technical hurdles" they keep talking about when mentioning why Faction Change isn't possible at this time.

Equalizing populations is desperately important, as the death of any faction results in the death of Cyrodiil for all. Faction changes to lower pop factions should be available. Of course, with a predetermined lockout period. This would be ideal for those who are not interested in grinding up brand new toons, all the vet ranks, AR, undaunted, ect ect ect.

However, it seems illogical that ZOS would release anything like this right now. Paying to faction swap through the crown store would deter people from buying xp pots and split the revenue. Why grind up a new toon and buy 5 xp scrolls for 1000 crowns if you can buy a faction swap? Unless faction swaps went for exorbitant amounts of money, these scrolls will be infinitely more profitable.

Unfortunately, if people want to combat the imbalances in population, it will have to come from players. Relying on ZOS to do it for us will leave us disappointed, as it often does.

Too bad it's only one of the worst XP grinds to max level of any MMORPG (after the constant nerfing of quick leveling) since EQ.

Add in wanting Undaunted passives, PVP passives, and everything else this game punishes people who want a second character worse than Dolores Umbridge deals with truancy.

Agreed. Grinding a new toon up is an insane struggle.
