Most Game Developers have regular contact with their playerbase in some form.

The medium that offer the most ease of access, especially after the fact, and that offers the most accountability is direct contact via the Game's Offical Forum.

Which is presumably why ESO opt for the gimmick of video - make it like the game - all style, no substance.

    All The Best

Yes this is what makes me feel like something is empty, the developers don't talk to the player at all in EOS, which is a bummer.

    Possibly.

But they didn't say which July, did they?

They talk all the time, dont hate them becuase you dont know where to read or watch or even listen! Weekly webcasts anyone? Did you even read this post past the first comment? Half of us are telling the other half that its your fault you think they dont communicate. Multiple threads on multiple sites with multiple videos. Hell they even have a damn news letter if you sign up for it.

It like TV, the messages may not seem to be there, until you turn it on and find the channel you want.

I understand you might be busy actually trying to "fix the game" and all, but we have been here asking for answers/clarification on several issues!

You might want to try Reedit. That's where they seem to devote most of their community efforts.

Like you say, it takes 2 mins to reply to some questions concerns, with text chat we want an answer, ideally, "we will add it the future" or although I wouldn't want this "text chat wont be added" as it stands they are leaving both parties in the dark.
Tell us one way or the other, let the few who would quit over this do so, and the rest will adapt with or without it. But please let us know what is going on...

Welcome to our struggle console players. This is exactly how it was for the PC players a year ago. We would ask questions and constantly be ignored. They eventually got (somewhat) better but I see that they still can't handle the forums when the game seems to not be working correctly in the most basic ways. Look up some of the threads from a year ago, it was basically just us begging for some kind of feedback other than a warning for not following the rules of etiquette.

Be it group finder being broken {on console without a chat box this MUST work}.
Then we have invisible NPC's where we have to exit the game entirely just to continue our quest.
Invisible mobs that are annoying as all -blank- <
Voice chat seems to work when it wants to.
Character creation screen not zooming in. I know you said to make another character as a work around but hey..

There are a few more I am sure of, but I am on my first cup of coffee..

My question is WHY have we not had very fluid reactions from your staff.. This kind of thing creates an US vrs THEM relationship with your player base and it is not a good thing to see from such a GREAT game. I know MMO launches are not perfect, but at least the DEV interaction Should be on par with other gaming companies! I mean the least anyone could do is throw us an update as they were on their way to the water cooler or coffee machine. Heck we wouldn't mind if you did it wile going to the bathroom Anything would be better than what we have had.

We know things are not made perfect, but seeing post like this

Honestly scares me to death without any word from you guys before hand that it might be in a future patch. Then if you read that full thread you will see people saying ESO was an inside job and that someone is trying to "Tank the game" <<<That is what not talking to the community opens the door for!!!

I understand ZOS is under a lot of stress right now we all get that. When we "your fans"see other games come out like Never Winter with very few problems and the ones that it did have were openly talked about by the devs then we expect to see it from in a game that we have waited YEARS for!

Again I did not make this as a "Lets all grab hammers and aim for employee nuts here" I just want you fine folks at ZOS to understand the we your fans are getting frustrated with the no communication on YOUR end more than we are with the game having issues!

    [/ZOS Please talk to us!!!/shifteleventyb]

Let me bask in your frustration and tears. Let them warm my insides with yummy goodness as it drains your hope and dreams of this game.

Then let me introduce you to the rest of the PC crowd who will mock you endlessly for your naive optimism while sharing in the draining of your frustration to fuel ours that has been going on for a lot longer than you console noobs.

Also wanted to point out I was supporting the game staying SUBFEE based so wutnow again?

You can ask a ZOS employee to even fact check that for you.. I was an ESO+ even after it was ftp.
I am also ESO+ on console so they are GETTING their monies worth out of me!!

I'm not defending anyone, but I know several game companies that act the same way Zenimax currently does with its player base.I will not name them because that may just put fuel on the fire, but all I know is this the longer the wait for content the bigger the fire between the playerbase and those in zenimax who reply will become. I have no right to say this, but I believe a simple weekly forum post/article to the front page would go a long way to smooth things over.

Or they can continue to use every third party medium instead of their own official forums and channels to keep us aware of what's happening. I absolutely love looking all over the place for information rather than have a direct concise place to find my answers.

I agree somewhat to some of the statements in this thread, but last ESO live had Brain Wheeler on there, he answered a few question went over what he posted a bit, I have watched all 20 shows and always come away with some info, plus I like some of the segments.

I wish they would answer a few more questions, but I think they just don't have an answer to some of the questions, sometimes it is better for them to not say anything than to try to answer some questions, because if they answer a question and something changes, then they get hammered with being called liars or the statement is taken out of context and twisted to mean something they never intended, maybe we have ourselves to blame for them not talking to us as much as they could.
I have never seen a company in all my years of mmo play talk to the community enough according to the community.

Look at these forums even simple harmless conversations turn into something the moderators have to come and post in.

I watched that entire 1 hour 24 minute ..."show".
I am so glad I did too!
At least now I know the answers to SO many questions that IDGAF about.
It seemed like they cherry-picked questions to purposely be able to say "We answered your questions!", but didn't answer any that MEANT aynthing.
The ONLY thing that was of any interest to me was mentioning...that they are patching Console Voice Chat to allow it to SAVE selections/settings for us.

They aren't going to answer all of your questions every week, but if you pose a question on the official thread then there's a decent chance it'll get answered. If you don't pose it, there's an even better chance that it won't get answered! Have you asked your questions there?

Of course they will cherry-pick the questions that they answer, I don't know any developer than wouldn't do that. But then I don't know any other developer that addresses the community live every other week so I think we should give them credit for that at least.

So they accomplish in 90 minutes once every other week what could be accomplished in a 2 paragraph forum post, and we should be thanking them? Info about patches and minor bug fixes don't merit a 90 minute show.

I'd like them to discuss EXACTLY what is being done to fix performance in Cyrodil. Where EXACTLY they are at in development of new content (from E3 2014 lol), and things that people actually want to hear about. I'm sure console folks would like more explanation about not having text chat. There's so many possible topics that it's insulting that they spend 90 minutes talking about anything else.

@kevlarto_ESO I always disagreed with "it is better for them to not say anything than to try to answer some questions" even if they do not have an answer then coming on and saying in a FAQ (that should be a sticky in GD) we do not have an answer at this time but I will do my best to attempt to get one for you guys. What is all comes down to is they need a better PR system.

You call those answers? I call it "beating around the bush"....

I watch it as often as I can. Last week was one of those weeks. It ended and I hadn't a heard a single answer to any truly important question regarding the future of gameplay. All it was to me was more crown store/plushie marketing and some rookie developer talking about his most notable inclusion to the game....the flag capture timer in cyro....with a plushie on his head :s

The only real answer I heard was that content info was coming in July. That's after it was supposed to be coming after E3, after it was supposed to be coming after console release. Oh yea and console bug fixes.

Please enlighten us on the "loads of questions" that were answered.
