I hate griefers...but it sounds like you have lost your way too.
The cave does not have your name on it.
Nor is it instanced as its a public area.

Perhaps they were griefing you because you told them to bugger off in a public area ?

Yup and he did more griefing then they did in the end, though made a great case has to why travel to player is getting removed from the pvp area

I love this as a business model. Small groups can run Cyrodiil PvE tours, with a tour guide and 3-4 "Security Personnel" aka bodyguards. Can charge x-amount for each delve, more for dolmen, and Skyshard hunts would charge a premium (with the lowest fees being the shards within your alliances areas).

Cracked Wood is gonna get nerfed thanks to all this ruckus you guys are causing. Might as well put a post outside the cave saying, "ZoS, great grind spot here!"

I am a little surprised at everyones reactions to something I intended to post for entertainment values.
I guess I was naive when I thought that people would realize that if I wasn't doing it someone else would (someone else always does with game mechanics like this).

I never complained about people coming, it is a competitive spot and they did what they could to kill me. Keep in mind it is a competitive place they were doing all they could to compete with me and try to kill me (beforehand there were v14s coming as well from AD that were unsuccessful).

If I had been defeated and unable to keep control of the grind spot (which isn't a sense of entitlement, it's a sense of me beating these players in a competitive environment given the current game mechanics) then someone else would have come and done exactly what I was doing. In all probability they probably wouldn't have been polite about the whole manner as well.

I never claim to be entitled to the cave. But I am a realist, and I was at the top of the food chain in this situation. When is the last time you saw a wolf politely ask a rabbit to leave their area because the wolf was hunting? (probably never because wolves can't talk or communicate with rabbits)
So please do not come here with an air that most people would not do the same if they didn't have the means, given current game mechanics and how things work.

I wouldn't take the time to log in on a other char and run all the way to cracked wood cave I would of wait till they left or went to a different server but thats just me. besides that Im loyal to one faction dc struggle faction and I'm used to running miles to get there but once I get there I do everything within my power to not die and have to run again and have ep friends telling me of the rage in ep zone chat about kloud and Richard owning the cave come help... as group after group fails to take it from us its real fun pvp and that's why I like lvling there and it's not griefing it's pvp german did nothing wrong and nither did the other guys welcome to cryodiil is all I can say if you don't wanna die to players grind in a pve zone

I see no issue here? He wants the XP so he's not wasting his time or dealing with leeches, so he kills them.

They could either leave or win the fight.

It's not charity or the whole "well everyone can come to the delve". Sure they can, and they can fight over the grind. Don't like it, go back to PvE land.

No different than when a player would ask a friend to come clear them out.

The issue is that he admittedly asked people to leave a public area, and accused *them* of griefing when they told him to sod off. So he logs an alternate faction toon to punish them for daring to defy his request, then opens a brag thread about.

Clearly cyro delves are survival of the fittest, and these AD were found lacking, that's a feel good outcome for all fans of pvp. And I love a story about a solo sorc wrecking yellows as much as the next guy...probably more. It's the framing of the story that is rubbing people wrong.

The thing is this was at a very dead time for NA, it was around 2 AM ish (central), and the other delves would be empty (I normally grind at dead times to avoid confrontation) so it would have been an easy swap and everyone would have gained decent xp, instead of the xp being halved for all players in there. Yes, neither of us had a "claim" on the cave, but given the fact that we had been there for a while already and my partner and I were getting tired, we just asked them to leave just as we asked the group before them. They were coming back over and over and asking us "how do you like your xp now?" and questions of the sort. When I say it was completely out of spite and no other rational, I am being completely sincere. Even when we had them in the water, they were still asking my partner how the grinding was going and turned from hostile to bitter because they realized what was happening at that point. I am not claiming to be a saint, but I am saying that these people were just being hateful for whatever reason, and they got what was coming to them.

I don't know how this came off as a bragging thread, as I just wanted to show people doing things out of spite getting what was coming to them - being rooted in the water in this case.

I have to say I hate the AD I see farming Cracked wood cave. Normally when I see DC or EP enter I'll let them clean up the AD for me before killing them.

I know of a few other high profile players from other factions who had their AD chars griefed by AD in CWC.

Good things can only come of PvP when it happens to people trying to farm in Cyrodiil.

I don't have a problem with you defending your grind spot, most of us would/do, but I'm not sure I see the need to post it or brag about it. Now we get to have a controversy about grind spots, cross faction alts, and travel to player mechanics. This is exactly the kind of thing that gets all of those nerfed.

Also, the "If I don't do it, someone else will" excuse wears thin very quickly. You could use that reasoning to excuse literally anything.

No one should be gaming if they cannot accept these few things: 1. Teabag 2. People cursing. 3. People with bad manners 4. People killing me 5. People not giving me tips and showing me tricks 6. People speaking different languages 7. Not being able to accept failure. 8. You are not the world's greatest player regardless of what you think 9. People need to move out of my way if I encounter them because I said so. 10. I deserve everything in the game and people should give me free stuff. These are just a few things but I have many more I could list. I understand your frustration but in the end you just can't tell people to not kill you in pvp and expect them to listen. Sorry for any errors I typed this with 2 thumbs on my phone.

Only a professional victim would perceive the story that way.

If a friend and yourself have patiently waited for people to leave the cave or were lucky enough to find it void of any competition, then you'll be able to manage 1.5-2.5 hour VR levels. Perhaps I am alone in this line of thought, but I was under the impression that MMOs had a certain degree of etiquette when it came to pulling mobs and sharing experience in public places.

If two more members of my faction show up, I try to reason with them by saying something like, "I'm going to be here for another hour or two with my buddy. Could you guys wait for us to finish? You could try another campaign, or I could whisper you when we're done here."

More often than not, people are quite sensible. They understand that it's nightmarish to invest the same amount of time into something for about half of the benefits (in this case, experience). However, there will always be those players remarking, "Oh, you think you own this cave?" They'll proceed to follow you around, AOEing each of your pulls. "How do you like your exp now?" They seem to feel secure as they assume you have no means to be a threat to them.

Personally, I value my time. If I have someone leeching off of me and giving me an earful after failing to meet reason, transforming what should be a 2 hour VR level into a 4 hour grind, I am going to take action to remove the nuisance if I have that capacity.

If you're salty about the 'travel to friend' feature, what's the difference to you between:
A. Someone killing you on an alternate character of an opposing faction on the same account
B. Someone killing you on an alternate character of an opposing faction on a different account (w/ current campaign set as Home campaign)
C. Someone calling a buddy with characters of the opposing faction to kill you

If you're unreasonable, griefing/leeching, and inflexible, I see no problem with another player taking action against you for his benefit.

If you're so serious about grinding xp, I don't get why you would waste 40 minutes holding them there to prove a point. Could've made more CP overall if you just went to another spot lol. I must admit, that is quite amusing though.

So my mate wanted to grind out some level before his misso came over. I asked him to make sure it was clear of AD before going on the buff server. It was clear so we spent a good 20 mins before 1 dude showed up. He didn't hit anything which was pretty weird for an VR14 in Crackwood.

Arcane requiem and his little AD made threaten to bash us if we didn't leave. After an exchange of lols he changed to his sorc to only end up dying and getting the standard tbag.

This sounds exactly in line with my experiences in Cracked Wood Cave. Arcane Requiem would constantly come into the cave and leech experience until you left. Had to start having him killed instead.
