Aiding the war effort without fighting

Not sure if this is the appropiate subforum, if not then Im sorry @ZOS_BrianWheeler .

Anyways, I was just wondering if we could see more dynamic system/features to tie together with the war effort. For example if I dont really want to FIGHT to help out in the war, maybe I want to craft weapons/armor. I could turn in armor/weapons/writs and it would improve the guards at the keeps for example. Or spawn raiding parties to help out in combat. Maybe, as a mage, be able to summon a huge boss that marches towards the enemy. What if I did quests for the townfolks in Cyrodiil, and they would give the troops new weapons or ambush players. Win their loyalty so to speak

Could we see more features that would allow me to help with the war, in the big picture, without actually having to fight per se?

there were mercenaries in the game that were sort of "minibosses" :D..but ppl were spaming them like crazy and they were removed from the game instead of fixed (as everything good in this game)... and other things u talk about, man it wld be cool stuff, but zos is having problem to fix simple performance issues (as lag), i dont want to see them sink more money in this kind of things before game is even barely playable (as thats what it is right now :D)....

Very interesting ideas. Ones I don't think anyone else has had.

Staying with the topic, I would like my own tent and table at South High Rock gate so that I can help direct the Covenant's biceps into battle on zone in Chillrend.

Also more often than not I would like to have been able to direct the NPC guards at the keeps to certain areas so that they could help defend a keep. Rather than having them walk around like fools on the other side while attackers assault the keep. Maybe that could tie into guild ownership of a keep? If your guild owns a keep, those guild members within the keep could direct those NPCs in an area around the keep for defensive purposes.

Not a bad suggestion honestly, I would like to see more guild features tied to owning a keep

I'd also like to see Cyrodiil quests about re-locating persons made homeless by the war, perhaps going in to some battleground and doing healing or rescue, or even guarding supply trains.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

It would be great if there were more ways to earn AP in Cyrodiil than just zerging, but don't dare suggest it or they'll call you a "carebear".

would be cool to see people gain points for their alliance in their home campaign if they crafted gear that another player used in that camp, but i'm sure that would be exploited somehow

A "fog of war" feature would be nice. That way scouting missions would actually mean something. There is no reason that one side should know what is going on at a keep or resource that they don't control. Of course, the add on that let you know when a keep or resource is attacked would have to be turned off for this to be useful.

As a recent player moving to PvP, I can see why a lot of PvE elements were removed. If someone like me, who only has 2 hours to play, could gain ANY sort of headway to earning AP, the damage most hardcore players can do would be severe. Unfortunately, for this reason, we can't have nice things. This might seem challenging enough to new PvP players, it's easy mode for the hardened PvP player. And instead of allowing those who need the crutch a way to earn, it would just be abused by those people who can solo resources. That's why the mercs and forward camps were removed. Why the former emp passives are being removed.

It would be nice if sieging earned a decent amount of AP. Or prepping resources/keeps for take over had something to do with AP. I like the idea of a battle mission board for our crafting writs. Instead of turning it into your appropriate leveled area, turn them into Cyrodiil for AP instead of gold. It's not a lot, but it's something. And you'll get synergy from that minor change, because you'll start to see more people in Cyrodiil. And if 10% of those people decide to stay in Cyrodiil, maybe we'd see more smaller skirmishes instead of the zergs.

What if the higher rank you were the lower the reward for those more PvE activities got? Where the rewards for PvP would stay the same, so eventually you'd only get decent rewards from that. So in theory you're getting weaned away towards more PvP.

I think the point here is that folks want to participate in Cyrodiil with non-combat options. Forcing PvP is not going to solve this problem.

Why not craft gear for members of your alliance, like players not npcs. You could also donate food and pots for your guild.

At present there doesn't seem to be a way to get XP for that.

Want to earn a lot of AP?

Goto a keep that has a fight going on.
Wait for your zerg to win.
Tell them to go get the mine.
Collect 30,000 AP d tick for doing nothing but staying inside the keep.

It would be cool if you could have a buff or ability that let you become a quest npc that let you hand out kill quests to other players. You could stand in one place where people could find you and they could talk to you to tell you about the players they killed and you could give them rewards, or if they haven't killed anyone yet you could task them to kill 20 of something. You'd have to stay put so people could find you again after they completed their task. It would be nice too if they gave you an ability for some generic chat as well to congratulate them on a job well done so you wouldn't have to type out some generic gratuity.

That is not participatory enough for me. It's like offering the dev's XP for designing the game. Weird. to me.
