As of this morning my client isn't updating when I launch the launcher and I am now getting this message [eng] You've attempted to use an invalid or outdated client. Please exit and update your client using the patcher. My launcher doesn't have a repair option, and I can't figure out how to manually update my client.

Try turning Auto Update option off in the Game Options > Settings. bugeyesSoul ShrivenWell at this point I can't play the game unless I re-install the whole client is what it is looking like. Does anyone at Zenimax look at these issues? Is there a fix to this or is anyone else having this problem?1

bugeyesSoul ShrivenWell I fixed this myself by going into the control panel and uninstalling the 2 Elder Scrolls folders in their. My client is installed on a data drive, so this was not affected and stayed intact. I then reinstalled elder scrolls from a downloaded beta client I had into the folder my client was at. This updated the launcher, which then gave me a manifest error 209 code, which then I repaired the client and from there it actually worked and I am now in game. It probably sounds convoluted, but it doesn't sound like anyone else was having this problem.0

I'm having the same problem. The technical support for this game is and has been horrible. It is obvious they don't care about the users. I've had issues I've had to work around since beta - things that are known and other folks had posted about in the forums that I've opened tickets on and they don't do anything about. Gold selling is rampant, Bugs are constant, always having to reboot or relog to complete quests. People loosing items, game crashing, etc. etc.0

Rollo1✭I had the same error but I was able to resolve it by forcing the launcher to Check for updates (click on Game Options drop down menu which is right about where the news appears).3

Ah, that's were the game options sit. Its so small and inconspicuous I didn't see it. That probably would of been an easier fix than what I did. Thanks Rollo.0 -
I am also getting this annoying message.. I just installed a patch yesterday so i have no idea how my client isn't patched up and ready to go. Elder scrolls online wants me to sub when im constantly dealing with BS like this? Bugged quests getting stuck on loading screens and not being able to log in is getting old.0

On top of the News is and option called *game options*
Click it: Auto update : Never.
Close and open your Launcher: Click on game options and cick Update.
I got the same sit :[ENG] invalid client
You've attempted to use an invalid or out dated client .

I turned off auto update, reloaded and turned it on again and now I'm patching correctly. I hope this helps anyone else.0

ZOS_AmeliaR✭✭✭✭✭@chriscbowmanb14_ESO - Did you download the client directly from your account page? If so, that download should've included the launcher itself. Can you check the folder in which you have the game saved to see if the launcher is hiding in there (the default location should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\ for Windows and /Applications/ZeniMax Online/ for Mac OS)?2

I've got one better. The screen with game options is completely bypassed and goes to a login screen with the newsfeed below it with no way to change the settings.0
