Wrong, P2W is pay money to get stronger. Becoming stronger faster is not P2W.

    This.

    This !

    +1

All Zenimax is doing is giving some people a chance to progress faster. How can people see a P2W strategy in this is just clearly ridiculous . Seriously, if you do not like something, just do not buy it. I've always welcomed such "conveniences" in games. Good job Zenimax, give us more of these perks ;)

Oh, i forgot to add... WHAT A TROLL!

i think it was here posted at least once, but one more time for the pay 2 win cry babys :)

If you want a full P2W experience, play SWTOR, than you can say you know whats P2W is. Zenimax have to get money in at some point, cause subs are no 100 % income source now. This exp boosts can be obtained ingame without money or for money, either way you dont need them and have 0 disadvantage without them, If you still think you have disadvantages, than this game is dead for you, cause even more stuff like that will come, and its perfectly fine.

    PS: i got first and first VT14 now i got a big ... :D buy time andvantages= no P2W^^

THANK YOU! I can't see why people don't understand this. I see people making so many "P2W" posts and the closest thing to P2W in this game is Imperial, and perhaps not even then.

I disagree. Paying money to advance faster is also P2W, like in the case with riding lessons. And evidently lots of people see it the same way.

Well I know you seem to want to change the definition to suit your argument but facts are facts. Also there is going to be a pretty good chance of these since you can get them not just from writs but also from your hirelings AND everytime you skin a fish also get a chance. So I dont understand why you think its going to be so rare. The pots on the store are not even as good as the pots you can craft. Since you can craft 4 at a time and add up to 30 minutes I think to the duration from base.

There is no "fact" here as there is no clear definition of P2W, which is why this discussion pops up all the time. But experience has taught me that it's not fine if something is "also attainable via in-game-means". That doesn't mean anything when it takes you an inhuman amount of time to acquire something in the game that can be simply bought with money - such is the case with maxing all riding lessons on a character. What this "inhuman amount of time" constitutes is always subject for debate, so I just draw the line earlier.

I have no problem with Psijiic Ambrosia btw because as you said, they are clearly superior to the ones from the cash shop.

There is a clear definition of P2W: Pay to Win.

Anything that allows $$$ to grant you an advantage over other players is P2W, because it means two previously equal players are no longer equal, due to $$$.

And to the people who still don't understand basic things: this is not a "catch up potion", people grinding goblins 24/7 are not prevented from using this potion as well, which will just make the CP gap between players grow 50% faster. You are not "catching up", you are simply paying more $$$ to remain even relevant.

Pay to skip is not pay to win. All MMOs have xp pots even the ones that have a monthly mandatory fee.

@jamesharv2005ub17_ESO Again, DC Universe Online (f2p) doesn't have xp boosters that help you gain power well after max level.

This is NOT Pay 2 Win! People need to stop throwing that term around for anything and everything!

This is an in-game item! How is that P2W? Sure the cash shop will have an exp pot as well but P2W is buying something with real money that is NOT obtainable in-game. Since this is a player crafted item it is NOT P2W!

This game does not have a monthly sub anymore so they need to make money, if someone wants to spend real money on an exp boost then let him. You can still get the exp boost by creating it or buying it from a player with in-game currency too so who cares? Everyone wants everything for nothing these days. I HATE F2P/B2P games and prefer a subscription but as of right now ZOS hasn't crossed the line that will push me away.

I have spent some money on some cash shop mounts/pets since their is no subscription I spend about the equivalent on crowns as I would on a sub so that I can support the game. They need to make money somehow to keep the game going. A convenience item or 2 that are also available in-game does not make it P2W. If the exp boost was a crown shop only item then I can see the P2W argument but NOT as it currently stands!

Thing is with CP's....new players screwed. In pvp say I have 3k in CP's, I am hitting for 15-25% harder( mouse attacks, spells, skills), penetrating, crit damage more plus taking that much less from their damage.....
Plus I havent confirmed the totals but for every point I confirm in each of the trees is like 25 more health/magicka/stamina.
Not sure about that, maybe it caps out at some point but that would be a a huge gap...

Anyone know about the +hp/mag/stam per point spent in the trees?

remember what I said before, about diminishing returns around 30 points? You only NEED 1080 to truly max out, everything after that is fluff and you don't even need the 1080 to do well.

At the end all players are the same. CS should be reworked completely anyway.

P2W is about being forced to pay extra $$$ in order to win.

Are you able to grind 24/7 with the +50% XP buff up (i.e. are you able to afford purchasing them from store?), or will you be forced into Cash Shop and spending $$$?

No you wont because you can simply buy it in game. You dont need to buy it with real money. Hence why its not pay to win. You dont even have to buy it in game. Craft one yourself.

You have to get the components to craft them at this point, you do not buy them in the store, so p2w does not yet apply, /sigh

Oh man, ofcourse it is P2W. The DROPRATE of those materials is 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%

so you are baically forced to buy those things from crownstore if you ever want too see 1
Well that's complete BS. That drop rate is higher than the VR12 Warlock Rings!

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.
I am neither warm, nor fuzzy...
Probably has checkbox on Customer Service profile that say High Aggro, 99% immunity to BS

I find this discution absolutley pointless. Anyway if it is p2w or not i know for sure that right now, with my 30 cp im so far behind that i wont catch up in any resonable time with this potion or without. The whole champion system makes me want to uninstall the game. Only 1 element of the game i find entertaining - pvp. I already see the difference 200 cp make. I dont want to see how much 400 will make.

Isn't spending 100 points on one passive generally 25% bonus to that? I have about 63 points spend on one single skill for like +18% poison damage boost, if cap is 100 points and makes the damage from poisons to be 25%, I'll take that and be happy.

I don't think P2W means what you think it does. You do realize that having to collect a recipe through fragments and then farm up the mats or buy them IN-GAME is the very definition of solid MMO design right?

lol you can buy the pots for real money and farm the time you need to craft them which is wasted time
and there is a extra resource where they can regulate the drop rate.......
