Crafting writ rewards

Not sure about anyone else but I find it incredibly frustrating when you turn in an Equipment crafting writ and all you get is a single trait stone. The consumable writs are almost guaranteed to give at least 2 items so why isn't the equipment writs paying off nearly as much considering they take far more material to make? I'm sure this has been brought up at some point before but it just seems like a waste of effort to do equipment writs when all you could end up getting out of it is a rather pointless Ruby.

It is frustrating, but who knows what the next day might bring?

Yesterday, for example, I got a gold mat from all three of the equipment writs. The day before three Kutas from one enchantment writ (one in the box, two from a survey). The day before that...nothing of any note from any writ.

Crafting Writ rewards are nothing more than a slap in the face to VR14's that are Level 50 in said Profession. Sure you get an occasional Legendary Temper or Kuta from the Coffer (much more on the less often side) and if you prayed to the RNGesus that day you just might get a Nirncrux (good luck, I haven't heard of anyone who's gotten one from a map yet in 1.6). The material costs are ridiculous. ZoS needs to drop it to Crafting 3 items at most. The gold reward is meh but w/e, the 20K IP is laughable since many of us are capped already, and the junk the coffer drops is even more meh, unless you get a Legendary ofc. Also 499 XP, what (insert colorful adjective here) person at ZoS thought that would be fine?

Consumable Writs however are great and well worth doing daily.

The amount of stuff needed for woodworking/blacksmithing/clothier writs are nuts.
Provisioner and alchemist are fine, enchanter, borderline because it's so luck based what runes you get when harvesting, but not all that bad.

Either rewards should go up, or the requirements go down, don't really care which.

Yeah, I've stopped all equipment Crafting Writs. Too costly. Not worth it.

I took a Crafting Writ from the board the other day, then remembered I would need a stack of mats just to make the stuff. I promptly abandoned the quest.

Consumable Crafting is fine, Equipment crafting is not.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Your mileage will vary. For the record @DeLindsay, I have gotten several nirncrux from surveys since 1.6. As a rule, I agree that equipment writs give poor rewards. I don't know if it is just RNG, but I seem to be getting more surveys from all writs than I did before 1.6. So, much better odds of getting nirncrux. As to mats cost of writs, I'm swimming in void ores and blooms from farming nirncrux, so I only make an effort to get shadowhide and wood. In any case, I'll go at least to 250 for the achievement before stopping them.

The rewards are garbage but I have received 3 nirncrux from mining and clother maps. They way higher rate seeing as I have never received any before.

I have done all 3 Crafting Writs daily since 1.6 hit Live and have received only 4 Surveys, all in Lower Craglorn. ZoS needs to at least change it so that VR14's with LvL 50 in said Crafting Profession never get anything but Upper Craglorn Surveys so we at least get some chance at a Nirncrux to make these stupid Writs worth it. I'm also only getting 1 Legendary from the Coffers about every other day.

Craglorn survey have a chance of 1.25% per node for nirncrux even in lower craglorn.
For surveys th upper crag-rule doesn't count.

Ah so basically I'll have to do 400-600 Crafting Writs (with my luck at getting Surveys) so that I get roughly 100 Surveys to get 1 Nirncrux, ZoS logic.

Where do you get that from ??? I got several nirncruxes from survey reports in 1.5 and 1.6 butthey were ALL in upper craglorn, NEVER in lower Craglorn, and I believe your statement is mistaken.

1.25 chance makes 80 nodes or 10 surveys on average. Loot fairy is a bi*ch so no guarantee...
The values I occasionaly post and where you can find nirncrux are from a thread where someone else gathered all data. Mainly from answers from ZOS. That surveys in craglorn have a chance for nirncrux also in lower craglorn was from a statement Gina postet. Also I did find nirncrux in lower surveys, allthough I got more from farming nodes in upper craglorn.

Yep, I agree, for the most part Equipment writs are a total waste of time and materials. If I do get a survey map then 80% of the time it's in lower Craglorn where there is no chance of getting Nirn stones. The last Blacksmith writ I turned in I happened to get a Quartz trait stone in return. ZOS should have in place some kind of mechanic where that should never happen. If they want us to do the writs then they need to lower the costs and increase the rewards.

Yeah, some of these are hit and miss for sure. I've actually got a reason to do writs now. Surveys are popping up more as I usually get 1 out of 6 writs which is A LOT better than it was before. I've also been getting gold tempers from them A LOT more frequently than prior to 1.6. I find myself making time daily for the writs now where I couldn't be bothered with them before.

I agree, its very hit and miss. I hope they do something to make it more exciting soon!
