PS4 Error CE-34878-0

I get the CE-34878-0 error every time I start playing. It doesn't happen on any other game. I can play through the tutorial area with no issues, but as soon as I get to the first real area I get kicked with this error. I even initialized my PS4 and re-downloaded the game twice, but still this error happens as soon as I log in. Any ideas on how to resolve this so I can actually play the game?

I've only had it once in ESO and that was just now. I get it quite often in the EU version of Wander and very, very rarely in other games. I always submit a report with video attached as per the Sony Error Reporting system and hopefully it'll get passed to the right people.

I get it constantly, and the ps4 techs are no help whatsoever. Ive deleted game, initialized my ps4 u name it. Love the game just sucks i cant play without it crashing. Wonder why not alot of people dont have this problem. 34878-0 is evil.

Yeah. I've downloaded the game 3 times at this point. I'm giving up on PS4 for right now and downloading on XB1. I've been playing on PC since beta, but my computer decided to give out on me so it's being repaired and sold and my new one won't be here for a few weeks. I just want to play the game for a bit, that doesn't feel like much to ask.

Did it every night for the past week. I'm at the point of figuring out how to get a refund on a digital download.

I installed a 1TB HDD to my PS4 a while back and I'm wondering if this error code is related, having said that I've had the error code both before and after the new HDD installation in different games. Has anyone else here upgraded their HDD on their PS4 or are you all still using the original HDD that shipped with your PS4?

I've had this code pop up at least 10 times a day since I downloaded the game on the release day. Has anyone figured out a way to fix it? I've done everything that was recommended. I think I should just get a refund and buy a different game instead.

I believe this is the error code I get after my crashes as well. The majority of times I crash like this, I am navigating UI, in a crowded city or town, it rarely happens when I am out in the wilderness -- perhaps once, and usually I have a web page open to http://teso.mmorpg-life.com/skyshards/ or some similar site while I am playing, so I can double tap the PS button and get skyshard info at a moment's notice. The crashes happen more often while I have that site open or any app suspended while I am playing TESOU.

I don't know if this info can help narrow things down or if this is a PSN issue, but I have only recently started getting these crashes since the last PSN maintenance. Also of note, I get the "Unexpected symbol next to..." LUA error on log in, and since both the error in-game, and the crashing coincide, I suspect they are related.

Been getting this too. I shut off all voice chat by going into social and leaving all channels. I mean no voice chat what so ever and the blue screen errors seemed to stop. It my be coincidence or not don't know yet but it looks like voice chat is causing crashes for some reason.

Edit - I unjoined all voice chat channels and play solo for hours now without a single blue screen crash. Try playing w/o voice chat and see if that works for you too. I know it sucks but at least the game is playable now.
I don't know if voice chat server is lagging out and crashing the game or if it's a PSN issue.

ps - I've done the whole delete save file thing and that only stops the UI error when logging in.

I get this crash every now and again at random ever since friday night when I started getting a UI error pop-up upon my first login after booting up the game. Not sure if they are related or not but I suspect they are. The real question is what is Zenimax going to do about this error and when will it be done?

Mine crashes with this error now and again, latest was running around on my mount in Auridon yesterday. I promptly restarted the game and re logged in and continued where I left off afterwords.

The frequency of this error is much less then it was for BF4 in the beginning, I suspect it's something to do with the PSN as the only recommended actions are to update both the application and console software.....and obviously everything is updated otherwise we wouldn't get on in the first place.

It is annoying though when it happens.

CE-34878-0 is a game crash. Instead of your PS4 just booting you to the dashboard (as is the case on the xbox) it'll give you this error code. It's not your PS4's and it's not PSN at fault. It's simply something in the coding of the game causing the system to crash.

I too have got this error a few times with ESO since their last 15 GIG!!! update.

My game has been crashing with this code lately also. VERY ANNOYING. PLEASE GET THIS FIXED. No other games on my ps4 have done this except for ESO.

This didn't start happening to me until that huge 15GB update, before that I never had any problems with any games. Now I get this error after playing for about 2 -3 hours, I do not believe this is a Sony issue it has to have something to do with that last big update because it doesn't do this with any other game.

I keep crashing this is not cool. This must be ZOS.

Sony suggestions are,

"Update the applications. To do so, go to the home screen, select application, press the OPTIONS button and then select [check for update]."

ESO is already updated. This ONLY happens with ESO.

, in my case this just happen with this game i play fifa, cod advanced warfare, destiny, even a new game that i'm playing recently called Rocket League and it's a brand new game and this don't happen....
the first weeks of ESO i just take it cool i said my self, its a new game a new MMO. But after a month this isn't ok... i restart my ps4 like sony told me and download everything again but im not gonna do it again just for this game? 50 gb from ESO and 60 gb from cod advanced warfare and more that i have to download again. NO JUST NO!!! fix your god dammit game >.<

Have you had contact to the Sony Support? This error is very common on PS4 systems. It can be a heating problem (check sour PS4 for high temperature if you have the error) or a broken part (like HDMI port or something). Some people are reporting, they had a broken console with this error code.

You have everything done, what is reccomended for this error (update, reinitialized). The error code is from the PS4, so try it with the PS4 Support. Tell them you have already done the stuff they are recommending.

Been a couple of weeks but shutting off all voice chat still works for me as far as clearing up blue screen crashes.

Unjoin all channels, run around and solo quest/level with no crashing.

Join chat channel, run around, zone a few times, voice chat gets all buggery (changing voice channels on it's own) and next thing I know crash to BSoD.

It is what it is. I send in reports via blue screen whenever it happens but playing with voice chat off stopped crashing in quest zones.

Cyrodiil is another matter. Even with all chat off it'll crash once every 1.5 hours or so. If I was on pc I would swear the game had a mem leak but don't know if it works like that on Ps4. Cyrodiil is sooo much more demanding on the system with all the players/aoe's/siege weapons and whatnot.

I believe both Sony and ZoS are responsible for this crash error. Sony has had a long time to fix this but has not and it happens with many games not just this one. The fact that this error can relate to corrupt data though means any glitches in this game makes ZoS responsible, although you can't honestly expect the game to be glitch-free that's just impossible sadly and imperfect UI is sort of an Elder Scrolls tradition lol but on a serious note you can't just blame ZoS as I am sure they are working to fix as much as they can as it comes up. Honestly as far as Elder Scrolls games go this 1 is doing quite good for only being out a bit over a month. The crash is annoying believe me but until Sony shapes up and does something to at least reduce the frequency then all we can do is either deal with it or put our system through the ringer trying to fix it.

Result? we have a very annoying error, without any intention of solution

The problem is cause of both, because only is in Elder Scroll game, and only in Ps4....so start to work together and fix it.....

I switch off the console because when this error appears for third time in one hour....i started to get mad....

Yes I know this behaviour from Bungie....

I never had this error. Sorry I can't help you in this case. I had a few crashes in the last days, but always when the Anchors appears. I've sent a automatic report to Sony, that's all I can do. I have no idea, what they do with that reports...

This response is unexpectable. EVERY other game works Except EOS. This is NOT a PlayStation issue. To even suggest this is insulting. Now, what are you doing to address the issue?
