I just don't understand how it can be fun with the lag and the NPC Sponges. I have yet to enjoy the PvP aspect of the game.

The npcs are kind of hard to deal with while you are non-vet as they have stats of vet 12 mobs. Usually you need a group to take them down or use siege weapons. Really the only npcs that are significant are the ones on the flags at keeps and resources, which must be killed in order to cap the flag, pretty much all the other npcs can be ignored.First-in-Line - Swings-for-Lethal

✭The NPCs guarding keeps/resources are not really intended to be solo things. You can, with some skill, and as you level up, you can be able to do a lot of it on your own, depending on your build. But as a VR13 Nightblade, I can only deal with 1 or 2 guards before I'm overwhelmed. PvP is all about grouping. Typically, you want about 12 people to have fun.2 -

Until then you are going to have to be in a group, that includes healers to kill NPCS.
If you dont have a good setup then even at v14 you will need to bring 1-2 friends to capture a resource, and many friends to capture a keep.
This is not bad design, objectives need static defense.0 -
nothing2591✭✭✭pvp is great sometimes, i just wish the devs could see this great smallscale pvp instead of the zerg wars. It worked before 1.6 where i could streak twice through the raid and get my ulti rdy but now its just boring, smallscale pvp is great and once all the zerglings get bored and quits that is what we will have !

That is kinda harsh to a new player. The original (PC) community is kind of a tough bunch, but we've had to be. And folks who have paid for the game since last April probably don't have much sympathy for rehashing stuff we've already been through on the PC side, especially when Zeni devotes all their interest and attention away from long-known PC issues in favor of console.

In AVA, keeps aren't meant to be easy to take. This is why the guards are tanky and hard to kill. It's designed so that keeps require a decent group of players to capture the keep.
You are also battle levelled as you have not passed level 50 to become a veteran rank. Everyone under level 50 has their stats boosted to the same level. You're weapon and spell damage will not be as high as a veteran ranked player so your damage output won't be as high. You will have approx. 30,000 health though which should help your survivability. If you are having trouble surviving you need to do one of the following to mitigate damage: Block, dodge roll, use damage shields.

Also how bad is the lag you're experiencing? ✭✭✭✭✭Yeah, a little shield next to the level of the player/NPC means it is a veteran rank, and VR1=level 50. ✭There are Levels and there are Veteran Levels. Let me explain
You level a character from level 1-50.
Level 50 is Veteran Rank 1. When you are level 49, and you level up, you are Veteran Rank 1.
THEN, you level from Veteran Rank 1 to Veteran Rank 14. Each Veteran Rank takes 1 million XP.
Those mobs in cyrodiil are not LEVEL 11 or 12 or 14. They are VETERAN RANK 11 or 12 or 14. So they are definitely going to give you a hard time.
Being someone who has played this game's pvp for a while, I recommend you level up a bit, maybe to 35-40 so you can unlock more skills and get better armor.Fire Cloak - VR12 DK - Nord - EP

NotSo✭✭✭✭You guys are forgetting the battle leveling, OP should be equivalent to VR10 (iirc) when he joins Cyrodiil.
Don't try taking on guards yourself, you are going to need defensive buffs and self heals before they are worth attacking solo.

✭✭L2P is accurate here. You are playing the game for only some days, are level 14 which means you have like 1% of your skills unlocked and no idea what you are doing. Probably you are light attacking the guards while you are eclipsed (HINT: thats not good). Play the game, level up your skills, read guides on what to do... Basically: LEARN TO PLAY.

This is the problem with modern day consumerism. No, no you don't and the fact you think that way is a sad reflection of our 'wrap them up in cotton wool' 'compensation nation' self entitled society.
If I buy a sausage roll, the fact I bought it doesn't give me the right to complain it doesn't taste like beef. No one has a 'right' to complain. If something is genuinely off or faulty then people have a right to initially discuss this with the pole they bought the product from, if this fails and the product continues to fail despite reassurances given that it will be put right or a suitable alternative is offered. Then you have the 'right' to complain
The customer is NOT always right. That is the most ridiculous myth I've ever heard. I've worked in complaints for 8 years and worked my way to a senior level and trust me, more often than not then consumer is dumb, ignorant, both or wrong.2 -
Man pvp is *** awesome once you get to a good level with some good skills unlocked and if you have a group of at least 20 or so its espically fun taking a keep with 100 allies with you and 10 siege weapons set up also to whoever said DC wasnt popular I have to beg to differ on xbox and in my campaign we have plenty of people not very organized people.... but ahh0
