I agree with one thing, there needs to be a separate forum where client-specific issues .. like how do I 'x' on a PS4 .. but most of the topics you're complaining about are a result of NEW PLAYERS coming into the game and nothing to do with the hardware they're playing on.

As such putting console players into their own ghetto is NOT thew way to proceed: this simply smacks of the earlier 'Plus players should have their exclusive use of some forums to keep out the F2P rabble' bigotry.

Again, it is not the fact they are asking.. it is the fact that most of the posts that are asking are not specifying what platform they are using or the servers etc, and for the ease of others there should be a separate General Discussion area for each platform so that PS4 players looking to help other PS4 (or Xbox or PC etc) related issues or requests can more easily do that.

As it is right now, there are people willing to help but as another person mentioned above, putting everyone together in the same forum category is making helping other people with platform specific requests, especially when they don't specify what platform, very confusing and an absolute waste of time when they learn they just answered someone's question, but for the wrong platform.

It has nothing to do with wanting to separate people due to having an elitist stick up the highney.

It will also keep the forum more organized and make the job for the Mods much easier so they are not having to move a bunch of threads to their proper place all the time.

The fairest thing, in my opinion, to do is to have four general chat forums with one for each platform and a shared one. Platform specific questions should be directed to the specific forum.

I fully want to help console newbies with general game questions.

Unfortunately, the console versions only have voice chat for areas and groups, and lack any way to ask a question of the entire zone. That's probably why there are a bunch of minor questions here instead of being asked in-game.

There are platform-specific forums for the Support and Guild Recruitment sections, but we don't currently have plans to add platform-specific forums for general discussion. Things are expectedly hectic during launch, but we're already seeing discussion moving more towards game-related topics, and support issues are more consistently being posted in the Support forums; we're actively moving and consolidating threads to support this.

We don't want to add platform-specific forums for general discussion, as this enforces a divide in the community, can result in redundancy of platform-neutral topics, and has the potential of siphoning off the support forums. We also don't want to add forums for launch activity and find that General Discussion is no longer inundated with these topics post-launch. During PC/Mac launch there were many platform threads in GD, but now they're relatively uncommon. We may consider structure changes past the launch spike, but it isn't something we are currently looking to do.
