Sure, the screaming babies or the mom's yelling at their kids to quite playing the game are annoying. But to the guy I heard the other day going on about his brother being found with his gal ... that was some priceless chat right there. And then the other guy just standing in a corner singing, also great.

Since Xbox defaults to the webcam mic, or kinect, whatever(I don't own an Xbone) it probably picks up a lot more crying babies and ambient noise.
So there's no push-to-talk feature? What about in console settings @NewBlacksmurf @Rook_Master?

Sounds like a shortcoming of the end user not knowing to invest in a piece of hardware with a mute button.... /story
I am not being sarcastic I would not get a POS headset that doesnt have a mute button built into the plug or line. Even on my Bose QC15 that I connect to my controller it has a mute button in-line as well as the mute botton at the stereo plug on the controller.
As far as kinect there is no option but I would not use kinect for chat outside of party group with friends.
