They're different skill lines. The restoration staff skill line is primarily about healing skills, but there's also some primarily utility skills in the line. One of the main reasons to use the skill line aside from wanting access to healing/utility skills is the fact that there are some passives in the line that make heavy attacks with the resto staff very attractive. Heavy attacks with a staff restore magicka anyway, but with the right passives a heavy attack with a resto staff restores significantly more magicka, and also heals a nearby ally (and anything that affects "an ally" considers you to be your own ally, so it can heal you).:whats the difference between destruction staff and a restoration one?
Um, I really have no idea how the quick wheel works on console, but on PC the quick wheel is just used to select one potion (or something else that can be slotted), and then you tap the button to use the one that's selected. If you've got 5 or 6 different items on your quick wheel you can't just tap one button to use any one of them - only the one that's currently selected.:i found out how to add potions to the quick wheel but i can only get the up on d pad one to work? (xbox)
OK, there are a few things that could be going on here.:i seem to have low health i fight and usually dont get hit however if i manage to get hit it doesnt take much to kill me im trying to finish the ghosts of westry and the ghost thing in the cellar keeps killing me because its so fast and does alot of dmg when it hits
Yes, you can invite him to group with you. I don't know exactly how you do that on console though.also when my friend is online is there a way to invite him to a group or something so we can see each other easier and do the same quests or do we just need to follow each other around and talk with the same npcs?

In a word: yes.
In more than one word: if you're looking to be a magicka-based DPS (and from the sounds of it that's the direction you're going), an Altmer Dragonknight using a flame staff is totally viable. Some might argue it's one of the best combos for magicka DPS. When you hit level 15 and unlock weapon swapping, it might be worth picking up a restoration staff and putting that on your second bar so that you've got a little more utility and magicka recovery, but that's up to you.
The answer is "kind of, but not really". There aren't any spears (or other pole arms) as weapons that you can use, and there's no skill line for them. The only way that you can kind of use them is by being a Templar. Templars have a class skill line Aedric Spear which has a number of spells that are based on spears, and show a spear in the animation for them (radial sweep, puncturing strikes, piercing javelin, spear shards).Survivor_Chris wrote: »In a word: yes.

Hello! I really don't want to steal the thread but I have one single question and you seem nice! Can you use spears in the game? (XB1) I want to be like prince oberyn from game of thrones with a venomous spear

magic build sword & shield only stamina skill shield bash & magic build & fire skills, or are light armor passives create loss for magic build?

On low lev you have ineffisient resource management as you have no armor sets and armor bonuses so you should kill quick or have healing skills. For destro DK you should open gragon blood skill for healing asap. As you do not need stamina for attck learn to use block it will mitigate dmg you recive. If you use stone fist for knock down, try to replase it with fire clench (destro staff skill). Use fire breath on groups befor you attack then one by one.:i seem to have low health i fight and usually dont get hit however if i manage to get hit it doesnt take much to kill me im trying to finish the ghosts of westry and the ghost thing in the cellar keeps killing me because its so fast and does alot of dmg when it hits

Dunmer is somewhat better for fire dmg, and altmer has better mana passives. Both are good for DK.
I tried different combinations for my DK DPS. And now i use DW/destro for PvE (DW - no active skills, only passives to max dmg on single boss targets, destro for AoE - inferno+fire breath+eruption+elemental ring spam and deap breath for heal works great)
And for PvP i use destro/restro build.
Lots DoT stacking - entropy+inferno+fire breath+burning embers (and sometimes eruption from second bar), and DW swords really gives you good dmg buff compared to destro.dancing.in.the.webeb17_ESO wrote: »i'm wondering about DK, high elf or dummer?,

How is this working out for you? don't you lose a lot of dps not weaving LA on your back bar? Seems like a minimal change at best considering we spend so much time on the whip bar.
You won't get this with a DK in the current state of the game, sorry.
Regardless, High Elf is the absolutely a good choice for any magicka spec, especially for PvP.
