After watching King....or better yet Lord James secure another win for the Cavaliers...I went on Metacritic to see how my recent PS4 purchase has done.
Why are you so upset about what others think of a game you've chosen to buy and play?

Metacritic is for those who need to be told what to think.

Calm down....some people cant take a joke...like the Lord James...joke

    I rarely even watch sports...chill

And metacritic is generally spot on when it comes to games. Educated buyers read reviews before they purchase. I've seen several games get a bad rep...but metacritic proves that its actually a good game. Ive yet to see a game on metacritic with high scores that I did not enjoy. To each their own.

And what do you do? Just go out and buy everything in multiples of 2's and 3's to compare....then make your decisions after your purchases? That doesn't sound very wise.

The ONLY reason I can come up with for XBOX ONE having such a higher score is XBOX Live vs PSN....or...maybe its the controls??? Do you guys have any ideas why XBOX ONE is doing so much better in polling?

You best wait for more people to vote and use multiple sources for game critiques....cause fanboys and trolls usually are first to mouth off on those public sites.

A variance in the scores could be due to the network performance or issues that users are experiencing on a specific platform. If one has a lot more users then the other then these issues will be compounded. The funny part is on xbox the higher scoring platform in my first day I have experienced a plethora of issues:
    • Frequent lag which can cause you to jump around. This happens in the highly populated zones so will likely die down as people advance.
    • Infinite load screens like happen on PC.
    • Characters and group members appearing as black silhouettes with no textures loading other then weapon and shield.
    • Long loading screens in which a message pops up saying that they think the load could be longer then It should be.
    • My character loaded once sealed half way into the floor and I couldn't move or look around. Logged out and back in and infinite load.
    • Game has actually crashed a half dozen times dumping you back at the xbox home screen.
    • Buttons not responding properly to move to next chat dialogue or collect loot or interact with things like doors. This happens on occasion and may be some form of lag but in some cases requires you to open and close menus before it will work again.
    • Was kicked off server with a message saying something about sending too many messages and not to spam. At this point my microphone was in xbox party chat and I was standing on a mound waiting for skeletons to spawn not doing anything so I have no idea what messages it was referring to or how I could prevent them.
    • Friends never show on the friends list.
    • No achievements from the character transfer have completed on the system. So things like learning all rare style motifs or becoming a vampire / werewolf appear to require you to start from scratch (some people may have to delete a character they transferred to have room for a new one) or the achievements are currently bugged.
    • Login issues like time outs and errors as well as queue waiting. This is made worse when game crashes or errors out and you are forced to try again or sit in queue.

So that was pretty much my first day of eso on xbox. I had read that bugs were much less on console version then way back at the PC launch but in my experience playing during both there are just as many console launch issues as there were back when PC first launched. Sadly I had some friends on the fence about getting the game but due to all the bad press on forums and issues so far I think it's highly unlikely they will give eso a second look.

Achievements are not supposed to cross over. That is not a bug. I feel your pain.. though I have a new char for console play.
I managed to add a friend manually to my list, but the autopopulate takes hours or never right now.

I had all those bugs on Xbox. I actually get the spawn in floor one a lot.

The "too many messages" crash was on the PC too. it isn't you talking or typing.. it is messages coming from your client. I used to get it a lot on PC when I fell through the world. I fell reeeeaaaaly fast, and the updates of my position were spamming the server. Your client probably desynced and spammed the server... the updates lagged and all hit the server at once.

Those are good scores considering that people usually downgrade for launch day logon problems and not the game itself.

Metacritic is a joke. So a few of the rage kiddies trashed it. I have PS4 and it is running fine. I think they have done well on the console version in general. And I am a PC elitist and only go it because it was 20 bucks. And truthfully I am enjoying it.

I have seen users on meta give 0s and 10s to games that don't deserve the absolute worse or greatest. Wait for the professional aggregate before saying which is better if you are going off reviews.

Maybe the xbox one will score higher who knows. Also I doubt this game will get 90s on any platform, but I might be surprised.

Or just play the game and make up your own mind.

I personally don't have any experience with playing the Playstation 4, but based on my experience on the Xbox One, the controls are fantasitc, no complaints there what so ever. Additionally, for a MMO on launch day, I've not experienced any lag, stuttering, desync or glitches even after a solid six hours of playing post-launch.

I have a couple of friends who have been playing the title on the Playstation 4, they've reported some stuttering issues, log-in issues and hit detection issues, however, the same can be reported for some users on the Xbox One. Personally, I think Xbox offers a better live service, it's more stable and genuinely is more reliable. In terms of controls, I would imagine they're the same though.

Only compliant I have is the area voice chat is incredibly annoying and seems like a feature that will never be used. Haven't heard a single person who wasn't screaming through the mic at their brothers, or playing music, or as I found yesterday, two, what appeared to be nine year old's arguing at one another that their horse is better. I'm personally never going to use the voice chat purely because the majority of the time it's chat unrelated to the game, but it's even more so annoying when text chat hasn't been implemented.

Overall, genuinely can see why the scores are high, but I'd imagine after a few days those will drop off. I think most people are expecting Skyrim, which from my perspective, it genuinely feels exactly like it, but for someone who is perhaps more familiar with the series, I would imagine there's some differences that are off-putting.

I like how everyones opinion is just buy everything and try it all out and then make the decision for yourself if you like the game/version or not. No need for other opinions.

Unfortunately, here in the real world...we are not all billionaires. So we do our best to research reviews about products before we make purchases. If we didn't read reviews...we'd have to purchase multiple versions of everything to know which one is better...
