Before I started doing Crafting Writs, I had Style Gems coming out of my ears. I destroyed 100 stacks like nobodies business because I could not give them away. Now, I am running out of them doing crafting writs.

If only they gave a good return for the investment.

With the Exception of Dwemer Frames, which, are hard enough to farm that I've NEVER seen anyone wearing Dwemer, Style materials are just bank clutter, most people keep a stack of 100 in their bank that just builds up from hirelings/deconstructing, and then deletes any others they get. They're useless to sell because you get so many they're in almost every container and hireling and from deconstructing, and if you really ran out you can buy them cheap from NPC's, so everyone just deletes any that are over that stack of 100. It gets to be a hassle with inventory management because they just pile up and are essentially junk.

IMO finding/buying the motif is enough, we already have mats for traits so you have your base mat, your trait mat, and your 4 levels of refining mats, that's enough for crafting. Adding the style mat in there too is just excessive and a pain for managing inventory/bank.

If you won't remove them explain WHY you feel they're an important part of the crafting system, because I think your playerbase will disagree.

I have a character (my main pvp guy) that wears an entire set of dwemer armor and weapons. I've seen plenty of others, especially the light armor wearers around.

Anyway, onto the actual point - personally I don't think they should get rid of them, but they could do things to make them more useful like allowing crafter to convert armor styles to other styles (kind of like how you can change armor to imperial if you bought the imperial edition) - except 1. they could add another passive skill under crafting and require it to be very high skill level as a reward to crafter characters and 2. require it to use like 10 racial style mats to convert a piece (+ maybe a matt equal to it's upgrade level). Or 5 for crafted armor and 10 for drop armor, or something similar.

I mean, in the end, everything we use to craft stuff isn't really worth all that much individually, the style matts are just worth the least of all. It's supposed to take up room and with all the improvements to inventory lately, banking isn't an issue and really wasn't before except for hoarders that hold onto too much stuff.

Reason so few were Dwemer is because the freaking motif is Rare and its in a zillion chapters instead of just one book. Not even going to try for that style until it drops as a whole book or they lower the crown store cost to something more sane.

It Does drop as a whole book, it's just very rare.

They could delete the NPC seeded Style Materials... but leave them dropable/lootable from mobs

Style mats should be removed from refining and deconstruction. If I need some them I will just buy from NPC merchants. Really tired to clean inventories on all my characters from this trash.

Remove them from merchants and lower a bit from dez (don't give style stone for white items).

Then we'll have a new market.

You can't remove them from merchants. While racial stones quickly become a nuisance, a starting crafter has limited access to them, and can only use their own racial stone until some other motifs are acquired. New players may not realize where to find these in the world right away, so removing them from merchants creates an impediment to early crafting.

The first place I would nerf racial stones is from hirelings. They are the last dang thing I want in the mail.
