Wanna avoid lag? Avoid the monkeyspam blob guilds. You know who they are. You feel their presence when they enter your keep.
Unfortunately for OP, she is in one of those guilds.......... GG

I am sure they have division for each platform like any other gaming company, but they are trying to buy time by stating they are waiting till after console release. If they had the solution they would fix it. It is as simple as that. So lets hope it is during the next patch. If not, well, that's the fact of the matter. Complaining doesn't help. I am all for this getting fixed ASAP, don't get me wrong. But count the threads on this topic, yikes.

Thanks for the insight, but still not very helpful. But way to go reading the thread!
Yes, I am in a guild that runs a large group. I am in a guild that runs a medium size group. I belong to a trade guild and two guilds that run small man PvP. I was also an officer of Legend Dueling Guild, an avid dueler, solo player and PvEer. I like all aspects of the game. And I absolutely love that ZOS is offering us a way to play the game like we want! I care about the game and would like to see some progress and attention to the lag issue. The best way to do that is to keep talking about it.
Anyways, lets try to get back on topic! Please share what was happening when you experienced lag in the game. The point of this is so that ZOS has a way to compare what is going on.
As the person I quoted failed to do, lets not bash other people, guilds, factions and/or play styles. We are trying to be constructive, not rant and qq!

while it was a rant post, he is right.
A large clump of players of 1 faction spamming certain skills regularly leads to game-halting lag. most notorious in my experience on eu servers is the ep blob (blob is appropriate description) and their Meteors.
It's interesting that the game grinds to a halt far more often when fighting ep than it does when fighting ad.
AD tend not to spam meteor so much.
it's quite interesting too that ep and ad achieve similar gains vs dc but ad do it with 1/3 the numbers
I'd be very interested to see the demographics of the different factions.

Think its just a matter of where you are - everyone has guilds zerging with huge numbers. AD blobs as much as EP, and DC surely does it somewhere too, probably only capable on chill at this point - not much pop left to do it elsewhere.

Good point. What kind of proximity is there to large group fights before you get lag? For me it at least say the distance from the north side of Ash to Ash gate. When I get in that range then I start to lag

Two nights ago, about 12 of us were running on chillrend, intentionally staying away from the big fights...and the lag was just unbearable. All 12 of us logged out.
Before trying to move away from the lag, I saw a group of 20+ reds on top of the Alessia bridge tower non-stop spamming AoEs. They weren't fighting anyone, nobody was even near them, but I was stealthed, watching them spam all their AoE abilities over and over. Waited for at least a minute maybe longer...was on a phone call just watching.
Can't you just put something in game where if you spam an ability 8 times and it hits nobody, that player is perma stunned for 1 min?
Geez, get tough Zos, do SOMETHING.

katekatienancy wrote: »That isn't good enough LameoveR. ZOS isn't talking to us. All we get is we are working on it. Well they have been working on it for 6 months and that isn't good enough for me anymore. So to avoid the hate forums I am hoping this will bring constant attention or at the very least pin point some of the trouble. Probably won't but hey a person can dream
They've admitted it's a core coding problem and can't be fixed without a major overhaul.
So to band-aid fix the problem they've implemented tactics that were supposed to bust up zergs. Like increased siege damage and proximity detonation.
Unfortunately, these "fixes" only empowered zergs. You now have proxy bombing zergs...
What they need to do is focus up on the core reasons players group up in large zergs:
- Faster AP. You get AP at a faster rate while in a large zerg becuase of getting credit for all group kills
- Easier to take objectives. If you outnumber the enemy 2-to-1 it makes taking a keep much easier.
Here's the solutions to both of these problems
- Have AP fall off exponentially by group size. Once you hit a group of 24, you're only getting 1% of full AP, not 10%. Most of the zergs right now are farming zergs that just roll around active areas getting AP.
- Add more map objectives to the map, that are important for map control, that are faster to take if undefended than keeps. Basically, this will allow smaller groups to flip these "mini-objectives" quicker *if undefended. Right now the zerg can effectively defend keeps because of the time it takes to capture one.. it gives plenty of time for the zerg to move and defend. Lower that time AND make more objectives and the zerg will be forced to split up to defend across the map.
- Alternatively, you could move resources away from keeps. Because you need all 3 resources to port, if they were spread around the map it'd be more effective to send groups to take them back than just sending the zerg to take them after taking a keep.
AP and capturing objectives are the only 2 motivations to zerg. Take them away and the zergs will disperse.
