division is not a classic mmorpg like wow/teso etc its a mmo.
gta5 has also a mmo part and looks better than teso, but this are 2 different things

So 2016-17 ESO-2? Or is that too soon to rewrite the game with a more modern engine? Perhaps a dev could let us know if the engine could support TW3 style systems or to some extent at least?

So lifelike, motion captured throughout, ESO I believe doesn't use motion capture and you can tell in the wooden way most things move around. The animators have done ok in ESO but please bring in some motion capture experts.
NPC AI
You don't walk 'through' people in TW3, if you hit them as you are walking they complain, "Oi mate watch out" or "in a hurry?" or various other comments. It's not perfect as if it's crowded it's not easy to navigate through a market square without a shed load of complaints but it's better than ESO by far.
Horse animation
When you turn your horse in ESO it's like it's sitting on a turntable, it looks horrible and it is. In TW3 the horse is pulled around by Geralt and looks again far more natural.

BUT it's not technical limitation. There are MMOs out there with beautiful horse animation (AoC) or NPC population (FF and LOTRO) or collisions.... OK maybe not collision lol...
So here are my comments (on top of yes I want everything too)
1. NPC population. ESO already have this. What we're missing are 2: children and advanced activities (not just walking from point A to B, or hammering the same sword in the anvil throughout the day) The problem is resource. That's a LOT of animation and coding for these requests, and with single-player, they have years to build on it, and pretty much that's it. no further development other than bugs. MMO? No, things kept changing, and they need to continuously develop new content. It's basically constrained resource.
2. Weather and lightning - They've improved on this, but the problem when they go all out is when you raise the MAXIMUM, you need to raise the MINIMUM as well. Meaning, people who are playing in minimum may have really bad experience (if they can play at all) when you improve on things. So they need to thread lightly and carefully. Or else that's a huge chunk of funding walks out the door.

And there are LOTS in Witcher (and many other RPG out there actually) that I want to see in ESO, but it's just too much work to have in an MMO. And most times, it ends up worse than better. Players complaint, exploiting bugs, class balances, etc...
So yeah. Great idea.
But I don't think it's happening.
Good response, don't you think though, as someone else said, it's time they raised the bar a little rather than setting it to the lowest common denominator? I would hazard a guess that those with the lower specced laptops, PCs out there are not that serious about gaming anyway and would therefore be unlikely to invest further in a B2P game in the first place much less sub or spend money on crowns.

the keywords there is "may be".
The only thing the witcher has on eso imo is boats and underwater exploration but that is easily fixed if zos are interested.
As for npc's around town there is also no real players around which are more realistic than npc's.
I'd settle for ESO to have more Elder Scrolls style additions.

I will always be a fan of WAR's collision (only active against enemy players) as opposed to all around collosion detection that would indeed make movement through friendly territories annoying. Though, using friendly collision to use a mount to kick people off high points - who fall to their death - in AoC has always been hilarious to me.

Well I didn't actually state that much about the graphics other than weather and lighting improvements, my number one improvement would be to breathe life into the settlements, I want to see the people there acting like people as per the examples I gave in the OP.
It's true that some areas are quite busy with real players but none are acting like real people, most are running at insane speeds, showing off their buffs, or just standing still whilst they chat in guild chat. In many of the places I'm coming across now in Reapers March for example, as an EP player I find the towns almost totally devoid of other players. This was not something I noticed when I started playing in the EP areas, they were very busy because of course they are full of starter characters, by the time an EP player reaches the last part of Cadwell's Gold the population is very thin and hence the immersion is equally as thin, Arenthia for example is like a ghost town most of today. I assume it's the same for the other factions.
Another example, I recently watched the Silvenar marry the Green Lady, where were the crowds of NPCs? There were a tiny handful with the odd clap, I mean maybe that's a poorly written quest line, certainly not my favourite, but would it have been asking too much to throw in some celebrations?
No matter where you go in TW3 there is something going on, you can get off your horse and just watch the world go by, even listening to a conversation for a while will open up a new quest you wouldn't have found out about without spending the time observing the crowd.
I think this is definitely the part of TW3 I miss in ESO, or perhaps better put would be the area for development I'd most like to see, playing ESO now feels like ESO-lite to me, but I still love it of course, just wanted to throw a few ideas around.

Big TES fan, got into morrowind when I got it free with a graphics card and have been addicted ever since.
Morrowind was a jaw dropping moment for me.
I got TW3 for my PS4 and after 30 hrs playtime, said to my wife "haven't had a game feel so great since Morrowind".
There's something about it that to me is on a completely different level to any other game I've played.
The detail put into the side quests, or running through a forest and feeling like you are in a forest, for me, it's the best game I've seen for years.
It's not perfect (especially the looting, often have to move about a bit to get the "X to loot" to show) but neither was Morrowind.
I love TESO too and I know they are vastly different games. But I've played parts of TW3 and thought to myself how awesome it would be if the TESO devs did xyz like this. Sure some is impossible due to one being an online game, but some should be possible and just because TW3 isn't a TES game, doesn't mean they shouldn't be compared.
I would be very surprised if Zenimax devs haven't been watching/playing the witcher and I would expect those that have played will get quite a few ideas for future games, whether TESO or something else.
Things improve by looking at what competitors do and making sure you do better, not by pretending they don't exist.
I can't put my finger on it, but TW3 does something very right.
