This is why people think it doesn't work. When you limit your chances, chances are small
what limits chances:
-people not using it
-not using it correctly (trying to make changes after hitting search)
-people telling others it doesn't work
-people using zone chat vs the grouping tools
-being too selective when using it correctly
I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to be selective but when the forum theme and zone chat theme is...don't use it...results will apply.
*For those saying..ZOS needs to fix it for me to use it.
*How do you know its not fixed if you aren't using it and telling others its broken?
It works fine for many already but the enhancements since April haven't hurt it, but only made it better.
Good luck!
This is exactly why I'm actually saying to take it down for a while. There are still some issues with it (if people are allowed to make changes after hitting search that should work, so it is a bug that it doesn't work. Either prevent people from making changes or improve so it works.)
By taking it down, making some improvements and maybe even updating the interface a bit, people will try it out when it returns and it will have a chance. The current situation that people don't try it just cause it is always broken is maybe silly, but it is how masses work.
That doesn't make logical sense as the tool is working.
Following that logic the whole game would need to be shut down to fix bugs too

Not really. Group finder is inherently sensitive to social pressures -- it depends entirely on a critical mass of people using it, and bugs or inefficiencies in it will reduce that mass, leading to more delays finding a group, reducing that mass even further. It's a vicious cycle.
Aside from widespread show-stopping bugs, general game bugs will not significantly decrease the number of players; they'll more likely avoid (or exploit, depending on the type of bug) the bugged situations, but continue playing in other ways. Even those who do quit over game bugs don't significantly diminish others' ability to play the game.
Put another way, any dissatisfaction with group finder has a direct and immediate effect on its usefulness; most dissatisfaction with the overall game has only an indirect effect which only rises to a crisis if it affects a large number of players for a sustained period of time.

Actually....they did.
Well not as rigourus that they took it down for some weeks, but Tamriel Unlimited has been marketed as a reboot. Telling the people that ESO pc launch was a fail and that they improved it and dropped the monthly fees and doing so under a new name.
Only if it would be working properly it would not make sense. As it is currently not working properly, but barely, it should be taken down and relaunched when the bugs are out. I suspect and hope they will copy the grouptool from ESO console. If so this would have much more success if they take down the current one now.

If ZoS has officially acknowledged that it isn't working correctly (which they have), then it isn't working correctly.
Why do you think they completely restructured the LFG system for consoles? If the PC version worked correctly, then wouldn't they have just copy/pasted the same system onto console? Why waste developmental funds redesigning a functioning system?

See. That is the difference between you and I. I have acknowledged many times that it works for some people. I have never once accused you or anyone else that uses it with success as being a liar. My standpoint as always been that it does not work for everyone. You however, refuse to acknowledge that it does not work for some people w/o insulting their intelligence by suggesting they are unable to use it correctly.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Inconsistency does not = working correctly. So allow me to ask the same question:
People on PC including myself use it without success. Why is that hard to accept?
Furthermore, ZoS has acknowledged that it isn't working correctly. Why is that hard to accept?

Because in 100% of those who I've played with or who post as such, they are claiming that "one" or "the only selection" they would use is not working rather than addressing the entire use of the tool as a whole.
I don't know your definition but the point is this...if you're someone who isn't getting results, talk to someone who is and figure out how to get results. Let me know if you need help
I can understand them wanting to keep the social aspect, but this only applies to games where there are multiple servers. Since ESO is one big megaserver (I think?) they can implement a dungeon tool similar to the one seen in World Of Warcraft, and be okay.

Isn't it interesting that you were telling everyone that it was working great before the patch in March. You were still telling everyone they were not using it correctly before the patch in May. You were still telling everyone that it didn't work just because of usage before the patch in June, and you were still insisting that it works just fine right up until this latest patch.
So you just linked 5 different attempts that ZoS has made to fix something that you have been saying doesn't need fixing.
So very strange how they keep trying to fix something that isn't broken huh? Even stranger that according to you, it was working great before all those attempts to fix it. And still you insist it isn't broken.

Turn about is fair play, so I shall pick on you for a moment ;D
Just curious.... do you use the grouping tool yourself?
I have tried to use it as ANY role on multiple toons (queue tank or dps and as healer or dps). The ONE time it placed me into a group (after sitting in queue for approximately an hour) if placed me in a low level group, with a greater than 5 vet rank difference.
While I can agree that there is a lot of conspiracy theory going on with it, there is also the fact that is is just plain garbage. This may partially be due to the lack of players using it, or problems with coding, but the end result is the same: It doesn't do what it is advertised to do.
