Why do you guys even want to transfer to consoles?
It´s like willingly nailing your balls to the floor using 9 inch nails and then rapidly stand up.
they might not have any choice in the matter.
not that easy. There are a MYRIAD of reasons as to why they are not doing it any more
1. code - they are transferring a MASSIVE amount of code from one system to TWO, COMPLETELY Different systems, the coding is VERY different in between these system. Heck, once the servers are live for consoles, it might not be POSSIBLE to do it again
2. they might want to try and curb the amount of maxed out characters to a "new" game
3. it could EASILY be that MS and Sony just do not want it, and/or are only allowing a month.
People need to stop and think of exactly what they are doing.
ALSO, ESO is the FIRST game to do allow anything like this at all.

Yes it does. If you don't think that adding loads and loads of VR rank characters to a new platform launch will affect gameplay, PvP, economy, etc, then you're highly mistaken.
Honestly though, if the transfers opened up again with a max character level of 30 or something, I'd be fine with that.

OK if they open it back up for you guys, then they should also open it up to give the loyal players that paid from day 1 right thru and give us more than 1500 crowns, 100 crowns for every month we paid a senche. We deserve it I believe more than you guys. We supported the game from before live and after. Like I stated back then we should have received a lifetime ESO Plus account.
But that isn't going to happen just as it won't happen with you guys. So like me and a few others suck it up and accept it you missed the deal.
What are you talking about? How do you figure opening up the transfer period again means youre due more free Crowns? If they reopen the Transfer period those who missed out would still have to pay the 20 dollar transfer fee. We are exchanging money for a service. Where do you get that you should insert your interest in gaining more free Crowns because of that?
Prime example of someone that has no real reason for why players that missed out on something should go without but would all too much like to cash in on it themselves somehow if it makes a return.
So this is only about you and what they should do for you. Forget the people that have been here every day playing and paying and never received in my opinion a well deserved thank you for supporting us from day one. Yeah you deserve more for not really supporting them.
Personally if they did open it up for you guys it would be one of the worse business decisions they could do. No doubt they would lose players that did support the game with their cash.

This has nothing to do with who was loyal and who wasn't. They told us that if we bought the pc version that we would be able to transfer AT RELEASE. So I went out and PAID for the pc version. Then some months later, after they accepted my money on those terms, they decide to change the terms. I understand completely, that they are legally protected under there "terms are subject to change" weasel clause, but that in no way, shape, or form means that what they did was ethically correct.
http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/2014/05/08/eso-on-consoles--updateWhether you decide to take advantage of this offer or not, we promise to do everything we can to get the game released on both consoles as quickly as we can. We will keep everyone updated with additional details regarding character transfers, specific offer dates, when you can expect console beta to start, and of course, when ESO on consoles will launch.

The original ship was supposed to sail at console release. They changed it after taking a lot of peoples money for the PC version. Shady business practice imho.
Rook_Master wrote: »People are nit-picking Zenimax's words, but it doesn't matter. Their promotion is not a legal contract.
They GENEROUSLY offered people an opportunity to copy their characters to console, but some did not take advantage of it.
That's all. Now please, quit your tantrums. This isn't a retail store where you complain until the manager gives you the item for free.

1. GTA 5 did transfers and they did it between all systems (made a post about this earlier but I was playing neverwinter at the time and mistakenly typed neverwinter instead). My buddy was on PS3 and transferred to Xbone One. If transferring code is a problem for the devs than this game will be forever doomed.
2. I would wager that most transfers are at V14 and they should have expected such. And GTA V didn't really have any issues with "maxed out" characters flooding the servers. Every lobby I was in, there were characters of all levels. Besides, if they were worried about this then they would never have had a transfer option.
3. What reason would MS and Sony have for not wanted more players playing more games? They are in it for the money so I would bet the farm that they want as many gaming addicts as they can find.
I really don't understand why they did what they did but it would help the mods out, as well as the rest of us if they would make an official statement regarding the why. If they can do it once the servers are live, then they need to voice that or they risk losing a lot of business. I don't think I'll be waiting around after launch.
Lets just be honest here, they handled the whole thing poorly from pushing the game back to the transfer itself. They should have either not done it at all, or stuck with what they originally announced (anyone who played the game before June should have been able to transfer at release). The old "subject to change" weasel clause may protect them, but it doesnt make what they did right.
