or, you know, when you get your code just log onto the playstation store via mobile device or pc (if you are not at home) and have your ps4 download it while you are away working and let it continue until it is done....just saying.....its really not that big of a deal unless your internet sucks. In which case it might not have been done downloading until the 9th anyways lol

    p.s.

as long as your system is setup to auto download anything you tell it to (or sony tells it to) you can download it from anywhere that has internet.......

10-12 hour DL for me at best... assuming XBox Live doesn't throttle DL due to traffic.

A way of covering up a big fail during the transfer they need to fix most likely :disappointed:

Not even as we still have to link our accounts using the game so....that can't happen until June 9th.
The code is a separate issue

The account copy is actually just wrapping up. Everyone that's eligible should receive a confirmation email shortly!
    Really??? no pre-load code ???

You can buy the digital version of ESO off the PS store or the Xbox One store & start downloading RIGHT NOW!, but you're making us, the people who have been supporting you (some of us for over a year) wait till the day before release ....

Ya'know I wanna say this surprises me but, with all the other crap ZOS has pulled with the console release it really doesn't anymore :/

    THIS!!!!!!!

Ya I know, but going by the prior e-mail I was expecting the codes to be send out later today or possibly tomorrow at the latest ... not the day before release!
Thank you for purchasing The Elder Scrolls® Online: Tamriel Unlimited™ for Console with account copy.
Your account will be copied from PC/Mac to console on June 1, 2015, at 10AM EDT. Shortly after your account is copied from PC/Mac to the console of your choice, you will receive your digital game code for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.

But with the way things have been going with this console release ... I guess "shorty after" in ZOS-speak is better than "before the end of June" *eye-roll*

ZoS is making it really hard to love this game. I have not seen a company so tone-deaf to their audience and so determined to sabotage their own game so badly since any of Funcom's productions. Sadly, the writing is on the wall for ESO's future. I don't expect much from the console launch when everything from communication over basic features, to a rather useless BETA (that tested next to nothing, including stress), and now this, has been handled with such fumbling arrogance. Or incompetence. I don't know which.

Players who preorder ESOTU through either the Xbox Marketplace or PlayStation Store will be able to pre-download the game prior to its June 9 release. Additionally, PC/Mac players who are eligible for and purchase the transfer to console will be able to pre-download. If you pre-ordered or purchase a copy of ESOTU for consoles from a retailer, you will not be able to pre-download. It's also worth noting that unlike the PC/Mac beta client, which was able to be updated on launch day to the live version, the beta client for consoles cannot be updated in this way; rather, players will require a fresh install / new client when the live version is available (either for pre-download or from a retail purchase). Hope this helps clarify!

65 GB is a lot of internet, even for me. And I have a decent 20 mbps connection. Some people have 3 mbps or even less.

Of course the handful of people with gigabit fiber connections are probably cool with it.

Well, this will be interesting. I'm going to start my install immediately on June 8th when I receive my code. Won't even be playing until June 9th after 5pm EST. Wonder if 24+ will even be enough time to download it.

Anyone know if someone who pre-downloads could share the files with other not able to?

My problem here, personally, is that if my game doesn't download fast enough, someone else might take my guild name, seeing as guilds aren't carrying over from PC to console. This combined with the fact that there's no way of knowing who took the guild name or contacting them makes only being able to preload on the 8th really uncool. ESPECIALLY since I can only imagine how everyone else downloading the game is going to make the already huge download slowly drag it's butt.

Microsoft distributing keys that they likely own is different than ZOS distributing keys that Microsoft likely owns. Doing this only for pre-orders through the Microsoft store makes purchasing there more attractive and brings more sales in through their store, which gets them more money.

    From what I can see:

It's ZoS's fault for making a promise to their customers before reading Microsoft's/Sony's terms for allowing third party code-based download preloading, which isn't allowed.

It's also Microsoft's/Sony's fault for having such limitations on their consoles.

That about right? Microsoft/Sony are the root cause it sounds, as it's their limitations in the first place. ZoS just didn't read all the third party terms for predownloading their games and made promises to their customers which they ended up being unable to keep because of not reading said terms. That in turn is now coming back to bite ZoS in their butts, so to speak.

    o:)
