Yes it does. If you don't think that adding loads and loads of VR rank characters to a new platform launch will affect gameplay, PvP, economy, etc, then you're highly dellusional.
Honestly though, if the transfers opened up again with a max character level of 30 or something, I'd be fine with that.

People were VR ranks within days of the PCs launch. It didnt shatter the games gameplay because the gameplay was already a mess due to bugs and balance issues, it didnt ruin PvP because plenty of people were bumped up to VR upon entering the area (Killed plenty of actual VR + Players at a far lower level then they when I entered Cyrodiil), The economy is tied to the kiosks and the Guild Stores. You can build a fortune all you want but it doesnt have the greatest effect on other players like a single Auction house would if the majority cant afford whatever prices youre trying to set out of their range. And once enough players starting hitting VR (which will be a lot sooner then later) youll be then competing with them for kiosks.
Everything youve mentioned, if they were legit issues ZoS was worried about theyd have never opened up the transfers in the first place.

What are you talking about? How do you figure opening up the transfer period again means youre due more free Crowns? If they reopen the Transfer period those who missed out would still have to pay the 20 dollar transfer fee. We are exchanging money for a service. Where do you get that you should insert your interest in gaining more free Crowns because of that?

I truly did not mean anything in an insulting manner, I was not aware that word was a bad word to describe someone in your country, the translated word is not offensive where I grew up. I replaced that word with "mistaken" in hopes it's not considered an insult.

Dont sweat it, I accept your apology. I get that youre worried about the effect this might have on the game for Console. But for me this was never a 'I want to capitalize on newer players'. For me it was a character that Ive put a lot of work into that I would like to continue to use and play with once I move over to Console. Theres a lot of emotional attachment to this character because I like to RP and Ive put a lot of effort not just in leveling this character but creating a backstory and a 'personality' for the character. So when they announced that they intended to allow us to transfer our characters over. I was 100% onboard because I wouldnt have to recreate this character. But like I said, I was never given the fair chance to take part in the promotion. Not once did I receive a notice that this was going on. Never did I read it anywhere on any site or in an email promoting it. I simply assumed ZoS would have the integrity to advertise it for those who were waiting for the opportunity. This never occurred for me.
Im still buying the Console version. I NEVER said i agreed or disagreed with their response, i was simply pointing out that they DID respond to this despite what some people think, it is just that their response was not you guys liked.
also BTW, STO has had MANY limited time events and i have missed them several times, i was told i was SOL, and guess what, i dealt with it. You were not paying attention to the game, thus, you did not get to do it, not ZOS's fault you missed a whole month. Once you relax the terms retrospectively, you get inundated every time someone misses something else from then on, as well as alienating those who committed in accordance with the original deadline. So, while in some ways sadly, the answer has to be no, a company must stand by its original offer terms and conditions.
Now, if ZOS want to make a revised limited time offer available on significantly less favourable terms, then that's another matter altogether - but I really don't believe they are under any moral pressure to do so, and certainly not any legal pressure to do so.Edited by Tandor on May 31, 2015 3:33PM0 -

It has been in discussions, ESO Support from waaay back after launch, we recieved emails if entitled warning of the 1 month window about twice in just that email.
It will have been discussed on god knows how many other forums, in-game, magazines
If you managed to miss every single mention of it since release, didn't ever bother looking it up or reading the email's notifying you of it, thats on you.
And with RL obligation's, every minute of the 30/31 days can not be taken up, there will have been plenty of time with 10 minute's free to boot up game, pay for account copy, log off never to worry.ZoS please understand everyone thinks and pronounces things differently, so please add to your 'rules' that things get removed if the Mod doesn't actually quite understand phrasing1 -

after 3 or 4 months i stopped playing ESO, instead had a blast on the console, still checked a few times each month on pc - console transfer and when i got the email saying i was eligible, i played for a few weeks and paid for transfer.
So having devoted time to console in that time .. does not mean you then totally ignore anything to do with a game apparently interested in.

I hope Zeni is reading this I just got of the phone with Steven in your customer support you guys should give him a raise. this is after I contacted you guys through email April 9th 2015 after I couldnt purchase the transfer for my account. The person that I dealt with was not helpful at all and really made a bad situation even worse. After talking to Steven I feel better about why you guys did what you did but wish that you would accept a little responsibility for the miss communication that led to me (and Im sure many others) not being able to transfer on APRIL 9th your own deadline. 10 am on the 9th can hardly be called April 9th in my opinion. I only bought the game on PC because you said there would be a transfer.(not a 30 day transfer with 10 am on said day being the end of it)I even tried to purchase it that morning around 8 am but your system wouldnt let me purchase it. I said ok I will take care of this once I get home from work after 6pm. When I got home what did i find no PS4 transfer anywhere. At this point Im willing to pay for a code to just transfer the game I dont even care about the PC content. I really just want to be able to play on my PS4 with out purchasing a game I have on PC that I never really wanted in the 1st place. I know you guys can make this happen too. I implore you to do the right thing and let "US" have our console transfers
This is actually a shame and I'm sorry that this happened to you Priest. IMO you have a pretty legitimate gripe and perhaps others fell into this same category. However the problem you describe is an all together separate problem then the one being addressed by the people in this thread. I'm actually in question of the ability to transfer anything at all. I cannot envision how this does not play out to an obvious powerhouse advantage with no hope of ever catching up, from ambitious console players that are looking forward to a new game on their given platform.

Some of those PC players were ones who have missed out on offers, and said they dealt with it.
Some of those PC players are saying that if they were interested in the game they would have checked in on the news/e-mail/forums/FAQ once during that month and so would have seen the information.
Some of those PC players have suggested that even if the one-time-only console copy isn't available they might be offering a paid transfer later.
Some of those PC players even agree with you.
I don't agree with you, and I am a PC player, for three reasons:
1) I've been on the wrong end of limited time offers before and have dealt with it.
2) I encountered so many references to the console copy (and its limited nature) in the space of that month I actually started getting annoyed at ZOS.
3) I suspect that ZOS may try for a Crown Store character transfer later on after the dust has settled.

✭YES, but they need to buy another copy and pay $20 for the transfer.I don't really care what I would have to pay as long as I get another opportunity to transfer my collections to console I'll be happy.
Especially seen as how they didn't make the transfer details as widespread as they should have plus alot of people never got emails when they should have.
Probably never going to happen though.0
