Ever since my first day in ESO at release, I've been looking forward to a Darkness Falls (DAOC) type of experience in it. Has anyone heard - has there been any mention - of when the Imperial City is to be released?

Same here... I have been waiting a long time, especially since it was originally slated for around September of last year
. The game in general has needed new substantial stuff to do, especially on the PVP end of things where the Imperial City was designed to round out Cyrodiil. -First-Wave Closed Beta Tester of the Psijic Order, aka the 0.016 percent.
Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!
-Playing since July 2013, back when we had a killspam channel in Cyrodiil and the lands of Tamriel were roamed by dinosaurs.

They indicated in twitch chat on last weeks ESO live that there is likely to be an announcement at E3.... this is on the 15th June.
We won't know anything before then.... it would be 'Stealing their own thunder' as Kai put it.
But an announcement at E3 of when it will be hitting PTS & a few more details of whats in it is what I would suspect.....
I don't think they would (Or sensibly could) put an exact date on final release. It hasn't even been through PTS testing yet, so if they give an actual release date & then get bugs/fail to hit the release date then everybody will just be up in arms again.GM of the Unholy LegacyPC/EU/EP0 -
