No i wouldn't mind the expense at all i just need another chance to transfer at launch as this deadline clearly wasn't posted properly

Not everyone follows twitter and facebook I would think the dashboard or forums would be a better place for it.

And zos you never sent me an e mail.

Throwing money at something is never an effective solution to any problem. Until ZeniMax comes out and says they need a net budget of $X dollars to make Y product happen, I can never be certain where my money is going. For all I know, somebody at ZeniMax may have spent the $40 in crowns I bought to buy dinner for an elitist guild leader. It may have gone to buying soap and toilet paper for the ESO office. It may have gone into developing a new dog audio mix.

I'll never know, so the quantity of money isn't nearly as important as having refined and reasonable plans and goals. That's why crowdsourcing became so popular. Not because it's the best way to raise money, but because you know how much money a project needs and what results the creators want from it.

We don't know what more money for ZoS equals yet, except more money for ZoS. And I don't think ZoS would have legally limited their options on the $20 digital copy and transfer if they saw it as a revenue-enhancing project. More likely it was a loss leader.

    2014 = $60-$100 plus $15/month sub /ESO plus + crown purchases + $20 console copy
2015 = $60 (no copy) but if allowed after March 2015 $20 and maybe $15 to $30 of ESO plus

Simple math, the original offer is far more money than the latter.

    Your idea:
$60-$100 + or - any sub or ESO plus or crown purchases and lack of get to pay to copy their accounts to console for anything less than $60

By default ZOS misses any chance for those customer to buy crown items again, missed another $60-$100 in game or box sale, misses any suggested benefits to buy ESO plus ANd they get the headache of service concerns about account copying on random dates in addition to paying each console the difference as ZOS set up a special agreement for this offer only as a one time "offer"

In a month that's hundreds of thousands of $ to millions of $ lost for a launch title
    [/quote]

You went way out in leftfield on that one. I'm only talking about adding character transfers as a static item to the crown store after launch. If you can't see that as a way to make money for a service that many folks would glady use then I just can't help you.

Don't compare dontations to a charity, to profits of a business. Thats apples and oranges. Besides, whether or not we agree that ZoS's profitablity is good for us, i KNOW that them not making money is BAD for all platforms.

I can't guarntee that they will spend the money i give them wisely. But as long as they provde me with services I want, i will gladly support them.

It's not in any way shape or form a way to make money for ZOS.
Right off top it's a loss

The comments were a few examples of why and how it's in no way a form of profit for ZOS.

It would be a form of profit if there were a server within each platform to pay for a "transfer" and not a copy from NA to EU or vice versa limited to one platform but opening up a copy or transfer from one platform to another is going to always be a loss

If it were profitable then many companies would have offers to transfer from PS4 or Xbox One or vice versa within each game a developer produces.

There are reasons why it's not offered....

Edit: It's a lot more involved than just a $20-$30 or $40 cost to the customer

Someone who is not spending any money on the game now decides to buy the game all over again on a new platform and he only does so becuse he knows he can tranfer his progress for a small fee. Thats 80 dollars of new revenue plus any future potential revenue that said player may spend due to his renewed interest in the game.

Same player thinks...man i would love to play this on PS4 but i don't feel like releveling my toons...nah ill pass, or wait til they offer me a transfer.

Yes but this isn't "more" money.
That person or any other new potential buyer spend this same amount
One buys an account copy or transfer while the other buys ESO plus or something from the crown store and ESO plus.

Transfers after the launch will create too many issues, mainly someone new creates a character(s) with the same name as yours. Duplicate names are not permitted as they are unique.

So who has to change there toons name? One of them will then come on here and create a post here, just like this one, that they can't have the name they were playing on.

Just for this issue It is unlikely that after launch transfers will happen.

Anyone eligible for a transfer that missed it.... Create a ticket and press the support side. If enough tickets from eligible players are seen then may do something IF YOU BOUGHT THE GAME DURING THE ORIGINAL OFFER DATES last year.

Pleading your case on this forum won't help due to the amount of NON ELIGIBLE players that want to transfer also.

The time period of the initial offer was made to limit the number of transfers so those starting on the console were not in the minority at launch. The non eligible amount of players wanting a transfer is quite large. Can you see that allowing everyone the ability to transfer will be harmful for the consoles?

I feel for your missed opportunity but I have a job and a wife and kids yet knew there was not a lot of info on how this was going down. That sent up red flags to me to check in from time to time. And on hindsight all that was required was to check in once a month and do a search then you would not have missed the offer.

I agree. This is a Problem. It's not that a month is a short amount of time.

The problem here is that I spent more than $100 on this game when I started playing it on PC. I intended to play it more on xbox one, but missed the window to buy the account transfer by 2 days. There shouldn't have been a limited window at all no matter how generous the limit.

Some of us payed a lot of money when this game launched to become a part of the community and support ESO. We were promised something that we are now being denied and that is never OK.

I've had only positive interaction with ESO customer service until this, so let us hope they see the necessity to bring original PC players back to the game by allowing an extension of this offer. There's really no good reason not to.

I know I wont be dropping that much money a second time to start over from scratch on my console.

Ok, someone of reason has to step in....

ZOS should do free transfers for everyone who own both games. Only now, people have to pay full price for the game. I don't think they should get it at the 20.00 cost. That deadline is gone but the transfers should never be gone.

A free transfer is a VERY unreasonable request...

Dude it's not hard to copy a table from a database, It's something along the lines of:

    CREATE TABLE db2.table LIKE db1.table;
    INSERT INTO db2.table SELECT * FROM db1.table;

Even if they are converting to objects then inserting it's practically child's play in the programming world...

I'm sorry, but having only 30 days to claim this offer on the off chance that this email was going to be seen within 30 days is ridiculous. I will NOT be purchasing this game nor will I start to play ESO again. I was really looking forward to enjoying this title on my Xbox one, as I rarely play any games on the PC. What's the point of playing if your players are forced to check secondary email addresses daily to ensure they don't miss anything. Shouldn't I always be eligible? I paid for this game + subscription for months after it came out. On top of this, I was one of the first people to purchase this title. This company is never going to offer an account transfer ever again? How do they plan on keeping loyal players if they decide to start playing on consoles? I'm trying to BUY the game for a second time and the answer from the company is "sorry you missed the email" Wow, just wow...I'm very sorry I ever supported this title. This lack of commitment is not good for business. I don't think World of Warcraft would turn down anyone willing to pay money. It's actually quite sad.

    OOohhh STAHP the tears man..

Just knuckle up and get in here with the rest of us that missed the cut off. If being ahead of a lot of players means that much to you then good riddance I say..

It isn't like it will take you a month to hit VR's AND you already know most of the game so even less.

Also wanted to add. I would be willing to bet that after a few months there will be another transfer option.
Thing is if they announced transfers like some people wanted they would have NEVER sold as many console copies.

Consoles should have NEVER had to deal with transfers in the first place.

Transfers are crap. PC transfers are death squads at vamp and WW spawns.

Starting a "new game" on console with people already at VR14 when it has a champion system that rewards players for spending 100's of hours on this game by making them more powerful(I think that's fine), is complete and utter crap for the brand new players who have high aspirations for PvP or becoming emperor or trying to be "the first" to achieve success in numerous places on console, it kills it. I know alot of console players that are bummed out ( the game released a year ago for you, skipped us, no matter what state it was in any transfers have a tremendous leg up on the competition for people who actually want to be competitive) and just generally are not even thinking of trying to push for emperor.

Seriously, you had a deadline, you failed to meet it. That's on you. Don't let more transfers flood the console side and put all of our "vertical progress" back in the stone age.

If they do, then they better give vets their own server. It's already annoying enough that many of us new to the game are playing catch up with vets. The economy is dictated by this, names are all taken, etc.

From day one console players should have been placed on a new server only accessible to console players. PC transfers should have been on their own server. I've made a few friends who are vets, and I am glad to have met them, but just the same, I never liked the idea of playing catch up with transferred PC players.

I have accepted that some vets already exist and are already affecting the economy and pvp in major ways, a whole massive new wave of vets would be absolutely terrible. If this were to ever happen, they would have to allow console players to transfer to a non-vet, non-transfer only server.

Pc transfers were a stupid idea, why let people who are pretty much maxed into new servers?

Ex pc guilds pretty much run certain pvp campaigns , nothing like having your entire group wiped out by a vet14 with 600 cp to make you decide to pve for a bit.

I generally don't see why maxed people bothered coming onto console just to kill new players, move on to another game or make a new character, it can't be fun killing a few rand lvl 20's who have no idea how to pvp properly.

I'd be all for offering a $20 console and transfer for anyone with a form of honorable discharge identification (DD214, license, Vet card), so long as you purchased and registered the game by the initial June 30, 2014 deadline.

But ZeniMax limited the console transfer. They didn't leave any wiggle room in the offer for exceptions for the digital edition or the console transfer. So while we can brainstorm millions of good ideas, it really is beating a horse that is beyond dead and gone.

While these acts of honor and valor may have indeed caused an inconvenience, it doesn't require ZOS to implement additional character transfer opportunities. There are many reasons that one may have missed this cutoff, but that doesn't make it any more logical for them to bring it back.

Out of curiosity, do you petition to local retailers when you miss out on bargains/deals for the same reasons?

Why? not ZOS's fault you did not pay enough attention and missed the MASSIVE amount of info about it. There was a MONTH to be able to do it, there is no way possible you would not have been able to do it in that month.

I was deployed in Afghanistan as I am in the Army for 6 Months, the Massive amounts of publicity about this and the entire month were whilst I was deployed. I was in an outpost in Sangin that didnt have running water, let alone internet access. We got 10mins a week (when the system was working, IF we werent on patrol, IF the power hadnt cut, IF we werent getting shot at or mortared) to answer emails, but access was restricted to a military page that let us draft emails for sending, we didnt have the privlidge of accessing the general internet due to security restrictions.

Please think that there are 100s of possible ways people wouldnt have been able to register and transfer, we dont all have the luxury of being students/having a stable home life etc.

For these reasons, I would dearly love another opportunity to transfer to PS4.

Thank you for saying something. I wrote them about our unit being deployed into the Straits of Hormuz for a time sensitive mission. But I have yet to receive a response back. Something has to be done or the opportunity to present proof to obtain the transfer. We will know in time. I do hope they find a way to help resolve this issue in a fair manner.

Hope someone responds soon. Here's to hope.

I don't care about retailers, I only own MMO's. So that doesn't affect me.

Also telling people to give up is shameful.
Give up: cease making an effort; resign oneself to failure.

No thanks I rather not. The only easy day was yesterday.
Then by all means practice what you are preachin bruh!
Get in there on console and stop living the easy life in yesterday......

I missed the transfer cut also, but I am not really worried about it..
The longer you sit here protesting this the farther you could have been to grinding CP's on console with the rest of us :/

Anything useful that players are wanting added into the game all fall under the category of "Yer ruinin my 'mersion!" Sallington

I agree. I spent good money being essentially a paying beta tester on the PC and now i want to transfer to console after being a member since the first day of PC version and i am being told that this simply is not possible. I paid for the game... TWICE... i paid membership, followed by esoplus membership since it was released and there is no transfer option... Well that is BS how hard is it to make a copy of a charachters stats. Develop a script that converts and tables to different formats as required and save the data to the other database??? NOT VERY HARD... and subsequently as this is not able to be done i have cancelled my plus membership and will be ceasing to pay any money to the game and probably wont even play on PC because i am so pissed off.

I would have thought that any option that could potentially make you more money would be one you would jump on... get a coder to spend a couple of days writing a copy script and potentially make thousands almost instantly... Make people pay $20 PER CHARACHTER and they will be happy to. I would spend 80 right away as soon as it was implemented... But no, instead i just get told there is no intention to run the offer ever again. Well screw you i am returning my console version of the game and buying one where the devs actually give a crapola about their players.

And many people can comment on how it is the fault of those who didn'ttake up on the offer, but frankly it is a potential money maker for the devs why wouldn't they consider it. Because i didn't have a ps4 at the time buying transfer was pointless, now i do it isn't available (not that i noticed the email anyway but i found out about the offer from a friend not long before it ended and wanted a hard copy of the game anyway as download speeds in Australia are terrible.

Oh well it is all good i'll just give my money to some other devs.
