If they were added, and I'll grant you that I'm neither sure they should be, nor would I make it a priority for the DEV team, but if they were, I would like to see it come in the form of an actual series of quests, and that a player who has turned can't just bite another player to give that player the quest. Something that has to be stumbled upon and truly earned.

So would it be a different skill form the Werewolf?

Sure, why not. I mean, it's not likely it will happen so all of this is purely conjecture anyway.

That is to be entrusted with passing the gift to those you feel worthy. But a third party creature other than a Werewolf should not be able to pass the gift on. Might look great on a wall next to a frost Troll head.
Yeah, we need no more of these things from existing Elder Scrolls lore in the game, there's already too much of it... Let's get rid of everything that's lore-friendly!We need no more supersticious flavor in the game, there are already to much of it...

Lycanthropy should really only cover the werewolf.
I don't care if leading fantasy has dumbed things down.
Lycan and Lupinus are book Latin-based words pertaining to the wolf.
Were/wer means man, though, so I'm not opposed to adding a werebear or a wereboar. But they should not be in a line that translates to Wolf Man.
