NA Megaserver Lag Spikes

So I noticed a thread in regards to the EU megaserver having lag spikes and that ZOS is currently working on fixing it. This is also in regards to the lag spikes going on in Cyrodiil and even throughout other zones yet I haven't found a mention regarding the NA server and was curious since a great many players I know and have conversed with in guilds, zone chat, and friend's list all have experienced these odd lag spikes at roughly the same time frame. Can anyone confirm if there is work being done on the NA server too?

So I have been experiencing lag too in Cyrodill. And so my friend that I met, he is in alliance AD and he has a guild that is mostly all military people in it and he said that they use a program to cause lag. Not sure if this is entirely true..

I'm aware of the people using that program, I just saw a thread the other day regarding something wrong on the EU server where people even in Cyrodiil experience this and I can vouch from first hand too... it'll be completely fine one minute then the next couple minutes out of the blue will have these massive latency spikes.

ZOS has mentioned this several times in ESO Live. They have a team of fluctuating size (small staff means a lot of reallocation) dedicated to fixing lag. These are programmers working through the server code for bottlenecks, inefficiencies, errors, you name it. The changes they make are not included in the Patch Notes, and will likely never be felt in the short term.

But they are fixing the lag.

They have been working on the Lag since the lighting patch, back in June of last year, they even blamed it on the Deer and torch bugs and removed them from Cryodill, and lowered the amount of players in each campign.

However a year later there is just as much lag as before, now that we are free to play, most of the resources will be directed towards getting the cash from consel release, and desgining new shinies to sell in the crown store so they can afford to make that mortage and car payment.

Because if no one buys anything in the crown store they don`t get paid.

They might be TRYING to fix the lag, but there's no evidence of it in-game yet.

1 year without improvement usually means it's broken beyond repair or it's a flawed design to begin with. Either that or you need to fire whoever is working on it and bring in a new team. With my experience working in IT, if I'm working on something that is broken for 1 year and show no improvement, I'm canned.

I've been getting this bad today, 30 meter travel resets (not bad like loosing stuff) that is not tied to traveling too fast, it happens when I'm walking too. I'm also experiencing 3 to 4 second delays on harvesting as well as hit registering gets stuck to the point when it catches up I'm dead. This is happening to me in Gold VR zones so I know it ain't a population thing, although it has also been happening in Craglorn also. When this happens lag has shown anywhere from 150 to +999

I'm gonna chalk it up to internet problems in my area today, as I have restarted everything and checked driver updates, but if someone else is having problems please speak up in case it is something else.

Yeah originally I thought it could have been on my end (Time Warner woo!) I have the fastest connection offered live in like the only city in the state and checked my connection numerous times and everything is usually fine on my end. Only once did I find out it was due to my ISP other then that I get those unusual pings and it would be in a non-pvp zone half of the time. Also the small fluctuating team should really be upgraded in finding the issues cause making it into a slow process of repair will only cause other gamers to be less likely to play.

I have the same issues as all of you have described. I have tested my ping through web site speed tests and have pinged through the command prompt, the elderscollsonline.com and google.com websites and a few others; google averaged about 18ms with no spikes more than within 2ms, but the elderscrolls website pinged an average of 50ms, which isn't bad, but the spikes went up to 150ms about every ten seconds; I ran the test for about a minute in all. I know their website may or may not be run through the same server, but it sure seems that way.
