DEVS - Is there final confirmation of 1080p 30fps for console?

it might be reasonable to say that one (or perhaps even both) consoles is unable to hit the targets. In such a case, rather than lose sales ZoS will obfuscate on the issue.

It's all conjecture at this point though.

also: who the hell bought an X1? masochist much?

I have a PS4 but I've got to tell you, the difference isn't all that great, you probably wouldn't even notice. Matter of fact I'm kinda getting buyer's remorse from it, Xbox exclusives seem so much more promising than PS4 ones.

only because MS paid Mega bucks to publishers to make their games X1 exclusives.... not a fan of market manipulation or of being manipulated :P .... to say nothing of MS' game plan at the release of X1

You do know that's literally the only way that consoles get exclusives, no publisher or dev will willingly compromise their profits by just releasing on one console unless they get paid for their risk. If MS or Sony didn't pay for exclusives, all games would be multiplat except those developed internally. Xbox has some really cool titles coming up like Gigantic, Fable Legends and Halo 5. Meanwhile PS4 has Uncharted (meh) and some horror game I dont really care about, and a bunch of japanese games I also don't care about (not really into japanese games).

Anyways both consoles are more than capable of handling ESO I'm sure of it, like I said before it probably is capped at 30fps because they can let PvP use 60fps such that they drop all the way to 30 and players wont notice the difference between Cyrodiil and the rest of the world.

my point is that MS released a sub par product, that forced users to subscribe to use it, and when the consumer base picked up on it the resulting backlash forced MS to bribe Publishers into X1 Exclusivity.

I'm sorry you don't like the current Sony Catalog, perhaps you should have done more research?

Third Party Exclusives aside, both Sony and MS tend to acquire Publishing Houses and Development Houses to increase profit margins, MS however is far more aggressive in pushing for exclusive content, a practice that was starting to relax but i suspect that with sales of their Surface product line has reared its ugly head again.

MS likes to remember its monopolising heydays... pre iMac and EU lawsuits.

Have both systems and personally use the X1 a lot more and that's where I will be playing this. I personally would be worried about Sonys crap financial status more than the X1 being a slower seller. Wish Sony would just spin off the gaming arm since they are the only ones worth anything. Speaking of which I could see a future where PS gets spun off and Microsoft buys the consumer electronics part of Sony.

GO Console! Lol, but seriously do PS4 only owners feel that insecure about their choice? Slightly higher powered system and more sales yet anytime I see PS4 and X1 in the same topic there is someone trying to act superior. Just as bad as all the PC master race junk you have to deal with.

    i never went into performance.
just like i wont buy another blizzard game because of the way i feel about their MO, I felt strong enough about MS' implementation that i decided i'd rather not support the X1.

so yeah less PC master race, MS/Apple, etc and more i really didnt like where they were trying to go :pensive:

Sony have been targeted fairly hard last few years, it'd be sad to see them go if that is what ends up happening, but then nothing last forever.

Simple answer - WHAT IS THE XBOX ONE BETA RES RUNNING IN?

Almost everyone that I know of that played the Beta said that both were 1080p/30fps (for the most part). I know for myself, I can tell the difference, but that was the beta, it did have some issues, like combat to me seemed sluggish/delayed compared to the PC version. This could of been due to lag/servers or it could of been the game itself.

While, the beta from what I played was 1080p, who knows what the release version will be running at. They could reduce resolution to 900p to improve frame rate even more, but until ZOS says something official we will not know. It would be nice to hear it from them before DF does their analysis "after" release.

I thought the sluggish/delayed combat fixed in 1.6 update..thats why i came back to play the game.consoles dont have the 1.6 update? Man this is a dealbreaker..i can stand slightly lower graphics but if the console version have the combat of eso release then i m not gonna buy it :(.

Can another beta tester confirm this please?

The game felt smoother than it does on PC for me. I loved the combat on console it seemed faster than when I play on PC. I loved the controller layout all but where the weapon swap was. On PC I play at 720p on low settings, It blew me away how good this game looked when I loaded it up on console. I had a few dips in fps while in pvp, where I spent a lot of time. There wasn't even a lot of action going on sometimes and it happened. fps didn't drop to the teens though maybe low 20s. Consoles have the justice system so that puts it above the 1.6 update?

But in consoles there is different api and also developers can optimize their game for a single hardware and not try to make it work for xxxxxx different ones.balso on pc there are multiply other things running in th. Process while in console its only the game.

Do not compare just the hardware available..surd a very strong pc is much better, but you need a pc at least 1000+ euro to notice a difference.

Re: console wars. Refer to this:

    http://www.listwar.com

As you can see the PS4 has more games and exclusives, present and scheduled to be released. Whether you like those games or not is irrelevant, since they exist. On the other hand, X1 has unique media features not found on Playstation consoles. PC still trumps each console in terms of library and specs. Just play on whatever platform you and your friends enjoy and be quiet with this nonsense.

Also, since they're being so cagey about resolution clearly one or both platforms are not hitting the "target".

ABSOLUTELY. False... Had to caps on that. :)

Console release on June 9th will have the latest major update from PC. You will actually be seeing at least 2.0 update. There is a 15gig update on release day. This is on top of the 50gig initial install.

This information has been confirmed on ESO live episode where they demo the console and numerous other sources.

All I know is that with an i7-4790k, I would get drops in Cyrodil in the low 20's and low 30's in cities.

Good luck keeping a steady 30FPS on the console CPUs. MMOs are usually CPU-bottlenecked, and ESO is no different.

They have told you the target is being met, and if not they will tell you otherwise. I am not sure why you're finding this so hard to understand.
Post proof that they said the target is being met. If you actually found them saying that, then you are the first to find it and this thread will end in a heartbeat. What Michelle said is not by any means proof, it actually sounds like the target might NOT get met.

English is not my first language, Finnish is.
Please don't heap on me for grammar problems.

Hey there, folks. We do have an answer for this available on our knowledge base: our targets for framerate and resolution on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are 30 FPS and 1080p resolution.

If that ever changes, we will update that article.

    @ZOS_MichelleA
The problem is that it says "our targets for framerate", not that the targeted framerate is actually being met. That's what's throwing off a lot of people. Is the target being met so far into development?

They are just saying that to cover their own backs before the game is launched, anything could change from here until its June release.

...That is exactly the point of this thread. We are wanting to know if the target is being met or not. The code is ultimately finished for consoles, as they have to ensure enough time to burn and ship all those thousands and thousands of blu-ray disks to thousands of stores that will sell them starting June 9th.

Look, read between the lines will you. We are a little over 2 weeks away from launch and they haven't said its NOT 1080p. I highly doubt they will wait till this short of time before release to announce that they didn't reach their targets because then that would look bad on them.

The reason they are not saying it IS confirmed is should any unforeseen issues happen, they don't want to be held liable. You maybe forgetting about a certain country called America, where lawsuits are a dime a dozen, and happen over any. little. thing.

And yet I have heard of very, very few cases of customers suing video game companies over broken promises. However, I have seen promises broken left and right, including downgraded graphics. Experience leads me to expect the worst case scenario. Of course, I hope I'm wrong. :)

You're referring to Watch Dogs and look how that did on console. It was so over hyped and the initial graphics were awesome. What was released was, well, subpar.
