For Console Players: Is screen resolution or higher graphics more important to you?

If you had to sacrifice screen resolution for higher graphics, or vice versa, would you? This is completely hypothetical of course. We might very well end up playing at 720p and the graphical equivalent of High settings on PC, regardless of how we think the game will end up playing.

Edit: That third option is a goof on my part obviously :P

as long as the game plays and looks as well as Skyrim, i'd have no issues. the game looked great on the 360... i'm hoping FPS and playability are at the top of ZOS's list. i can't wait to play the console version.

PLease have eso at 1080p on consoles with high settings. If any thing eliminate shadows and antialiasing.

I would rather have lower screen resolution with only high graphics AND 30 fps maintained. I'll gladly sacrifice pixels and graphic fidelity to ensure the game always runs smooth. That said, beta looked great and was smooth so I'm not worried.

I would rather have higher resolution at high graphics.

But to be honest, my PC currently has a Q8600 2.4ghz quad core CPU, 8gb DDR2 RAM and a GTX 6600 2gb GPU. SO at it's core my PC is 8 years old.

I can run this game on ultra at 1080p (on my 55" TV

), with a few tweaks to view distance. I get 30-40 FPS when adventuring by myself, 60 FPS indoors, dungeons etc... and 20-40 in cities. Last time I played PvP I had to lower the settings, but that was over a year ago and I cannot remember to what level, I think is was medium.

So what I am saying is if the next gen consoles cannot run this game at 1080P with a steady 30 FPS then they are not even as powerful as an almost 8 year old PC, that's pretty crap for a supposed next gen machine...

The one kind of goes with the other, to a point. Ever dialed your resolution down? Might be less taxing on the GPU and allow additional effects to be in place, but the end result is not necessarily better visually.

With the console power today, you shouldn't have to choose one over the other.

It won't be near 30 at all times. I have a feeling that you will only hit 30 fps when you're alone.

When engaged in play, I cannot notice the difference between Medium and High and Ultra-High graphics at 1080p, so the graphics settings are not particularly important. What is noticeable is screen size, or resolution as you put it. I'd prefer a larger screen I can see more details on than finer details on a smaller screen.

I'm not playing on console but I don't see console getting 1080P on Xbox One when most high detailed offline games can't run 1080P.

My guess is it will 900P run up-scaled to 1080P. I would even prefer the PS4 to not do 1080P if they can't pull off 1080P at 30 fps most of the time in ESO. Consoles will probably have default reduced view distance and priority close renders to make the game run smoother.
