    i agree it contributes to lag, but i dont think it should be removed. Change the animation for it? sure ill vote yes for that.

    Remove meteor in its current state. Too much GFX and SFX associated with the skill.

    Once that is cleaned up, the damage/effect component is fine.

    • Fix Volendrung (spawn location - weapon white on the map causing the wielder to keep it forever - usable with emperorship)
    • Remove / Change CPs System, remove current CP/noCP campaigns and introduce one 30days with lock, one with no locks
    • Fix crashes when approaching a keep under attack because of bad / wrong rendering prioritization system
    • Change emperorship to value faction score points and not alliance points - see this and this
    • Fix long loading screens (mostly caused by players joining group out of rendering range)
    • Add 2 more quickslots to the wheel or add a different wheel for sieges weaponry only

    Campaign stacking is really stupid, no debate there, not sure why so many new faces showed up on EP side, i think some on DC even, and perhaps a few too many (previously well needed) AD showed up. With the servers being the way they are... Basically if you are ever in a situation where you can even get in a quene, the server is over taxed.

    Tonight was the worst PvP I have had in quite a long time. 0 fighting on the bridge, but people sat their for atleast 30 minutes (I left after that, probably went longer). We went to try and siege WARDEN, and we couldn't because all the people stacked lagging the server. AD intentionally spread themselves after Chillrend, going to different servers.

    It appears EP has to travel together? Aside from you guys of course. As I mentioned before, Haderus could really use some love and Chillrend possibly if populations increase again.

    And we really enjoyed the past few times when it was 3 bar EP/DC and 2 bar AD once our 16 showed. Lost some fights against the large numbers at bleakers, but won a lot too. And mostly the game was playable and could actually time ultimates and move/streak without getting rubberbanded.

    I had someone chase me around the roof of BRK for like 3 minutes lag spamming meteor on me over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and... yeah you get the idea.
    I kept running out of magicka purifying it off of me, do you know how cheap purify is? FFS
    I guess the bigger issue is how much lag the animation causes, but especially when an entire group insists on dropping nothing but meteor ultis all at once, then lag spamming them :tired_face:

    Disabled temporarily would be the best option.

    Shouldn't get rid of an ability because ZoS is to lazy to work on the servers, and players shouldn't be getting tigger happy during lag and spamming it 50+ times making the lag worse and then complaining about how X faction/group is causing the lag.

    All it takes is one person to cast it over and over again to increase the ping past 1000.

    It should be taken out until the game can handle multiple people casting it at once, or it being cast only once in a lag fight.

    I don't want every nice effect removed just because stupid annoying pvdamnp - remove pvp from the game since that's where most issues arise.

    Or if I am being serious: undo whatever was done around 1.3 that farked the whole thing up. I think it was the lightning patch thing or whatever.

    We had epic battles, zergs, aoe like crazy, bats, novas the everywhere, 20 people spamming Elemental Ring PRE Ele ring Nerf and *We Never Had Lag Like This* not even in Wabbalag. (Wabbajack - defunct campaign where people ran around naked with their hair on fire and had a blast doing it.)

    So if you counted the Yes, with the No votes saying disable it until fixed we easily have a majority.

    I get the meteor is a pretty visual effect, but i am also seeing some pretty hardcore PvP players saying please remove it. I am guessing they want it removed because they see first hand on a daily basis how much its abused.

    The most depressing part is out of all 3 factions, its always the same guilds who end up using it.

    Until a solution is found, when you ask how many people are running meteor... dont say 'good' when 10-12 players say ME, instead say 'please slot something else'.

    I think the problems are not Meteor, just Meteor showcases the problems with the server/netcode more then other skills do.

    They need to fix the underlying problems(major code re-write) if they actually want to fix the lag.

    Honestly, Meteor causes more problems than it solves.

    Something about the graphic and particle effects can really bork the server when lots of people are spamming it.

    It's really not used much for PvE, or is it? Would the hardcore PvEers cry if it was removed?

    Young padawon, There are bugs that take a year to fix that effect one class.

    Then there was the FPS drop patch where every single player in the game had 3 fps and if im not mistaken it took them somewhere between 6-8 weeks to get rid of that issue.

    ZoS moves slow, thats why disabling/removing things is a real solution, not a joke one.

    The issue is latency and GBAOE.

    The little constellation that forms at your feet to alert you that a meteor is coming is causing the lagz.

    If you slot rune/mines/paths/cinder/springs/etc you know there is a point of lag/bodies where these skills no longer render. You can cast them, you can even see dmg occur 10-20 seconds later but the interface elements don't happen.

    Meteor combines a huge cast animation (iit's like spiking a footbal with confetti) that is instacast (all the other big ones have a cast time and stop working entirely).

    Server cannot handle the meteors. Rework it and save the megaserber.

    Yet another thread where PVPers QQ about this or that skill because of Cyrodiil lag or a perceived advantage without a passing thought on what this means to PVE, where most players play. Do you really think the problems in Cyrodiil are just a few skill animations? I was there last night at a dolmen with horrible lag and not a single meteor cast. The fact that everything used to work fine in Cyrodiil should promote a cry for ZO$ to fix whatever *** up code they introduced that broke Cyrodill, not to nerf every other skill that is very useful and problem free everywhere but Cyrodiil.

    Correlation is not causation. Just because you see a bunch of particle effects (client side only) does not put more burden on the server more so than ANY other aoe.
    Just because you see a lot of people spamming meteor when there is lag, does not prove the ability causes lag which is in anyway disproportionate to other aoe abilities. The fact that metor is "spammable" due to lag, actually implies that it is a symptom rather than a cause of the problem.

    Now, if you are running into fps/client issues, I'd believe meteor might be an issue, because it is particle effect heavy. I'd recommend reducing your graphics settings if you are seeing your fps drop in addition to a lag spike.

    Maybe temporarily disabling that skill in PVP (and anything else that is abused to cause lag in PVP) would be a better solution than to yank it out of the game altogether. It's fun to use and lag-free in PVE and it would be a shame to lose it just because a few jerks misuse it to purposefully lag everyone else in PVP.

    Of course the best solution would be a complete overhaul of PVP to fix the problems with how some abilities work there.
