@Davadin If I'm not mistaken, the main reason people wanted to kill children in Skyrim was this character: http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121021003044/elderscrolls/images/1/16/Nelkir.png

Then just don't let children be selectable/killable.

    Seriously, what's the big deal?

If you see children in-game and you feel the urge to kill it due to another game..... people, turn off your PC and GET HELP.

because adding a lot of NPCs in a lot of places would take a lot of work, work that they NEED to put toward MUCH more contsructive things.

Also, as many said having invincible children is just as reaslitc as simply not having them
    no it's not.

    not for me anyway.

then again, i wouldn't even think of asking the question "are they invincible? maybe i should try slitting their throat from the back..."

LOTRO added children NPCs (yes, they dont have justice system) and it simply makes the world that much more alive.

you guys seen Witcher 3 trailer?

Yes, there are children in the NPC villages.

One can only wish ESO can get to that level.

you talking about Lord of the rings online when speaking of Lotro? cause it has no such thing.

they added it right around housing. exists in Bree-town and inside housing.

not alot but there are now.

no im not talkin about hobbitses. but yes, there are hobbit children in hobbiton housing.

childrenm yeah, a couple, still no stealing or anything like teh justice system this game has,

Huh? Running around laughing and playing? This is Elder Scrolls game, fields need to be harvested, ore mined and depraved aristocrats....well...entertained. For a fair price of course.

Anyway, they could reuse the code they had for Cyrodiil mercenaries. That was some solid case of untargettable NPCs.

but unless you're a psychopath like I explained earlier, you shouldn't pull a relationship between the two:
    a. children.
    b. justice systems that allows you to kill anyone/anything even innocence.

What does it matter if there are kids in a game like this?

    This an MMORPG.

The RP stands for Role Playing.

In Role Playing, there's a level of "immersion" that a game should simulate as a requirement of the genre. Things like, able to customize your in-game avatar. Ability to "grow' (in level or aesthetic). Ability to engage in a believable story with a believable background (such as sci-fi lore).

Having a world where clearly, the occupants age and the population increases, having ZERO children in it needs a damn good explanation.

Which, clearly, ZOS have never explained.

So yes. Having kids in ESO I would say matters. It matters a lot.

    Does that answer your question?

PS: In contrary: games of other genre such as FPS (Battlefield, or Counter-Strike) or RTS (Starcraft), or MOBA, does *NOT* require a level of immersiveness that allows the player to engage in a believable background. Hence you rarely see children in those games.
PPS: Except in one of the CoD where you massacred a whole airport, children and women alike. That's just *** up.

It would enhance the immersion to me personally, but we have enough idiots and trolls in the game already without "people" (and I use the term loosely) being given an opportunity to mess with kids.

    Know what, was thinking...

    Maybe I should've said yes.

Because they can place children all over the place and they report all the crimes to the guards. No way to eliminate them too!

Whole purpose of them is to run around and play with people sneaking around and trying to steal stuff!! THAN reporting those players to the guards!!

Unkillable children are definitely Daedras. We have them already as guards and cats, no need more :)

On the other hand, we don't need killable children also, because game already have overwhelming amount of violence :)

    Lets keep Tamriel child-free.

Why does so many people want killable children?
Anyway, it would be OK if then even your own turned against you and it resulted in a negative buff called 'child killer' on all characters which meant that anyone could freely kill you at any time.

Of course children should be in game. WoW managed it just fine so why shouldn't ESO? What with TES being a brand that prides itself on immersion and realism.
But that means children of ALL races. Which is of course loads of work and there are more important things to get down. Such as underwater stuff. homes and what not.

So a better question would be Should ESO have had Children. As it's a bit late now.

There are enough people with childish behavior in this game already, running around, jumping, dancing naked, screaming in zone chat, etc.

Although, thinking of it, ZOS could add a "Kool Kid" pet to the Crown Store so everybody wanting to have a child could buy one in the store B)

If by children you mean that in the possible house expansion you're allowed to adopt 2 like in Skyrim, then no. I had children in Skyrim, and although they were fun at first, they got tedious very quickly.

If the children are NPC's who are scattered among the adult population, then sure.

And to those who are asking ZOS to explain why there are no children in the game, it's cause nobody can remove their underwear.

The sad (actually 'disturbing' is the better word) thing is that there are people on the forums who have been asking for killable children since long before any other non-hostile NPCs could be attacked. I guess some people just have some kind of fetish for it.

The land is depressing and terrible enough. There needs to be at LEAST a few kids. There are quests with mothers asking you to find their kid and then you find him or her and they are grown adults who say dumb things like "oh my mother just treats me like a child blah blah." It would be much more exciting to Save a Real child from lava or bugs or whatever. Also, it's just weird without a single kid running around anywhere.

Well, I think the whole notion of "killable children" is right out in American video games for a number of reasons. But we can theorize, and I'd say if it were done, there should be some serious consequences for whacking a little one: first off, a title like, say, "Child Murderer" that can't be turned off or hidden for a long, long time. Secondly, the perpetrator should become attackable not only by the guards, but by other players, as well. Oh, and maybe also an automated zone-wide announcement whenever they show up anywhere.

    Posse LF1M...
