Console feature requests

I noticed a few items that I feel would improve the console release.

1) "Push to Talk" - With voice chat being the only current form of communication on the console release of ESO. I really feel there needs to be "push to talk" , open mics are an annoyance. Most people do not want to hear cross-talk, the music you are blasting, or whatever is going on in your household all the time. This will also help out with large voice chat group channels (raids/guilds) from becoming a mass cacophony of illeagable noise.

Suggestion - replace toggle view with push to talk
Make the new toggle view ... down + A on Xbone , down + X on PS4

2) Scalable UI - This is a feature in the PC version of ESO I would really like brought over to the console. IMHO the default console UI is too large as is.

3) @NewBlacksmurf UI requested setting:
-Don't show health, magic or stamina when using the option not to display unless taking damage (even when buffed)
For some reason, when buffed the bar or bars never go away....makes the setting pointless unless this is fixed

4) @bedlom I really want to be able to remove all glowing highlights in the game, this is my biggest annoyance so far.

Please feel free to add you comments/suggestions/requests.

Not joking, they are literally all locked, last I knew.

As for the other things you mentioned, I agree with both points. While not mandatory or anything, they both would be nifty.

    Hmmm push to talk:
-Are you suggesting that the consoles add this feature or that ZOS change the button layout to enable such a feature?
I don't want to give up any buttons so I'd like Xbox and Ps4 to offer hardware and software options for this in any game (other than the quick mute that Xbox One has already).

*The quick mute is pretty much the work around that only takes a milk second to turn off/on. Doesn't the PS4 have a mute/u mute button on the controller for any headset?

    Scalable UI:
-Yes, I like this but I just turned off as many UI elements as possible so that wasn't as much an issue

    My additional UI requested setting:
-Don't show health, magic or stamina when using the option not to display unless taking damage (even when buffed)
For some reason, when buffed the bar or bars never go away....makes the setting pointless unless this is fixed

Yes , this would require a layout change or a new 3rd layout

Push to talk is not a permanent mute, like those are. Push to talk means you hold a button down while you say all you want, then when you let it go it automatically puts it back to mute. Push to talk is MUCH better than a straight up mute button as those are.

That said, even if that could function as a push to talk button, even you must admit it's terribly placed. To press it you need to either take your left thumb off the left analog stick or your right thumb off the action buttons, both of which are suicidal for your character in games.

Nope PS4 is open mic all the time with the earpiece/mic that comes with the PS4 , some aftermarket headset have them but they are either along the cord or on the headset, requiring you to find them & switch the mic on or off. Which is a hassle in its self so most leave the mic on.

Yikes..... Well, I guess Xbox One's Mute button is better than forver-on voice. I feel sorry for PS4 players planning to play ESO now, and having a push to talk or at the very least a mute button on PS4 would be pretty much needed I'd think.

I have it on PC with my WoW headset and the foot peddle. Vent allows it too but on console you'd have to have the hardware adapter so for example the mute button could have a software update on Xbox One to function as push to talk.

But wondering if PS4 has such a button on their hardware now?

@Mirra_Halfelven Just said they don't, apart from some third party ones that are on the headset itself, not even close to the controller.

Soooo now I see why you all prefer text chat.
The PS4 from PM's during beta has some obvious opportunities around in game voice chat, party chat, mic features and software updates. There are issues where your party chat turns off in game things and vice versa.....

Hell ... I would be happy with an aftermarket button that clips on the controler that you plug your headset into for push to talk, like the Xbone, but we PS4 users dont have that option.

It's mute. You need to press it, then talk, then press it again. That would be the equal of a push to talk action using XB1's headset adapter. Still loads better than the zero option on PS4 though. Really, I agree with @NewBlacksmurf too, this explains why PS4 people were more crazy about needing text chat than XB1 players were.

Yeah...cycle quests has to stay on something tho. All the ppl who complained about the map icons was due to not using the cycle quest feature.

Agree a scalable UI would be great! It's far too big for me personally.

I really think our character names should be visible and not our console names.

It would be awesome if these minor some optional changes make it into launch, I'll just have to wait and see.

No the problem with the map icon was the black arrows were not showing up on the compass like they do on PC. Cycling quests would only help if you knew you were near the quest. Otherwise you would constantly be flicking through your quests. A compass that only shows your current quest in a game like ESO is really limiting on quality of gaming.

What I would like is for the synergy activation to be changed to just pressing the interact button (X on PS4) when you can use it rather than having to press two keys on the same side of the controller which given how short a time you get to use synergies is really a bad layout imo.

Ill buy wireless keyboard when I transfer to console.

What I suggested earlier was note system. People could write notes. They could add ink and quill to the game without them you cant write or copy notes. Notes what players could write, share, trade or sell, just like Trial tactics, you dont need to repeat it every time or even PVP tactics, or daily dungeon tactics, basically nothing changes but intead of typing people use notes.

Wait...can't you turn off proximity voice chat in console? I thought this was a mandatory default setting.

+1 for text chat on console. :) had to....

If we can't turnoff voice, I'll be adding a lot of people to ignore...which I assume doesn't allow them to talk.

What is autorun? If you mean something that distinguishes between run and walk, console users don't really need that (since analog sticks allow them gradations of speed already).

press the center of touch pad to open the map, they didn't bother with any of the swipe directions or corner presses for different functions. swiping the touch pad in a direction while the map is open slides the map up, down, left, right.
