I love that you are doing this! Can we please talk about housing? I'm going to copy paste something I wrote back in January 2014 that is still applicable today:

I am really loving this game. I've been a fan of TES since Morrowind, and I think the overall mesh of MMO & TES into ESO has gone pretty well. I think the lack of player housing is my biggest problem w/this game, and why it feels not as TESy as it should to me. One of my favorite things to do in Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim is to either purchase my own home, or build my own and decorate. I love having a library, garden, and my own workshop where I can craft.

I think the easiest (though maybe not best) thing that could be done would be to have a home that is instanced, like what EQ2 did years ago. I would be so happy if you received a rested bonus when you logged out there. I want to use woodworking to build furniture, blacksmithing could help too (like in Skyrim to make hinges, locks, etc). I can finally store all my provisioning mats in my kitchen and cook. I also want to display special weapons, armor, trophies, etc that I've fought for and/or crafted, and invite my friends and guildies over to see. This can also be applied to guild halls (instanced) so we can all meet together, decorate, trade, plan battles and have fun :)

For both player and guild homes, I suggest upgrades for the home itself- cosmetic like painting, and functional like additions; as well as purchasable occupants like a chef, alchemist, enchanter, bard, etc. I think this would so much fun for end game content too. For instance, you could unlock new content by defeating bosses in raids and super duper special content for having world firsts. You could then display these rewards in your guild armory or player home. You could even have achievements associated with building, furnishing, and decorating your own home and guild achievements too :D

I would literally pay money to be able to either dps in heavy armor (remove protection advantage, I don't care) or make my own costume of sorts so I appear in heavy armor. I've always loved the Elder Scrolls armor aesthetic and always played a heavy armored dps. Unfortunately the balancing required in am MMO really limits you to function over form.

I'd even just love some more medium armor that isn't leathery, kind of like the mail in the Nord set. I know that it's made through clothing and with scraps of leather but I want to be head to toe in metal when I'm swinging my greatsword, I don't want to be forced into leather. Side note: Some of the medium armor (light) in previous games looked either metallic or just plain brutal without being leather with small plates, Elven and Glass I'm looking in your direction!

I know this is far from a priority but I would almost kill to feel like a real Knight again in PvE without having to be a tank! :)

Housing. I know you're worried about scaling problems due to massive amount of custom objects on the scene. But there is a solution - make each house cost 1,000,000 gold and that will keep the number down. ;)

    Portable Campsite

    portable%20campsite.jpg

It would add much to immersion! Being able to camp when the night comes, not in cities of course, but in the wilderness we have plenty of non mob zones good for this feature. A little portable tent with some storage capability. We could even have campfires to cook in them to add rp experience to the fact of adventuring for long periods of time : )

    +1 to:

    -Player and Guild Housing.
-Underwater delves, chests, mobs/creatures and exploration (let me add some argonian underwater villages).
    -Barber shop
-One handed staff aka short staves.
    -Jewel crafting.
    -Cloaks.

    I love this idea !
What if when you set up your camp your character became a store much like the guild store NPCs and you could sell directly from your inventory ?

Here is my wish for new features,

    1) How about NO LAG on cyrodiil?
    2) NO LAG on Cyrodiil
    3) FIx the LAG issues on Cyrodiil
    4) Fix Radiant Destruction - For any class to do the damage that this does you really need to work hard at getting the Right armour and setup and even then you dont come close. Oh and then anyone can dodgeroll out of any skill except radiant destruction.
    5) did i mention fixing the lagggggggggg in Cyrodiil.

Maybe focus on getting what you have streamline and prefect before looking at NEW Stuff.

LAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGG is a major issue in cyrodiil actually everywhere, i have 3k lag in glenumbra 3 days back.

PLEASE please Please PLease PLEase PLEAse PLEASe PLEASE fix the LAAAAAGGGGGGGGG!!!!

    1. Cyrodill command tools
    2. More secondary objectives to fight for in Cyrodiil
    3. Keeps much harder to conquer, it shouldn't be possible to take a keep with 10 people.
    4. Polearms & Crossbows
    5. Reworked grouping tool
    6. Cross-faction accesible dungeons
    6. Cross faction accesible areas after 50+ (without World PVP)
    7. Jewelry craft
    8. More auto-scaling, instanced places, like Public dungeons that allow you to enter a separate instance that scales, if you wish. That would allow people to revisit places they just skimmed through.
    9. Duels. Please, allow duels, default OFF, not allowed inside city limits.

    Dear Zos,

Would it possible to make it so when you are selecting morphs (for instance, after you did a respec of morphs) that your choices would display what you had already leveled the various morphs to?

Currently if you respec/reset your morphs it will only show "optionA" I or "optionB" I. I would much prefer it display what the morphed ranks were currently leveled to as in "optionA" IV or "optionB" I.

Probably a change in policy from the higher ups. I'm sure that they don't set the policies, so they can't really answer that. Especially in a thread about the 'armchair developer'.

Nothing new, just to agree with a lot of what is being said:

    - Player and Guild Housing
    - Crossbows
    - Dye Weapons and Shields
    - Different weapon for Magicka based other than Staff
    - Small scale PvP (like Arenas, Battlegrounds or Colisium)
    - Jewelcrafting
    - Poison crafting
    - Weapon and armor preview
    - Dummy target

By the way, AWSOME new section of ESO Live!

    Hiya,

I have a couple of ideas that would be nice to have considered

    1) Guild bank / stores
Make the search feature a bit better - allow to search for certain items. such as set/un-researched traits etc. Also allow a search to be for level 40-VR3 rather than having to do a search for say 40-50 and VR1-3. Some items show as level 50 but in reality there isn't a level 50 and when you hit VR1 you want to be able to find items from say 48-VR1

    2) Crafting -
Allow players to research a "found" set item and then be able to create it- might take double the time or cost or need to be a certain quality level (or all of the above) but is really quite poor that certain set items only come with specific traits and at certain levels.

Cheers - and keep up the good work !

the current system of claiming keep/resource by guild will remains:
    - we know 60% of that guild even didnt have any items in their store
    - 50% ppl didnt know they can see the guildstore in the keep
    - 90% of all resources of the keep unclaimed now, because its almost useles to claim them

so here is a simple solution
just add a NPC to each gate

if you speak with 1st NPC - you will be able to see all guildstores of all guilds which currently own keeps of your alliance(from 0 to 18), the same way as with your own 5 guild and the banker(switch system between them)

if you will speak with 2nd NPC - you will see all stores of guild who claiming resources and outpost of your color

    - will increase popularity of the cyrodiil guild traders alot(not need to port out of Cyro to buy smthing important for PVP now)
    - now you just need to port in one place and buy whatever you need without porting like a crazy
    - guilds will actually fight for each resource, because now they can boost their sales with them alot more than before
    - resolving a problem when there is too many guild and not evrey1 can hire a good guild trader in PVE zones
    - and as a result will up economy abit(more sales and purchases in total in Tamriel)

I really enjoyed the segment. I have mixed feelings about how it was presented. Like, they didn't seem to even be aware that many of us on the forums have discussed how some of the mechanics of underwater combat could work and many people on the forums have said underwater combat isn't necessary.

They also don't seem to really "get" what people love about The Elder Scrolls. It's not all combat. Many of us don't want to JUST kill stuff. The story isn't there to present me with a reason to go kill stuff. The environment isn't just where I kill stuff. Skill-lines and activities don't have to just be used to make things that help me go out and kill more stuff.

The ability to explore, discover and experience underwater environments would be more than enough for most of us. Underwater combat would be nice, but it's not a must.

Try adding a bit more fluff to being a vampire... like having at least one NPC recognising your existence as such. Throughout the whole Rivenspire questline you get treated as a mortal even though you are a vamp... it basically ruined the story for me there. Even an NPC combat line like "kill it with fire!" or "burn the vampire!" like in the main series ES games would be better than nothing.

What would also be great is if you can make it part of the justice system, resulting in a bounty if you are stage 4 in large cities (or using vampire abilities) and therefore giving you a reason to implement the feeding mechanic once in a while. Same should go for being in werewolf form in large cities. Finally, you could maybe try adding a creatures of the night-related DLC similar to the Dawnguard expansion, which will include new vampire/WW related content (including perhaps vampire-hunter bounty quests for killing player vamps! >:) ).

New zones for these DLCs need not necessarily be added, some incentive should perhaps be added in future DLCs to re-explore the under-utilised middle zones, Areas like Tier 3 and Tier 4 zones as well as the V1-V9 Cadwell zones which, after completing the all the quests and objectives there, I hardly feel the need to ever go to anymore. Many of the zones were beautifully designed and I would like to re-explore them under a different context. These zones do not give much XP for killing mobs, so grinding CP in them as an incentive to re-explore them is also not very efficient. You could argue that I can just walk through them if I want to see them again, but hey, where's the fun in that? I like to explore while doing something meaningful with my character

    Thanks for reading my suggestion!

    FIX CYRODIIL LAG PLEASE

    my own armchair QB comment
  • Kupoking
    Kupoking
    ✭✭✭✭✭
But there again here's some real suggestions (most of it to make Cyrodiil a more complete zone and alive)

    -Oblivion-Like portals like in ES4

-Explorable Cloud Ruler Temple (dungeon / quest or w/e)

    -Explorable Bravil City.

-Open Western Cyrodiil (SKingrad, Kvatch, Anvil)

-Make those new cities in Cyrodiil more alive than other Town in Cyrodiil with mage/fighters guilds present Justice System components, Crafting/Banking/Guild vendors but with an AvA component added to it like : Faction taking control of the city through questing/good reputation from local Lord/Population or Politics and taking control of local guards (could be done in a different zones like delves or even instanced or something to reduce lag or server problems in main Cyrodiil).

-Arenas or a way to create 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 etc matches happen away from interferences in AvA battles in Cyrodiil.

-Random Big-a$$ boss spawn in Cyrodiil that is broadcasted in the zone and marked on the map that would give buffs for a certain time and scoring advantages for the Factions that gets killing blow or deals most damage to it.

-Random Gm generated events in PvE zones like e.g. zombie invasion from sewers at Stormhaven or Maormer Attack at Docks in Vulkel Guard

-Housing or Guild Housing. Have a private meet place with access to crafting, guild vendor, bank, etc. Make it customizable according to achievements or something like colors, Heads of different trial bosses hanging from walls

-Guild AP generation system in Cyrodiil. Make Guild AP used for additionnal upgrated to claimed keeps, Guild leaderboard for example. Make Guild AP generate from How long Keeps/Ressources are held by a guild, % of member's generated AP.

-Review Guild keep claiming system. Make it more valuable (like upgrades available) in order to remove troll guild keep taking.

-Guild Alliance system, just like DAoC, where multiple guild may regroup themselves in a chat for coordination.

-Remove Cross-faction ways of communicating in PvP slowly and gradually, starting with Cross-Faction Wispers in PvP zones, hiding cross factions chat in guilds for members in different factions but in the same campain. Should be done once there is an alternative for duelers (although i'm against duelling in this game for balance issues)

-Review functions of Keep Ressources. Add ressource Caravan that physically brings components to the Keep like wall repair kits from the mine for example. Losing the mine might make the quartermaster unable to sell those once out of stock. Introduce AP generation for killing/destroying a caravan or def ticks around them for defending it. Make Guild who own ressources spent gold or AP to hire guards to defend caravans.

-More parkout/traps/enigmas/puzzles in most endgame delves. Make them harder and meaningful. A trap that once-shots me or make me fall though a portal and be attacked by 100 skeletons then port back at beginning if I manage to survive. ES3 type of puzzles that are not child-easy (its a pegi 18 game after all)

-Revamp Adventure zones. Harder/More challenging Delves/Mobs hubs that rewards with better xp/loot but be hard enough to actually feel life threatening on every pull. Make it HARD to farm exp there but rewarding. In other terms, instead of lowering exp gains, increase difficulty significantly. E.g. Tower farm in Craglorn. Make the tower instanced for 4 members. Make bosses significantly harder (like Last bosses of vet CoA and CoH) Make them generage good amounts of exp that scales UP the less grp members are present.

You mean there's not a "enable underwater" button on the Game engine? Say it isn't so! :unamused:

Most of us know these things take time, effort, patience, knowledge, and skill to develop. Doesn't mean we're ok with the response "But.... that's going to be a lot of work." In response to requests for features.

I hope in the next segment they read what players have suggested before they have their brainstorming session. That way they could directly address the concerns and requests from the community.

I think a lot of players would really appreciate an in-depth discussion about the state of PvP.
Not the future of PvP but rather why it is the way it is.
What are the problems you are currently facing?
What clues have you found to the issue of lag?
    What dead-end solutions were attempted?
What solutions are currently being attempted?

Seriously, your player base is aware of the issues, they are aware that your advertised promises are not exactly coming to fruition, they realize it is not an easy fix.

    PLEASE discuss this in detail.
The companies in the B2P/F2P market that actually make money are the ones that are *cautiously* transparent with their customer base.
I do hate to compare companies but the lack of legitimate tranparancy really rubs me the wrong way, so I am willingly going to be a hypocrit in the following paragraph.
RITO makes MILLIONS every year and they have the balls to tell their player base when they mess up, where they are in terms of possible solutions and how it will both positively and negatively effect the game. Also they learned one particular lesson really hard; NEVER make promises.

Information is the name of the game in this day and age, the more we have from you the more trust we give to you (and money).
