PC/PS4 Account xfer later on?

I've read a ton of threads about the PC to console transfer, and it's just confusing from all the different posts. I understand the ability to transfer the PC account to a console ended a couple days ago, but I still have some questions...

I'm a beta tester and pre-ordered the physical Imperial Edition for PC, but I think I was never qualified for the transfer because I didn't activate my copy until a couple months after launch; at the time it was still pay-to-play, and I didn't want to waste 30 free days of game time because I didn't have time to really play at launch. So, to my understanding, it doesn't matter when you purchased the game, what matters is when you activated your game code, correct?

If that's true, it sucks for me for being stupid I guess because I've owned the game since day one - I just couldn't activate it - but I'll deal with it.

Moving on...

I don't have a problem buying a separate copy of the game for my PS4 - in fact, I still have it pre-ordered - but would I still be able to eventually do some sort of transfer or merge with my accounts? I know PS4 and PC toons can't play together on the same server, but is it possible to platform hop? That is, could I play my characters on my PC account one day, then decide to play my PS4 - using the same account, and leveling the same characters - the next day, but it would be logged in with other console users instead of the PC?

The key to this would be which device (PC or console) you're accessing your account from. So a different device means a different megaserver, but all from the same account.

Will that be possible at all in the future? Or is it currently available upon launch? It would be wonderful to be able to choose which platform I want to play my toons on whenever I want.

Hey there,

Currently, we do not have plans to offer a megaserver transfer outside of the offer that you have mentioned. If that changes, we'll be sure to keep everyone updated.

The megaservers for the PS4, Xbox One and PC/Mac are separate, so even with the transfer offer characters will progress separately. While the accounts are linked, they are technically two separate accounts, so your characters will remain specific to the server that they are on. In short, it will not be possible to play on the PS4, then log in to the PC and use that same character.

@ZOS_GaryA Gary, my man! Answer me this, if you will, suppose I bought an Xbox transfer and I use Xbox for a while happily playing the game and then Microsoft updates their terms and conditions and I decide to sell my Xbox and buy a PS4. It would be really nice to do a paid transfer, even if you had to put a 48h lag time on it or something. I'm not sure what your console contracts look like but I imagine you have access to the character databases and the rights to modify them as necessary.

I'm not saying copy, rather transfer. Now I'm not planning on this happening but any number of events could occur that result is the loss or discontiued use of a console and purchase of a different console or decision to use a different access style.

Currently we don't have any plans to offer transfers of any kind, even in this particular circumstance. That said, we're always open to feedback, and this is something that we've heard a lot about, so thanks for bringing up another use-case

@ZOS_GaryA and or any mod/ admin i have bought the Imperial edition on PC and acct activated so it seemed i was able to do the acct copy but one reason or another i missed out on it do to the time limit with whatever was going on in my life in said time frame, Im willing to start new toons and by the game for console(ps4). In the end is this is there any way to get the content playable on console w/o next to buying/ trying to buy the Imp edition again or is it pretty much SOL
