Dark Magic

Crystal Fragments (Crystal Shard morph): It is no longer possible for this ability’s damage bonus to proc multiple times in a row and stack.

So i guess its perfectly acceptable to run around Cyrodiil with broken/OP Nirnhoned reducing all magic damage by one half rendering over half the games builds and classes ineffective, yet nerfing a Sorc's frag proc stack that is RNG based nonetheless is more important. :(

Well magic based Nightblades, DragonKnights, Templars, and Sorc's more of the same i suppose...

Yes i know its counterable, but you must invest and give up far more then it costs the person to simply put on a piece of armor. That's simply not balanced.

    The problem is Nirnhoned, it would take them NO TIME at all to make Nirnhoned like Reinforced but increase the Value say 10%...it would still be good, it just wouldn't be able to nerf all magic builds in the game.

    this isn't about just Sorcs, ALL MAGIC BUILDS IN THE GAME ARE BEING MIFFED BECAUSE OF NIRNHONED

    if they can fix Frag Proc(which im glad they did) they could adjust Nirnhoned to work like Reinforced for Spell Resist and increasing its value by a fair measure to make it still good but not useless. The fact an RNG based mechanic is more important to fix then something like Nirnhoned is troubling to me. :(

    Two most important things I saw:

    Fixed an issue that would sometimes make white tiles appear on the Cyrodiil map.

    Enchanting
    Fixed an issue that was resulting in several jewelry enchantments scaling based on the jewelry piece’s quality level instead of the glyph quality and level. These enchantments now work off the quality of the glyph, as intended. This fix is retroactive. Affected enchantments include, but are not limited to:
    Bashing
    Potion Boost
    Potion Speed
    Reduce Feat Cost
    Reduce Spell Cost
    Shielding

    Will be interesting to see how all of the reduction enchants work now.

    Leaving a broken/unbalanced thing like nirnhoned for this long on live, is indeed stupendous ZOS. Makes me doubt their resolve for a balanced and fun cyrodiil.

    I dont think i could keep a straight face when writing a post about sorc nerfs. While I agree nirnhoned is broken, they need a way to buff magicka builds without helping out the sorcs as well. Get rid of nirnhoned and sorcs are still kings of pvp while us lowly templars/dk's lag behind.

    Yeah im interested in how these enchants will work now as well. If im reading this right, a Gold Enchant on a purple ring should have the gold enchants value, if that's the case, that will be huge!

    I agreed with them fixing the Crystal Frag Proc stack. I just couldn't believe they would fix something RNG based before fixing something like Nirnhoned.

    Honestly, with the way Nirnhoned is now, its either Go Stamina, or Go home....WW + Bosmer + Nightblade + CS = lots of stamina and regen, dodgeroll city while dressed in nirn, why would anyone play magicka?

    The Frags bug needed a fix, and I'm glad they got to it.

    As to NH, and anything else that requires more than three seconds of thought and eight minutes of coding... CONSOLES. The answer is CONSOLES. We'll likely wait until fall.

    Fixing the double proc is a good thing, maybe now all the stam users here will be forced to admit how awful magicka builds are now, instead of posting a screenshot of the one time they got hit by a 15k crystal frag and yelling "OMG NERF SORC".

    That's my thinking, too. Every once in a while, I'd launch a fairly ludicrous fragment. I wasn't necessarily fishing for one, but stuff happens. It frequently occurred to me how unfair that might look on someone's death recap.

    I'm glad to see it fixed.

    And they will insist that they don't like bandaids, the solution is very hard, and we won't see any fix about this for the next months.

    What people on the forums think and whine about and what is actually true are sometimes two very different things.

    What's funny is that in a vacuum, I'd say this was a good change.

    How it was working prior to 2.0.8 was not how any damage skill should be working.

    As it is, taking away burst in this game's current meta is good.

    Ruining it so that no magicka builds work against nirnhoned effectively is bad.

    Ultimately, little things like this need to not be done right now. ZOS needs to go into the game and do vast, overarching balance sweep to fix the messups they have from the 1.6 launch. The thing they DID NOT DO so they could lock the code for console.


    EDIT: What's also funny is how ZOS said no more balance passes until after console releases and here is a very, very major balance change.

    This really isn't even that big of a change honestly. You had a small RNG chance of getting a multi-proc on a single projectile that was probably going to be dodge-rolled, reflected, or blocked anyway. It'll just stop the whining about the rare huge number crystal frags that would occasionally show up.

    All of last year was the year of the staff wielding bathrobe wearers, this year is gonna be all about the leather chaps wearing Wrecking blow spammers.

    Hopefully next year it will be balanced and will update/nerf/fix in the favors of all classes.

    I highly doubt they have even that long until people are gone for good. 1.6/2.0 was supposed to be the big 'second chance' they were given and they fell on their faces.

    1) It's not a nerf of crystal fragment; I consider it as rather a bug fix.
    2) If Nirnhoned was nerf'd in the current state of game, magic damage would just be out of control.

    I personally don't expect any change to the nirn trait before the next patch that will address the game balance in general.

    Snipe (or stealth attacks in general) health desync. Death without showing you any animations...
    But better fix those fragment proccs fast.
