each faction has 3 "gates" that are one way funnels against another faction, EP has 3 that face DC, DC has 3 that face AD... but AD has very much 2 way "bridge" that can easily be exploited by any faction.
The gates.. These are clearly intended to limit travel from a certain faction, the faction that "owns" them has several ways through, and from the oppsite side there is only a narrow and easily defendable passage.
the bridges.. These are equally defensable from either direction unlike the Gates, can be bypassed entirely due to how bad of a deterrent the "slaughterfish" are.. Right now EP effectively has the ability to block off all 6 because the side that is inteded to block EP from easily entering AD works in reverse.
as a result, while DC and EP have specifically defensable choke points into their territory, AD is by comparison easily entered..
i argue that in the name of faction equality, the bridges be redesigned so they cannot be bypassed, and are directionally biased as the milegates are.
seemingly minor issue it seems, but this is flat out a design flaw that harms one specific faction, while directly granting an advantage to another.
Right now DC is the only faction that is equally vulnerable and defensable, as it is the only one bordered by mile gates on both sides.. stay classy DC
an example..
if EP decides to turtle up at one of their DC border milegates, they have the ability to 100% funnel any DC attempt into their territory into a easily controlled opening. if DC were to try and turtle up in the same way, they would have siginificatly less ability as EP could easily cross in the oppsite direction and any attempt by DC to hole up on the gate itself would leave them very open to enemy attacks.
however, if AD decides to turtle up on the bridge, EP can just cross the river, wipe the AD from behind and Turtle up on the bridge themselves, something AD can do in return equally as easily...
Simply put.. the bridges dont do their job as gates... and need a redesign to make them more onesided like the 6 gates.
i get how the gates and bridges were intended to be... Think about the Oroborus design of the ESO logo. Now reverse it and put it right over the Cyro map. The gates are like the "head" of each faction, a single enterance into death aimed at one faction... well currently EP has 2 heads and AD has 2 tails (or half tail/head as those bridges are).
far from the surely intended three way equality in terms of the borders...
I play every class in every situation. I love them all.
