Is this still on the table, or has it been permanently canceled? If so, why?

Thanks!

They've confirmed this in particular is on the back burner, but they've pretty much confirmed all new content is on the back burner. It sounds like they're devoting all of their resources to console release unfortunately. It's an awful decision, they either should have hired more resources, or planned a better deadline for themselves. Hopefully they learn from the experience and start making decisions that actually make sense.

As to your "why" - all you'll get from them is that they're working on console and how exciting it is. You won't actually get a legitimate answer, probably because they won't be able to provide a good one and it'd get flamed on the forums.

Lol this has been said multiple times but i can relay for ya.

Ok so all focus is on the console release and we are not to expect dlc right after ither.
Then the dlc will be worked on there is a large list and it seems these ideas can easily be cut as well if they cannot get it working the way they want.

    Dlc list after console release
    Imperial City
    Golden tower
    Wrothgar
The orc city forgot the name
    Spellcrafting
    Thieves guild
    Dark Brotherhood
    Removal of veteran levels
    Enforces phase 2 justice system
    And much much more

This is not in order or anything but you get the idea.

@Zheg I'm actually playing the xbox version myself, or will be soon enough, so I don't mind so much. Still though, transparency would be nice. I'm not sure why exactly they think being honest and forth coming about their decisions is such a horrible idea.

least there is a time table for new content, 1-2 months after console or how ever long it takes to stabalize.
last i heard about spell crafting it wasnt a priority still somthing theyd like to do one day, but not anytime soon.
basicly its not coming with imperial city so dont get hopes up for that lol.

that is essentially what they have said.

They have also said there will be no new content in general until after the console released is stable, which basically means no content until 2016, and then they HAVE To add the last two major guilds (thieves and DB) and the Imperial City since they promised those all the way back during beta.

No, what they were saying is deciding to focus 100% on console release and delaying all new content on PC until AFTERWARD is a horrible idea, not the fact that the devs were telling us that was their plan.

That is just absurd. OF COURSE there will be content this year. Imagine how many customers they would lose on PC if they left us without content for almost a year, that is just bad business, and this is business after all.

I get pretty upset thinking about this. The fact that they don't SEEM to care is the worst part. Conpletely silent, and when a dev does post, its some advertisement for crown store items.

They're so certain that the console release will settle their sales deficit that they're willing to throw the pc version to the wolves. FORGETTING that the console players will have the exact same complaits the pc players have had for a year (lack of build freedom/balance, VR treadmill, performance, etc). If they dont start patching and overhauling the base parts of the game, the console version will suffer evem more.

But who cares after they soak up all that preorder money and the initial sales rush.

I'm perfectly okay with them focusing all resources on the console release, after all, this what will generate the most revenue for the game and ultimately propel it to success. However, I would appreciate it if they gave us an in-depth preview of what's to come afterwards. A lot of us are getting bored in the meantime.

    It's their decision to make.
As a PC player I for one wont be giving them any more money till they have something worth buying, and if it takes em a year by that stage there will be other games out that will get my money.

no wonder they got rid of the LOL button because this is a joke and a bad one @ that, not a penny till I see some content that I like ( and it will be the last game I will buy off this company I don't like been told one thing and then they do another )

The big problem here is, there was VERY little added content to begin with, even during the year it was P2P. They basically added Craglorn and that was pretty much it, and not many people even LIKE that content, a new game CANNOT go 2 years with little content, ESPECIALLY after we were ALREADY PROMISED to get two more guilds AND the IMPERIAL CITY at launch (which we still have not gotten), AND they made a show of going on about how they would have new content every month and a half or so (yeah, that was an impossibility, but they should not have been stupid enough to say that in the first place)

I wouldn't expect anything more in this game that Zenimax can't turn a quick buck on tbh. I hope I'm wrong but based on how Zenimax has been since release it's almost a "sure bet" that nothing like this will ever happen in this game.

They said everything is on the back burner so it's hard to tell what they plan on releasing first and what comes later. I know that on a AMA on Reddit around the time Update 6 hit someone did ask about Spellcrafting and they did say it was indeed still planned.

That being said Update 7 HAS to be huge because a lot of us have been waiting since November for some real content to hit. I know I am dreaming and it's still far away but it really needs to contain Imperial City, Wrothgar and maybe even Spellcrafting and/or TG and DB.

They don't really have a lot of customers left on the PC platform, so there's not that much to lose. Most players are not paying the subscription any longer, and even if they get some DLC out soon, a lot of people will probably have a stash of free crowns to spend, so the first DLC on the PC platform would not generate any useful amount of cash for them. ZOS know exactly how many customers they have, and how many crowns they have saved.

I think it might be a sound business decision to simply give up on the PC version and focus all their efforts on the consoles. It sucks big time for us PC/Mac players, but there may not be enough of us to really matter any more.

They drove the PC market away, basically ZEN took the PC players money to fund console development and screwed us on content, we got nothing in return. The PC player was lied to and our money diverted to console instead of content. ZEN is utter garbage and you can bet after console release they will not put anymore effort into content all the money will go to another upcoming game title.

You have been warned console players.

I'm not just a gamer. I'm a customer and from a customer's point of view, they look like they are trying to manage something bigger than them. Like they don't have enough workers to get the job done. They really need to change this impression ASAP with new systems + SPELLCRAFTING + Justice system's pvp side + Thieves and DB etc.

I also get this distinct feeling based upon my time following the game (since before PC launch) and playing (since console launch).

Perhaps when they get the console version on solid ground, it will get better, but ever since the console delay, I have had this same feeling you are describing.

Lack of serious discussion from the ZOS staff only adds to it.

Well the guy who came up with it and was the leading force behind the system now works on League of Legends if that tells you anything.
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.
