WILL THE PVP WE SAW AT E3 BE ADDED TO THE GAME?Published 06/11/2014We set this up specific for shows, such as E3, so we can get small groups working together for a quick PvP-style match.
While it’s a small taste of what our massive PvP is like in the live game, we thought it would be a fun way for folks to fight with / against each other with the limited amount of time they have at shows like this.
This mode isn’t in the live game, as it’s something we specifically setup for small, quick matches. However, ESO is a living, ever-evolving game, and if we see lots of requests for smaller style PvP combat, it could be something we add in a later update.

Yeah that's how it already is... You must be new here. Welcome to General Chat
I'll just put this here:WILL THE PVP WE SAW AT E3 BE ADDED TO THE GAME?Published 06/11/2014We set this up specific for shows, such as E3, so we can get small groups working together for a quick PvP-style match.

It's hard to quantify "lots of requests" but I can personally account for 12 people who requested it and have since unsubbed and totally written off ESO as the "Most Disappointing MMO of 2014". I had to search the internet to figure out what to call this behaviour by ZOS and came up with Chrometophobia, which is a debilitating fear of money.
When you get into a fight the PVP is fun, but these engagements are lacking and this is the reason WvW in Guild Wars 2 failed and no one plays it.
PVP and having fun in PVP relies heavily upon having / finding something to do in the vast open world and having many people online within that world to encounter which is not always going to be the case, if ever. For instance; your guild has to be online at the same time as you or you have to have a big enough group in order to go out and capture keeps, supply routes, etc and on top of this the enemy factions and guilds have to be on at the same time as you so you have people to battle to make this exciting and if not all you are doing is PVW (fighting walls and buildings.)
I don't want to have to organise a group in a forum or guild website then schedule with them when to log on and do PVP just to have fun in PVP. The same goes for enemies that have to do this. Do we have to coordinate with the enemy factions as well in order to have people to engage with online?
I simply want to log into the game jump into an Arena or a Battleground and have something to do, and have fun. I want to be able to have social engagements, rivalries, be able to recognize people I have fought before not recognize no one because I have found no one online to play with.
I don't know what the plans are for PVP if there are any, but something needs to be done as it doesn't seem like anyone is playing or enjoying PVP and I can't be the only one who thinks so. Cyrodiil should always be the main focus for PVP in the game but at least offer something to those who don't have the time to organize massive groups for large scale warfare, especially when you have life obligations to deal with and can't be always on at the same time as your friends or team.
I remember most if not all my arena or BG matches because it's where I enjoy myself the most. You still capture objectives, etc and you can remember the persons name you go up against that is constantly trying to thwart you. It's way more social. I don't remember anyone's name in this game. This is pretty much an anti-social mmo. I rather know people in game, make friends and enjoy 1000 BG's than have 1 open world fight every few hours or weeks where I remember no one and everyone is inconsequential. That's just me.
If you would have played GW2 and WOW, then you would realize your mistake here. Both games do not offer "casual" pvp, its all about forming exactly what you hate, a premade to even enter the pvp!
Get ready to prove your worth on target dummies in SW, to prove your worth by a rating. Get ready to be excluded from these premades if you don't have leet spec 1000 or if you don't want to use TS or Addons.
But exactly this is Cyrodil. Everyone can do it, every time of the day. What you want however, Arena & BG´s demands that you spend a lot of time in the game to organize groups or be a sheep and bow down to their leaders. The only Casual BG engagement that we had was in Vanilla WOW. But Since TBC that casual PVP is no longer and its all about forming a premade, same for the tournaments at GW2.

I am a PVP oriented person in every MMO I play as it's the main aspect of the game I focus on after reaching level cap and it's the most fun for me. And after seeing the PVP videos on YouTube and the combat system, it is what made me purchase the game but have come to realize that these videos are highly misleading as PVP engagements are few and far between and is simply PVE or as I like to call it PvW, (Player vs. Wall).
My experience with PVP thus far is this; ride around for and hour or so waiting for something to happen or to find someone to fight then you finally get into an engagement, they die or run away and then you ride around for another hour and rinse and repeat.
When you get into a fight the PVP is fun, but these engagements are lacking and this is the reason WvW in Guild Wars 2 failed and no one plays it.

It's never the case that big groups from each faction is on at the same time so PVP simply revolves around you and your group capturing a keep, logging off then the enemy factions retaking that keep a few hours later while you are sleeping or out at work or elsewhere, and so on and so on and having neither faction on to engage one another. To me that is boring and again, simply PVE which we get enough of in the main game.

This is where Guild Wars 2 World v World failed and this is turning out to be the same as no one wants to run around for hours looking for something to do and having to rely on having a group around to have fun. or at least I don't. Because of course you can't capture a keep by yourself, you can hardly fight one NPC by yourself. So this is extremely restrictive. This is where PVP turns into PVE or PVW as you have nothing to do but quests and fight NPCs and doors and gates.

With structured PVP you can simply find people to engage with, whether it's 2v2, 3v3, 10v10, 20v20 or otherwise. It groups you up and gives you an objective and you go and complete the objective and have fun. This is not the case in the open world PVP you get in Cyrodiil which is a shame as i don't want to see it go the way of GW2. However; SPVP is doing great in GW2 or WoW (even though I hate WoW) and that is where I have to go to get my pvp fix when I am not playing ESO.

Group up the people who are on and have at it. And if you are worried about people no longer doing open world PVP then offer them less rewards or more incentives for playing in Cyrodiil but have the options for people that need instant gratification, not gratification 2 hours in between. It's a lonely place in Cyrodiil.
It's an incredibly fun game in PvP when you *actually PvP*. It's all I really want, and the reason I've spent most of my free time the last year to get to vr14.
