Since many people asking for a housing system.. wouldn't it be great if we could marry a npc? True we have ring of mara, but that is mostly about exp bonus, and not much of immersion

Since this is a part of some of the previous TES games (marrying NPCs) yeah I think it would be neat if they'd include it. Also, the ability to adopt children as in Skyrim. But... don't hold your breath.

But those were single player games. How would this even work in a mmo? Tamriel: the land of polygamy??

Why would it necessarily entail polygamy? Ever play SWTOR? Everyone has the same companions and you can even be romantically involved with some of them. I've yet to see someone run up to another character with the same companion as them and yell, "What do you think you're doing with MY man????" Though, gotta admit, that would be pretty funny. ;) But really, it's no different than the silliness of EVERYONE being the Vestige, the one true hero that saves Tamriel and defeats Molag Bal.

I'm vehemently against marrying an NPC. My honeymoon with a certain high elf ended with a sacrificial dagger in my chest and my soul being condemned to Coldharbour. You never know who might become a tormenting, abusive mass murderer of man, mer, and mudcrabs.

Nah, everyone would just have to buy their own bride in cash shop. There could be several different models.

This has only been in ES games since Skyrim in fact.

I'm not quite sure how it would be made to work, since there are only so many NPC's in game. Loads that there may be, they would likely run out pretty fast. And before you know it, NPC's are married over and over and we have the last days of Rome.

Imagine how much time people would spend if they were provided the character generator to create their spouse after they bought them in the cash shop.

It would be great to be given full character creation for your spouse, rather than from an NPC.
You could then pick a personality set and that would decide dialogue.

I'm not sure I would use the system, unless there was a shop or other benefits like Skyrim, but it would certainly be a good option for those interested.

basically you will get a "clone" of that npc in your house.. and he/she will have something additional to say. runs a little shop for you, and perhaps occasionally cook meal / craft a weapon/armor for you~~

I have a concept I haven't posted regarding this concept where your house has 'slots' for NPCs and pets. NPCs could be given jobs so that they could autocraft items for you while you're away... among other things. I figured getting the house should be first priority.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

As much as I enjoy character creation, I would definitely love the opportunity to create a customized house and NPCs. Adding on to my previous suggestions with your spouse it would be pretty great to be able to "hire" and then create your own chef, smith, clothier, etc.

    Exactly. Have a whole "family".

2000 Crowns per character slot.

I would be fine with it if it required a subscription.
If it required the crown store I wouldn't bother, unless they provided at least 3-4 slots to start with.
That would be enough for a spouse, and 2-3 extras. Anything else could be done via the store.
As long as nothing were to be offered that you can't do yourself, I would be fine with this.
Any hired craftsmen would merely be a convenience. Nothing more.

    Works for me.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

It's as much immersion as you want it to be. There are plenty of RPers out there that actually use it as quite a bit of immersion. Just because it isn't your preference does not mean it is completely not immersive.

no i mean, you don't actually go to the temple of mara like in skyrim.. nor is there any ceremony.. sure you could roleplay without anything, but there aren't much immersion by design. or you believe the fact that one person can be marry multiple time is very immersive?
