ESO+ idea

personally im not complaining. but ive seen a lot of people say eso+ aint worth it (atleast at the moment) which got me thinking. Would it be a good idea/make it more worth it IF, when on eso+ you passively earned cp. at the rate of 1 cp per 48 hours, does not effect your bar or enlightenment only the actual rank number. kinda like eve online where sometimes people keep their sub going just to continue their skill que. yay nay?

So you think half a cp per week would make the difference between pay to win and not pay to win?

I personally don't think it is necessary to increase the cp gain from eso+. A change I would support is if eso+ members would have priority when there are queues to enter Cyrodiil.

One early MMOG (though the player number is mostly down to a one-digit number these days) I log in every other month has something called a "library". While you could log out everywhere in the world, logging out in the library will grant you experience. I really like this idea, as casual players will still progress (though slower than regular players). So I'd say a CP every other day (in case you didn't gain a CP in the past two days) would be a nice ESO+ idea. And that's not a pay2win-offering, as you will receive the CP only when you didn't gain a CP during normal gaming.

I would like for ESO+ members to have the perk of, say, two extra character slots.

I think that would be a bit predatory. Extra % toward Cp gain sure, but not straight up cps.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

At 1 cp per two days, I don't think you can call it pay to win, given it would take just under 20 years to cap the CP.

I could get behind this i would say you should make a poll regarding this with different cp options would be very good to see the numbers.

In games like LOTRO and SWTOR being a subbed player gives extra character slots, extra bag space etc.

I really can't see why that wasn't done as a default position for ESO:TU.

I'm a gamer who never plays mmo's with a monthly fee. The LOTRO bonus perks are a real turnoff for me and I would leave this game if this, or something simular was introduced.

I know people will now instantly assume that I'm a cheapskin that wants everything for free. But wait and hear me out.
I don't have a stable income. Sometimes I make a lot of money (and have limited time to play) and sometimes I make not so much money (and got loads of times to play). Overall, I'm spending more on games then I would with a monthly fee (for example, I started ESO at TU-launch and have since spent 50 euro on crowns). Even when there is nothing I really want to have, I still buy crowns just to show my appreciation.

I agree that there isn't enough insentive to have ESO+ at the moment, but I also believe there should not be perks that are exclusive to ESO+players (and unavailable for others to buy/unlock). I also think that everything should be unlocked permanently.

The perfect system in my opinion would be where you would gain currency (crowns) for ESO plus, that you can use to (permantly) unlock all content. Important here is that you know the prizes (in rough lines) of future content. E.g.
    New zone: 5000 crowns
    New expansion: 10000 crowns

This would mean that ESO+players would loose the other benefits, but gain more crowns/month (I think 2100 is sensible for the current price, cause it is a sub, which means you are loyal players). You can either save it al up to permanently unlock future content or spent it all now. You can use it to buy a one month booster for e.g. 400 gems that equals the current booster, but that is totally up to you. The OP's thought could be a simular booster.

Just my two cents on the subject

Through me you pass into eternal pain:
Through me among the people lost for aye.

I am eso+ and so far I feel my sub is ok, other than the store my game play has not changed, the true test for me will be when they start to release dlc's to se how that really works.

Tinkering with benefits for paid membership vs free membership in a B2P title is like walking a very thin rope, stretched across two very tall buildings.

If the game was fully free to play, without the need to actually purchase the game before hand, there would be a lot more give in the system, but even then, anything even remotely appearing like a pay2win mechanic would generate instant hate.

With B2P systems you are more or less restricted to things like:

    - cosmetic account unlocks (be it dyes, mounts, costumes, pets, etc)
    - paid expansions
    - convenience items (food / drinks / healing items / repairs, etc)
    - account maintenance items (name, race, faction, etc change items)
    - Adding character slots, inventory / bank size increases

    and not a lot else.

When you're playing in a B2P ecosystem, you are basically buying access to the game with the understanding that everything within the game world is included, but any large scale future content will come at an additional cost.

Between releases of major content, the game company will help bolster themselves by offering what we basically have now. Cash shops with cosmetic and small convenience items that don't alter the balance of power in the game at all, coupled with subscription bonuses that allow players to freely purchase some of these items each month in return for their sub fees.

Adding anything to the subscription benefits or the cash shop needs to be evaluated extremely carefully lest you alienate large portions of your playerbase, which is exactly the situation you are trying to avoid since it's most likely the exact issue that forced you to go B2P in the first place.

10% buff to exp goes towards CP, too.
  • wesly.backersb16_ESO
    ESO+ should be:

    - 10 % more exp (with possibity to disabling)
    - extra character slots
    - extra bag and bankspace
    - DLC
    - 10 % discount on Crown-store items
    - Free (cosmetic) items in a while.

    nothing more, nothing less

I'm enough of a role player to have two subbed accounts.

this would be a bad idea, because then I would be able to justify yet another account.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. NO. If you choose to buy crowns monthly with a sub that is your choice. You already get 10% more xp and gold then those without interest of those crowns. Why should you get cp's aswell? Excuse me, but its a hideous idea.

It all started with the first account (back when it was sub only).

My husband started first (I was heavy into painful grad school). I wanted to play "with" him, so when I got a sub, he needed a new one because every time I rolled up a character I wanted him to play "with" me. So that grew. And then I got interested in other classes (my first .... counting deleted characters... probably my first dozen characters were all Sorc's since I loooovve familiars).

So eventually I got a second sub to try out other characters/builds on. And I hate deleting characters (the ones I did delete - I mostly still have screenshots and personal history writeups in case I want to recreate them).

But eight has been the limit.

With ten .... ah that would become sooooo tempting. I could re-create all those guys/gals I deleted. I could "round out the family trees". I could try a few more characters as different classes (worked really hard to re-create a character that I have as a sorc, when I decided she would rather be a NB - and I still haven't deleted the original, so she exists in "two incarnations"). Heck it's a dragonbreak, after all.

Your the first one i have met that does this and im sure there are more people like this out there.
You did give me an idea for eso one that roleplayers should have.

Ok stay with me on this
But wouldn't it be great if like swtor you could set up a family tree of sorts and their relationship to that character.
So you could set relationships between your characters then it could be taken further.
By this i mean if said person agreed to your relationship say husband for this bit.
Well then you could set up a family emblem that can be attached to your armors shoulder and mount.
Now we know this is easily done as alot of games like cod do this and its called tagging.
So your tabard displays your guild but no matter where they are or what side they may call home they wear the family emblem with honor.
Later this is taken further with the idea of player housing but do you see my point if someone is willing to set this up as a poll and explain it better id love to vote.

And just for laughs and ps this not having the mobile version of the forums anymore is doing my head in cant see my dang posts.
