With how limited character slots are I personally would rather see each class get more unique rather than have to delete some characters for more classes. That and having balance between the existing 4 is challenging enough as is without more added.

well, we need something with an ice-based line of abilties, maybe with some sort of shamanistic or druidic feel or something.

No No No No.. and No

They should add new skill lines and not new classes. I wanna continue on progressing on my Character, I don't want to feel like I need to lvl up a new to take part of a new update.

While I really like the idea of new classes to refresh the game..I won't be excited considering the amount of bugs for the classes that we have right now.

But I do want to see more weapons and ofc new skill lines that come with it.

Stamina Class with Magicka Morphs pls.

Seriously though I think I'd rather see new skill lines. I've seen some good suggestions for those, but not very many good suggestions for classes.

I voted yes, but if they do, I'd like them to add more character slots with it because I'm decked out with 8 chars that I want to play and I don't want to delete any of them in order to have a char that would be from the new class. :/

Classes, more skill lines, or class morph specialization -- some combination is needed.

I've seen plenty of good ideas from some of you folks on this forum. To mention a few things:
    • Bard World skill line focused on enhancing morale, maybe even passives to allow playing instruments (like Persuation unlocks the dialogue)
    • NB can specialize ("class morph") into Illusionist, Assassin, etc., likewise for all classes, so that players get better at one type of thing but less effective at others (make us all a bit more unique)
    • Necromancer class or Necromancy skill line (every other 10 feet in the game is another necromancer.. why can't players be one?)
    • I really wish there were normal warrior, archer classes - mage with armor / sword / bow doesn't cut it.. I don't understand why there isn't just a class focused on normal melee and why basically everyone is a mage.

Hunter, Wood Scout, Idc what they call it, but give me an archer class vs just throwing in bow use with classes that make no sense to do so
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

I'm all for more skill lines, but I think classes should be kept to a minimum. But I can see maybe adding one or two to the list.

I'd like to see a new skill line for each class. Ideally, there are 2 new skill lines for the class but you can only choose 1 of them, unlocked and leveled through the main quest line of a new adventure zone. Maybe you can unlock the second line later after maxxing the first and completing certain challenges.

    I'd prefer new skill lines.

I think it'd be easier to implement than a whole new class.

How about fix the bugs and make the game harder instead of making it easier for the people who have no idea how to play these type of games.

This. I definitely like the idea of a Bard class, or world skill line...

They could have a support skill tree, with skills that would maybe put enemies asleep with soothing music, or heal a friendly with the same music playing.

Possibly a tank skill tree with skills that improve your armor and spell resistance when drinking a flagon of mead. lol

Instead of new class, just add "Sub-class" to further enhance what a class can do.

For example, the Mage can now branch out to other element beside LIGHTNING BOLT or be an actual summoner or an illusionist.

Templar can become a paladin fighter with super tanking ability or a cleric with superior support ability.

I think 4 classes are fine and easier to balance in theory. As of right now, there are only 4 distinct sets of skills that can be independently used. Choosing one of the four classes locks out 3 skill sets basically. All the other trees are open to all. Over time if more of these "all access" trees are added, the classes will blend together so that they all feel the same.

I'd prefer they add more skill trees within classes and open up their design box a bit and get interesting. I had high hopes that spellcrafting would add some diversity, but that's unfortunately cancelled. I'd like to see at least one stamina based tree added to each class for a start. In addition, expanding the current weapon trees with more abilities could help fill some gaps. I was also disappointed that the champion system didn't add any new active abilities, but they may choose to add them later in some way.

I guess my point is that there are a lot of ways to add more to the game without having to add classes which would mean a reroll and complete respec for people wanting to try it out. The nature of new classes might mean that they would be added alongside a new class change option just so people don't feel they wasted so much time on old classes. Any new classes added would very likely be DLC and you run into the problem of them being too weak to bother with or strong enough that it gets called pay to win.

let's not stay too far away from no classes. Either add skill lines or more abilities to existing lines. Enough trouble with balance as it is. We have all four archetypes represented: tank, holy, magic DPS, rogue/stamina DPS/siphoner.

It used to be 2 skill lines per class and 6 classes before beta/pts. Those classes were merged to remove a defensive rogue and druidic healer (Warden). if you think classes are missing, it's probably one of those.

As long as it takes months to progress a single toon through alliance war ranks and the highest ranks could take years, I'd say adding new classes is a conflict with that system.

If they were added at the same time as account wide alliance ranks or a class change option, I could get on board. As it is now, I would have way too much time invested in my toon to want to reroll into a new class when it's added. Sure, some won't mind, but designing a system that even some people don't want to use because of the way your current systems work is a very poor design decision.

Agreed. The grind to max level is dissuading when thinking about new classes. However if that were managed, new classes would be great.

I'd like to see all the classes removed and the game turned into a skill based system. Which we basically already have at this point.

Then the devs can just keep adding new abilities to the game without the need of adding an entirely new class to the game, forcing people to roll alts in what is probably the most hostile environment for rolling alts I've ever played in.

Seriously, we need more account-wide unlocks to make alt'ing a lot more friendly.

    - Mounts for starters, no idea why they didn't do this when 1.6 launched
    - Alliance rank should definitely be another - or leveling this needs to happen way way faster.
    - Fighter / Mage guild leveling (seriously, how many times do I need to pick up the same lore books?)
    - smaller things like trophies as well should only need to be done once per account, etc

Very much agree especially when alot of us expected alot more account wide things back when it was in beta lol.

I would like to see more variety than what is currently given.
I think the classes should actually be reduced to the classic warrior, mage, and rogue. Sub-classes could be established from there and a wider (but more limited [skill points]) range of abilities could be provided to create your unique build.

I also think resetting your build should be cheaper and more accessible to compensate.
You should also be able to change builds (resetting all skill points) in the event you are unsatisfied with your choice. Often times this is because of changes beyond your control.

Agreed, spread the few Templar abilities that work to the other three classes or weapon skills.
